Got this 1980 peavey mark iii bass head and 83’ 1x15 for $300 CAD. Maybe the best deal I’ll ever come across. This thing was a little scratchy on most of the pots, but after a quick clean and tune up this thing sounds amazing. I understand the hype, I’m never getting rid of this amp.

I’m thinking about converting my 2x15 cabinet (with tweeter) into a 2x18 setup. The cabinet is slightly wider and taller than a standard 2x15, but the internal volume might still be insufficient, meaning the bass drivers might lack punch or fail to move enough air. Physically, the speakers would fit, but is it a good idea given that the cabinet wasn't originally designed for this? I plan to install two 1801 BW drivers. Are there any experts here who could offer some advice? Thanks in advance. (I'm referring to the cabinet in the middle.)

Picked this up on Marketplace for $140 delivered. I mostly play heads through 2x12 towers or a full stack in my garage and then a 1x12 in the house...

I was considering converting it to head but more importantly, I'm finding so many VK1 mods but the VK2 is getting mixed in heavily. I do believe that I have the schematic but that doesn't mean much to me other than helping me find things on the board and if values are stock because I'm more of a read the forums and see "clip c67 and then bridge it with a switch and use it as a bass boost..." or "Clip R25 on one side and run that to an on/on and on the other side use a 5mm red led..

Can someone point me to some really good resources or make recommendations that are vk2 specific?

This thing cranks, for this show I ran it through the Marshall box. Squeals to high heaven. Orange ghetto is just my back up for this show, and also intimidation.

I got this 5 watt amp for breakfast. I've been looking for one of these for a while as well as the mini colossal. It's small but sounds great turned up, lots of mids. With a fuzz face it really sings and cleans up nicely. I'm taking it to my studio later to hit it with a couple other pedals. I think it sounds so cool. However I'm a maniac and I gotta try another speaker out. The tubes sound fine, no microphonic issues or rattling.

Granted this is in San Diego county where everything is expensive but wtf are some of these prices. I could not give away that line 6 head and they want almost $250 🤣

I have an issue with my PV 10 AT mixer. Some moisture got on the lcd and now it just shows a random string of letters. The effects and autotune still work, the display is just borked. Is there a place to find a replacement or a way to get the lcd to display properly? Thanks for the help on advanced.

I have an XXL I (mostly) love, but good lord is it noisy. I cannot tell how much is me trying to use too much gain or ultra mode when not appropraite (high gain on lead almost seemed better for SFU's Lycanthropy).

I am considering a noise pedal, or maybe using my XXL as a cab for my Blackstar Silverline. Should I get a suppressor, gate, or just a better modeler to push through it?

Picked this little guy off marketplace for 80. Previous owner painted part of it orange. Who knows why. But this thing gets loud AF!!! I figured I could use it for gigs when I dont want to bring my mk5:35 boogie.

Can anyone tell me about it? The clean channel and the reverb are great. The other channel.....not so much.

Can anyone help with advice, directions, or a YouTube video, really anything at this point, to guide me through recapping the Audition 110 and the TKO 115 S? I have looked, but I’m not finding what I hope to find, which is why I’m here.

The audition has a 60 Hz hum that’s probably louder than the guitar, and the TKO has an intermittent low end pop every 10-20 seconds. It’s usable for practice, but a no go for live or recording.

Does anyone have experience repairing these amps? I have soldering experience, but it’s been a while. I don’t doubt I can do the job, but some guidance would be much appreciated.

got the damn peavey valve king and the peavey 4x12 for $240 off facebook marketplace. was listed at $450 but the guy was using an instrument cable as the speaker cable and it was making tons of noise so i talked him down to 240

sounds like a jet engine when I engage it. the pre gain doesn’t add much noise. specifically the button does.

I’m thinking it may just be dirty contacts but could it be something actually broken? I’ll start with just cleaning it and see if that does anything

So, I occasionally saw this Electro voice evm 12l classic at the local second hand marketplace in new condition and decided to give it a try.

I think I like it more than the scorpion. However, I was surprised that this highly regarded EVM was not such a huge improvement as I had expected. So the scorpion, especially considering the price, is a great speaker indeed.
