I’m currently at a lowest point right now and I don’t know how to beat all the elite four with this team let alone get money and get potions. I’m considering either quitting or just wing it. I can’t get past Lorelei at all. Based what I did at Bruno a couple of time when I did beat her barely I won easily but Agatha is extremely hard and now I can’t get between Lorelei and now I’m broke and have no other options left
My Jolteon knows Shock wave, Hyper Beam, Bite and Secret Power
Golduck knows Surf, Confusion, Disable and Blizzard.
Hypno knows Dream Eater Hypnosis, Psychic and Confusion.
Machoke knows Revenge, Vital Throw, Submission and Cross Chop
Pidgeot Steel Wing, Whirlwind, Wing Attack and Fly
Venasaur knows Razor Leaf, Synthesis, Cut and Solarbeam

I've had 4 Kangaskhan, 2 Chansey and a Scyther bail on me in the past 2 hours. I want to chuck my switch at a wall.

Decided it might be fun to do an all stone evo team. Had some fun with this team. Vaporeon is kinda broken IMO

I need a surfer and will almost certainly use Krabby at least until I reach Cinnabar, when I might switch

When I played pokemon rpg games as a kid, i never got to finish it(defeating the elite four and the champion). In some i got 8 badges but left it off or didnt get past 6 badges in some. But now I have decided to finish the league in all the regions in sequence. This is my first ever clear for FireRed version with the team given in the screenshots. I am very proud of my team and myself that I did it with underleved pokemons. I know there are some players who do it with lesser levels than this and some poeple do it even with just one pokemon. I am not here to compete. It just feels good to see my own achievement. It took some retries saving the game after each battles.
My strategy for the first elite was with machamp against dewgong, cloyster and lapras taking advantage of the type. If the opponent's pokemon had more speed than me and attacked faster, I used vital throw and if not I used brick break(I find bb more reliable than cross chop for more accuracy and pp). For jynx, I had a pretty smart idea i'd say. I used gengar's destiny bond(MY GOAT for this run). For slowbro i took gamble and used pikachu's thunder attack.
For bruno's battle, machamp easily took out the onixes with earthquake. for machamp, hitmonchan and hitmonlee, i utilized ch'ding's fast speed to use fly attack.
I struggled the most in agatha's battle and it took 4-5 retries. What worked was letting opponent gengar use double team first and then my gengar using destiny bond. In the next turn, i waited for the opponent gengar to OHKO me so i can take it out with my gengar. Nidoking's rock slide easily took out Golbat and earthquake for arbok.
This is the moment I have been waiting for. The battle with lance. I had a perfect plan with pikachu and i brought articuno for this exact battle. Pikachu took out gyarados easily. For both dragonairs and the dragonite, i relied on articuno's ice beam and lucky crit hit on dragonite. Nidoking's rock slide for aerodactyl.
Total used items until this point: 8 max potions, 6 revives, 1 max revives, 5 ether.
At this part i was relieved... until i saw i have one more battle with my rival and 3 of my pokemons were fainted. I only had 2 revives and 2 max potions left no other hp/revive items. However, i won the battle after a few retries as pikachu took down pidgeot, articuno's ice beam for rhydon and exeggutor, gengar's destiny bond for alakazam.
By the way, I got a bit side tracked in the middle of the playthrough after getting 8 badges and delayed the elite 4 fight because... I was playing heartgold until I got 8 badges there too. I absolutely loved heartgold. In my opinion, the ds era was peak of pokemon rpg games. They did a really good job with polishing it, adding a lot of QoL(notably using a tap button to activate bicycle/running shoes and differect sections in the bag) and implementing 2.5d perfectly.
Which game should I play after heartgold? I am thinking of Hoenn region as its in the sequence after johto. But I am having a hard time to choose between Emerald and ORAS. Soaring feature looks cool with 3d visuals in ORAS but one thing that's stopping me is very low field of view. It feels tunnel visioned when looking at ORAS gameplay. Same with X/Y. The ds era was perfect and gba too. We could see a lot of area in our FOV unlike the camera focusing and zooming to the main character not showing surrouding areas in ORAS or XY(basically the 3DS games)

I wanted to do a play through with bulbasaur on fire red and was wondering what’s the moves currently for gyms and elite 4/champion?

Summoned for jury duty this morning. Probably going to be a lot of waiting, so I’ll work on my shiny staryu hunt. Wish me luck!

I made a bizarre pivot in Fuschia once I went into the Safari Zone..the majority of my team is from there.. Tauros wasn’t as strong as I’d hoped it would be, but felt I put forth such a commitment to training it fairly late that I had to stick with it. Didn’t use Tauros much in E4 but did funnily enough finish off my rivals Dragonite with strength.
Kingler (54): surf, stomp, dig, attract
Rhydon (52): rock slide, earthquake, counter, return
Exeggutor (52): sunny day, solarbeam, psychic, giga drain
Flareon (52): bite, flamethrower, overheat, toxic
Tauros (51): strength, iron tail, swagger, hyper beam
Dragonite (59): ice beam, thunder wave, twister, fly
