For years I have been sick to my stomach about the collection of postcards that was stolen from my storage unit in Las Vegas. I was unable to do anything about filing a police report at the time— however, I have always wondered if the thieves just tossed them or if they sold them somewhere.
It was a collection dating back to the early 1900’s that my grandmother passed down to me. Many cards from all over the world from when my grandpa was in WW2, lots from all over the US from their cross country travel in the 60’s/70’s, some my mom collected and sent from Switzerland, and some of my own collection.
I guess I am posting this to put it out there— if anyone ever comes across the names of “Forman” “Ritchey” “Mullaney” addressed to anywhere in CA, NV, NY, WA, or NC— please reach out to me. Or if you have any advice on how I can search for them online, please let me know.

I keep buying postcards from illustrators here in Germany and I didn’t have the chance to send them out yet. I also got a set with animal postcards.

In exchange I’d be super happy to also receive illustrated cards (no AI!), cute animals (e.g. cats, ducks, otters, crows & many more!) or anything Pokémon or Star Wars related.

Not a notification that disappears in seconds, but an email you save for when you have time to truly read it. A postcard chosen specifically for you. An envelope with your name written by someone whose handwriting you have slowly learned to recognize.

Inside might be stories about ordinary days, thoughts that somehow became easier to share on paper, a pressed flower from a walk, a photograph, or simply a few pages that travelled a very long way to find you.

I would love to find penpals who want to bring a little of that magic back. We can exchange emails, send postcards, write letters, and let a friendship grow naturally between all the things we choose to share.

I got overly excited at the visitors center AND the surrounding stores and I bought a shit ton of postcards...I did not realize how many until I got back to the hotel and put them all together. I leave tomorrow morning. I'd like them to be postmarked FROM Springdale, UT where the park is. PLEASE trade postcards with me so I can right my wrongs and send these to proper homes.
