Sipping Tea No one Believes You Argentina! Samuel L. Jackson branded "ignorant" and accused of lying by a former Argentine legislator after the Hollywood icon's viral Instagram post slammed Argentina as 'racist'

Is anyone surprised? Just u/ItAintThickButItLong who thinks the real racists are those who might check the skin color and politics of the person claiming "there's no racism"

Well, thatâs usually how it works bud. But in reality you arenât entirely correct.
However, assuming someones race because you believe that action is only done by that race, is racist whether you want it to be or not⌠sorry.

I think a white person from Argentina saying the country isn't racist might not have the same prespsective that a black person living there would have. Thats the only point he was trying to make when he said I bet the legislator was white. I'm sure

I don't think it is racist too acknowledge a white legislator may not understand or be aware of the racism blacks face in that country. At worse they may not even care and would rather cover it up. We can pretend color doesn't matter becuase it shouldn't but that is not the world we live in.

They are not proud, why do people think this, people would frequently make self deprecating jokes along the lines of:
âWhy does Argentina suck? Because all of the smart nazis went to the US, we got stuck with the dumb onesâ
Or
âJapan is a small country with no natural resources, yet they thrive thanks to the Japanese people.
Argentina is a large country with tons or resources, yet we fail thanks to the Argentinian peopleâAnd many more self deprecating jokes/comments like that.
1
u/Crunchberry24 7h ago
Iâd probably need more than the dubious anecdotes your groomer-handler gave you to parrot to change my opinion, which is based on Argentine policy history.
0
u/Aware_Job_6879 7h ago
???
These are things professors and students told me at university of Buenos Aires. Not my âgroomer handlersâ
Historical government policies and the attitudes of an entire modern population arenât the same thing. You can absolutely criticize Argentinaâs history or past immigration policies, but that doesnât justify thinking âArgentinians are racistâ as though itâs a trait of everyone from the country. Thatâs still a generalization about millions of individuals.
I donât even have a personal stake in this, I just donât like seeing entire nationalities accused of negative traits based on history. Judge people by their own actions, not by the actions of a government or the stereotypes associated with where they were born.

How many Nazis is too many?
1
u/Mission_Swim_1783 6h ago
Ask the US they took in double the headcount and not just "scientists" that's the whitewashed version. They recruited a lot for their intelligence agencies and put a lot in NATO ranks
1
u/Boetheus 5h ago
So, 4,000 is ok, but 8,000 is too many, got it
1
u/Mission_Swim_1783 5h ago edited 4h ago
Why are you so focused on Argentina taking in 4k due to the fascist govt at the time some 80 years ago? Were these 4k actually composed of 100% nazi hardliners who committed atrocities? If the population was redeemable these 4k who left aren't?
Maybe a big portion were just Germans who wanted to leave a devastated Europe
What about literally Germany and Austria killing like 10 million? Is this all you know about us? It's extremely mild vs all the atrocities committed by the US and Europe from WW2 up to now. And we took in twenty times the Jewish refugees. While the US put their Japanese Americans out of their homes in internment camps and never returned their homes after the war ended. Oh what you thought you were purely good guys in WW2?
It's funny some ancient government allows immigration of some 4k 80 years ago and you are still the most evil hyperracist Nazi country in 2026 on the planet who just can't hold back their evil. Lol we never messed with our neighbors or implemented any internment camps in our borders or within, or any segregation laws, unlike the US. Both Europe and the US did orders of magnitude worse things across the world and within, and up to this day, which completely eclipses what some ancient fascist government did. So why don't you hyper focus your hate towards the northern hemisphere instead of some irrelevant third world country's not so nice trivia fact
1
u/Boetheus 4h ago
You brought up the numbers, not me
1
u/Mission_Swim_1783 4h ago

-5
u/Saitharar 1d ago
The majority of German and Italians in Argentinia were immigrants in the 1880 to 1910s.
Also stop speaking about fucking good genetics like a Nazi eugenicist.
The US and USSR took in more refugee Nazis than Argentinia and the rest of South America

It's not weird. Small black population, the chances that even one is good enough to play for the NT are slim. It's what happens when you have 300k black people only and then receive literal millions of white immigrants in the course of a single generation and you allow them all to mix.
Oh, by the way. Hector Bailey, '78 world cup champion. Jose Ramos Delgado (his father was from Cape Verde), captain of the NT in the 60s. Alejandro de los Santos in the 1920s.
Oh, sorry, you mean today, right? Then Stephen "Kiki" Ramos, who's in the u17 team.

Here is information about Argentina and their treatment of Black people.Â
6
u/TheItchyWalrus 1d ago
African and indigenous groups were drafted in overwhelming numbers in Argentina as a systematic way to remove them from society. They were placed into the frontlines with the express purpose of ridding themselves of dark skinned individuals, many of which were victims of the slave trade. They did this in the last 19th century and into the early 20th century, with the War of Independence and Paraguayan War being the most prominent wars where the tactic was used. They did this well before Nazi Germanâs sought refuge there.

0
u/Matias9991 15h ago
My god the comments here are beyond ignorant. I guess as ignorant as Samuel Jackson.
Argentina didn't killed black people in the streets as some people are saying here.
There is no proof that Black people were sent Deliberately to die on the wars, but the contrary, by all accounts the number of Black people, Natives and white people was pretty much equals.
Argentinians mainly are descendants of Spanish and Italians, the amount of Nazis that escaped here where minuscule at the time so no, people here are not descendants of Nazis, and if that's so then the same can be said of the USA, Brazil or USSR (not to talk about other European countries that obviously got Nazis) that got a similar number as per the ratlines.
Yes, in the early 1900 the government pushed for Europeans to populate the country, same thing that Brazil and Cuba tried in the same manner. We are talking about the end of 1800s - beginning of the 1900s, you know that the world was racist back then no? Europe were still the colonial owners of Africa, robbing and doing despicable things like the genocide in Congo that killed up to 10Million people. The USA was very segregated with both whites and black people having everything separated by color and groups like the KKK was huge getting over 4 million members in the early 1900s with hundreds and hundreds of victims at that time.
For real people, stop believing everything you see on TikTok and search for things, compare it and try to think rationally. If you read this text and end up thinking that Argentina has a more racist and violent history than most countries in Europe or the US then please let me know why you think that way because I don't see it.
1
u/catinformant 7h ago
Why would it matter if its more racist than somewhere else? Its racist.
1
u/Matias9991 7h ago
Because people are talking about Argentina like it was something special, like it was the most racist country in the world, when no, it was quite progressive at that time.
Obviously it was still racist and not good to have a preference of inmigrants because of social norms or color of your skin, but calling that out like it is crazy thing, how could Argentina do that?? It's just beyond weird, as I said there was countries that did the same like Brazil or Cuba and there are countries that did much much much worse lime USA, Portugal, Belgium, England etc etc so why tf are people singling out Argentina?
1
u/catinformant 7h ago
Its pretty normal to call out racism.
1
u/Matias9991 6h ago
No. It's not normal to say that Argentina is one, if not the most racist country in the world, saying that supporting Argentina is like supporting Slavery. Why? Again, Argentina is by far not the country with the worst racial history, it was in fact pretty progressive in the continent of America and didn't make all the shit Europe did in America or Africa.
So yes, you can criticize that at that time trying to get inmigrants from certain places because of social stereotypes or/and the color of skin but why call out that like the outliers? Why not call out the countries that did the most insane racist shit in the world? I didn't see this kind of comments for them, why?
My only explanation is blind hate or ignorance.
1
u/catinformant 6h ago
Because we're talking about Argentina right now. Its fine to call out racism whenever and however.
1
u/Matias9991 6h ago
My god, yes, it's more than ok to call out racism but not to try and push a story when Argentina has a troublesome history with black people that even compares to other countries like I already explained.
Yes, obviously it's ok to criticize racist shit but not to missinform the way people are doing with Argentina.
I named a lot of countries that have done the same or worst like Brazil for example was the main player in Slavery in America and abolished slavery much after than Argentina, I can name probably more than half of the world countries and give you a why it doesn't make sense to just call out Argentina for it's history.
1
u/catinformant 6h ago
What aboutism is just to deflect for the purpose of shutting down conversation. The conversation is about Argentina right now.
1
u/Matias9991 4h ago
It's not whataboutism, it's about spreading false information. The things being said about the history of Argentina is not true, things like that black people were killed on the streets, that they were sent to die in wars to exterminate black people in the country, that the communt was left to dead when illnesses spread, that the country is full of Nazis, that it's full of Sionists.
In this post, and on what Samuel Jackson says is not just talking about whitening in the beginning of the 20 century, it's pointing out just Argentina and saying that it's the most racist country without any type of proof of why are you saying that and comparing supporting the country as literally supporting Slavery.
1
u/Ryousan82 2h ago
Because the tweet Samuel shared made the case that Argentina is the "most racist" country. Its perfectly acceptable to make comparisons
1
u/catinformant 1h ago
Oh so this is just about semantics and pedantism
1
u/Ryousan82 1h ago
You can tell Samuel that, that is that claim being disputed.

To all the people highlighting the Nazis who went to Argentina:
Their issues with racism don't even come close to beginning there. The reason the Nazis picked Argentina was because it was notoriously white supremicist even by the standards of the 30s-40s. They had decades of domestic policy that were explicitly aimed at getting rid of their black population and importing white immigrants from Europe. Look up the policies if Domingo Faustino Sarmiento if you want to see it in action, he wrote literal books about the fight against "barbarism" and the need to "civilize" Argentina. Read: push out the indigenous and african descended people, import as many Europeans as possible.
