GovBrief Today #537
Donald Trump gave Saudi Arabia a path to enriched uranium while bombing Iran for already having one.
American companies have long been legally barred from helping Saudi Arabia go nuclear. AP sources say Trump just approved a 30-year deal that allows US firms to help the Saudis enrich uranium on their own soil without the toughest international inspections. He approved it on the 11th straight night of American bombs falling on Iran, five months into a war he says exists to stop them from enriching uranium.
The United States and Israel launched a regional war over one country's centrifuges. Now Trump is selling them to another. We owe the world an explanation for the difference.
