Hey everyone! Back with another major update for the Emerald Online Project (the browser-based online multiplayer system for Emerald).

Today, I’m excited to show you that Real-Time Player Trading & Trade Evolutions are fully functional! You can check out the video attached to see a trade in action and a Pokémon evolving right after!

(And yes, still working on raw HTML/basic UI for now while I finish building all core network mechanics! Beautiful design is coming later!)

Here are the key details on how the trading system works:

1. Custom Trading UI & Lock Feature: Instead of the slow original interface, I built a custom, safe trading UI. Both players select their Pokémon and "Lock" the offer. Once locked, neither player can change their selected Pokémon (preventing last-second scams!). After both players review and confirm, the trade executes in real-time.

2. Trade Evolutions: Trade-based evolutions (like Kadabra -> Alakazam, Machoke -> Machamp, Haunter -> Gengar, Graveler -> Golem, and item-held trade evolutions) trigger automatically right after the exchange is completed!

3. Overworld Interaction: Just like with our PvP system, you can walk up to another player in designated multiplayer areas to initiate a trade request.

This was a huge milestone for the networking side of the project, as making sure both save states and party data synced correctly without data loss or corruption was crucial.

Kanto and hoenn region combined... Something to look out for.

My team was very under leveled so it took me 4 chances to beat Wallace but in Fourth turn I finally did it.

Elite 4 were easy tho , they got defeated every time I battled them .

Against Wallace in fourth turn Gardvoir took three Pokemons like a tank (Milotic, ludicolo, tentacruel)

Breelom took two(Wailord, Whiscash)

Swampert took gyaradose with ice beam it took like 3-4 hits.

It was awesome and Flygon took 4 Pokemon of that dragon type ellite four trainer and half hp of salamence.

My swallow was level 31 lmao I just used him for fly same with Aagron level 42 only used him for hm moves.

Still loved this Pokemons too they were cool and all.

It's was awesome to complete the game with this team.

Activating mystery events in Japanese was a nightmare btw

So, I finished the game and did a few post-game stuff and I noticed I haven’t gotten the egg from the old woman in Lavaridge Town so I got it from her and I hatched this shiny wynaut. Im wondering if this is anything rare or not since I haven’t played emerald in a while

I got all of the impossible to get pokemon like celebs and lugia out of the way just by cheating the tickets in. I now need to beat the kanto games 2 more times now one with squirtle and one with charmander just to get the other beasts roming plus I need to complete the regional dex there and catch all the exclusives. How long will it take me

Spent the last month leveling up my open level teams from 65 to 70 and raising up some of my Lvl 50 mons. Got all the silver symbols on my old copy of emerald but it keeps randomly freezing so I traded the majority of the good ones to a new copy so I can keep playing

Lairon has rock head ability
Azumarill’s has huge power ability

anyone know what trainers own a huntail/gorebyss so it can register as 'seen' in the Pokédex? to my knowledge they can only be achieved via trading so im just trying to get them registered in the Pokédex

trying to complete the pokemon emerald Pokédex and since there is only one moon stone (and I already used it on skitty --> delcatty) where can I fight a trainer who has wigglytuff so it's registered as 'seen' in the Pokédex?

first time seeing this screen and it scared me like no tomorrow. i think this was my first time playing emerald on my gameboy player. saved in the pokemon center & it was on the save screen for a couple mins so i knew something was up then it went to this screen. it was taking forever on this screen so i just restarted my gamecube and the save was ok it just took me back to my last save. popped the cartridge in my gameboy and it saves ok now, seems like it’s just my gameboy player where this happens. any ideas ?

Lots of Zubats later with Macho Brace equipped. Shocked that it worked so well with one level.

Trying to think of a team, and so far I'm really only considering either Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Ampharos. Though I'm actually heavily considering Lanturn and would prefer no overlapping types, but that's in the regional dex.

For more info on what I'm looking for, I'm trying to do a living dex using Colosseum, XD, Emerald, and LG. I don't want duplicates of Pokemon and want most of my living dex to be purified Shadow Pokemon. So I couldn't use something like Metagross or Dragonite since they're both Shadow Pokemon. So that limits what I'm willing to use. I thought about trading over some Shadow Pokemon that I used in Colosseum (Haven't started XD yet for this challenge so nothing from there) and I am super close to beating LG and enabling that to trade with Colosseum, and I have Ruby and Sapphire for catching late game stuff and breeding if I need to.

So I was thinking maybe trading over the Croconaw, Flaaffy, and/or Vibrava from Colosseum but I want something I can use early. I am just stumped.

Other things I was considering using but are in the Hoenn dex are the aforementioned Lanturn, Grumpig, Rhydon, maybe Huntail or Gorebyss.

Swallow (plan to replace it with rayquaza later on)
Gardevoir

Locking in on these four because I really liked them as a kid so wanna play them tgt now, but wanna make sure the team is balanced and strong too

Considering sceptile for the 5th slot to make an all starter team but I’m also open to not having him if he wont be useful in this team

Looking for suggestions for a 6th pokemon (and 5th one too if sceptile isnt a good option)
