I want to provide an update to a post I made in late may where i purchased an astral 5090 from newegg canada and the card arrived DOA. refer to the previous post so i don't have to repeat myself all over again.

So after back and forth email with Newegg I decided it wasn't going anywhere so i took it up with my CC company (Amex), filed a chargeback and provided them with all evidence and documents, including screenshots from my unboxing video (Amex doesn't allow video upload), receipt, emails with Newegg, etc.

Newegg sent me back the defective card which i had returned earlier for a refund, which they denied. I haven't touched it ever since for liability reason, but today, to my surprise, Amex closed the dispute in Newegg's favor. I never received any correspondence whatsoever from Amex, no emails, no asking for further evidence, nothing. I asked the CS and they said Newegg has sent their supporting evidence and thus, the dispute has been closed in their favor.

Now, I'm left with a $6000 paperweight of a card card which Newegg sent me back. and to make matters worse, they took the card apart broke the seal, and missing some screws too. I can't even go to RMA route with asus now

Needless to say I am incredibly frustrated and don't know what to do now.

What are my options ? I don't want to be out $6000 and stuck with a literal brick. Should I go to small claims court ? in the previous post many of you guys told me to send an email to gamersnexus. I did that and never received anything back

this is really the worst position to be in especially now with how expensive gpus are. Granted I shouldn't have bought from Newegg but if this can happen to me, then this can happen to anyone too.

I get it that a lot of people are actually commiting scams/return fraud with this kind of hardware. But when a customer unknowingly received an item which has been previously tampered with, and provided all supporting evidence they can have, is there anything anyone can do at this point ?

I have an ASUS ROG G15.

April (Last Year):

My laptop was under warranty, and ASUS arranged an onsite service to replace the display because it had dead pixels.

During the screen replacement, the technician damaged the laptop. The bottom case, keyboard area, and one corner of the chassis were physically damaged.

Around the same time, I had to leave Punjab because of the border war situation, so I couldn't deal with it immediately. The laptop remained there, and later the service center couriered it to my hometown.

June:

When I finally received it, I noticed the damaged corner and other physical damage.

I immediately contacted ASUS customer support. By then, my warranty had expired.

After multiple calls, ASUS put me on a conference call with the service center owner. After a long discussion, it was agreed that I would send the laptop back to him, he would repair the damage, and send it back.

October:

After almost 3 months, I received the laptop again.

Now I found new problems:

\- The speakers were no longer working.

\- The bottom case was not even from my laptop model.

I contacted the service center again.

They asked me to send it back once more.

After another 4 months

The service center owner told me that the speaker issue was due to motherboard damage and that replacing it would be too expensive for him.

I told him that I expected my laptop to be returned in fully working condition because none of these issues existed before their repair.

Later he told me that he had managed to arrange another motherboard through some "under-the-table" deal with a warehouse employee and had fixed everything.

This June:

After countless follow-ups and escalations, I finally received the laptop.

The speakers were working, but:

\- The incorrect bottom case was STILL not replaced.

\- There was a noticeable power-related issue with the screen.

I informed him again.

He said he would send the correct bottom case separately and asked me to visit a nearby ASUS service center in Mumbai to get it installed. He said he would pay the installation charges.

Last weekend

I visited the ASUS service center in Mumbai.

Instead of simply replacing the bottom case, they checked the laptop and told me that the issue is actually with the motherboard.

Their quotation to fix it?

₹1.25 lakh.

I'm honestly shocked.

This laptop originally went in only for a warranty screen replacement because of a few dead pixels.

After that:

\- The technician physically damaged the laptop.

\- I spent over a year sending it back and forth.

\- The wrong bottom case was installed.

\- Speakers stopped working.

\- A motherboard was allegedly replaced through unofficial means.

\- The laptop still isn't in proper working condition.

\- Now another ASUS service center says it needs a motherboard replacement costing ₹1.25 lakh.

I'm exhausted at this point.

My questions:

1. Can ASUS still be held responsible even though the warranty has now expired, considering all this started during a warranty repair?

2. Should I escalate directly to ASUS India instead of dealing with the service center?

3. Is this something I should take to the Consumer Commission (consumer court)?

4. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation and actually received a replacement or compensation?

I have call records, service history, courier records, escalation history, and repair timelines documenting most of this process.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

So I live in Bulgaria and want to build a pc. After some research i figured out caseking is the best site for me to buy pc parts near me and i finally got all the money for it but now when i try buying them eith my debit card I get an error saying the transaction couldn't be completed because of the payment method. I decided to call my bank and it wasn't a problem from me so then i emailed the website and they said they are working on a fix but it has already been a few days and I'm growing impatient because they have been basically ignoring me and I wanna know if anyone has bought something frim there jn the last few days with anything other than debit card so that I know if it's possible to do it with paypal or Amazon pay.

I have had a horrible few days, and it is due to the Predator Orion 6000.

This past Sunday, I purchased it from Best Buy, removed it from the packaging, and followed the quick start steps to open the panel. No laying it down first, followed the diagram exactly.

I did NOT realize that the panel had no preventative latching to stop a piece of tempered glass immediately falling to the floor and shattering into pieces. I didn’t even plug it in.

Best Buy, luckily, were understanding, and offered me a replacement, which I, with some hesitation, accepted.

While setting up the replacement on Monday, the glass panel nearly fell out three separate times while moving the tower, despite my *extreme* care at moving it. But fine, I know to be very careful.

Within two hours, the GPU stopped displaying a picture, and upon investigating the machine I found the clip holding the GPU in its PCIe slot was missing.

I immediately returned the machine and happily paid an extra $300 for a ROG desktop (which, notably, has a screw attaching its glass panel).

Be very, very mindful about this PC. Don’t repeat my mistakes. And Acer: recall this case.

I want to buy an Asus ROG ally Z1 extreme from istore plus,but I'm hesitant because I don't know anything about the store and I asked about it but no one knows it in my area.Especially that the ROG ally is expensive ,so I need to know if it's trustworthy.So i was wondering if anyone bought from them the ROG ally or anything expensive and if it was the original and not fake, and even for their service if it's good and the warranty or at least if I can return.or can I at least know of it's the original from the box?

Bought a prebuilt from a local system integrator in June (~$1,970 SGD — Ryzen 5 7500F / RTX 5070 / 32GB DDR5). One of the reasons I picked that config was the 1TB T-Force GA Pro Gen5 SSD (10,000 MB/s read), which was listed as part of the build.

A few weeks in, Windows corrupted. Sent it in under warranty. They diagnosed the SSD as failed — couldn't delete partitions in WinPE, drive appeared locked — and replaced it.

What they replaced it with: a 1TB Kingbank KP260 Plus — Gen4, 7,000 / 6,500. Plus a $30 SGD refund to compensate for the downgrade.

I pushed back and asked for either an equivalent Gen5 drive or a refund that better reflected the tier difference. They've since offered a 1TB Lexar NM990 Gen5 instead, with no refund.

What I'm curious about:

1. Was the original "budget Gen4 + $30" offer normal practice, or a lowball hoping I wouldn't look closely? The $30 bothers me more than the drive itself.
2. Is quietly substituting a lower-tier part during a warranty repair something SG SIs do routinely? Would most customers even notice?
3. Is the NM990 actually a like-for-like swap for what I lost, or is it a downgrade that's just less obvious?
4. Warranty: system came with 3 years parts / 1st year onsite pickup & return, from June 2026. Does anyone know whether replacement parts typically reset that clock or just inherit the remaining term?

Not looking to name-and-shame. Just want a sanity check on whether the first offer was standard.

I'm planning to buy an **ASUS TUF Gaming A15 (Ryzen 7 7445HS)** from **Amazon** (or possibly Flipkart).

A few of my friends told me that I **won't be able to purchase the official ASUS extended warranty (1+2 years)** if I buy it online. They said ASUS requires the **seller's signature/stamp on the invoice**, and that Amazon/Flipkart only provide a digital invoice without any seller stamp.

I'm confused because I've also seen people saying they successfully bought the official ASUS extended warranty after purchasing from Amazon or Flipkart.

So I wanted to ask people who have actually done this:

* Were you able to buy the official ASUS 2-year extended warranty after purchasing from Amazon or Flipkart?

* Was the Amazon/Flipkart PDF invoice enough, or did ASUS ask for anything else?

* Did you need a seller's signature or stamp?

* Did you face any issues while registering on the ASUS warranty portal?

I have absolutely no experience with building pcs nor buying components, so this may seem laughable...but I want to warn people about scams.

I bought a RTX 4080 SUPER from monitors.com ($1,099 USD), and description and pictures on their website clearly show that it's NVIDIA RTX 4080 Founders Edition (archived link to page).

However, in reality I received a HP RTX 4080, which is likely a OEM card pulled from pre-built HP computers.

DO NOT BUY FROM Monitors.com!!!

I bought motherboard + RAM bundle on Amazon.

One RAM stick DOA.

Seller only allows full bundle return.

Has anyone successfully gotten component replacement or warranty support in similar situations?

Hey everyone, I am hoping to get some advice on a really frustrating situation.

​Recently, I bought a refurbished motherboard from a retailer. After putting the build together, I noticed right away that the system was not running smoothly. It was unstable and just felt wrong.

​To figure out what the issue was, I decided to run a standard stress test. Midway through, the entire PC crashed hard.

​When I tried to reboot, nothing happened. After some troubleshooting, I realized my hard drive was completely fried. I have tested the drive in another working PC, and it is completely dead

​I live in the EU, so I know we generally have strong consumer protection laws. I assume I can just return the motherboard for a refund or replacement under the statutory warranty for refurbished goods.

​My bigger question is about the collateral damage. Do I have any right to claim compensation for the destroyed NVME drive? It was working perfectly fine before the faulty motherboard killed it.

​Has anyone dealt with a retailer regarding collateral damage from a faulty part in the EU? Any advice on how to approach customer support or what legal rights I can quote would be hugely appreciated.

First time PC buyer here. I shopped for a prebuilt desktop at Microcenter yesterday, and the only issue I had with the model I chose was that it only came with one stick of ram. The ram brand on this model was not listed, so a store clerk told me it was G.Skill Flare, and that they sell those separately and can install a second one in store before I check out.

I went with this, purchased the second stick, had them install it. Now when I opened up the desktop at home I see that there is one stick of G.Skill Flare installed alongside a stick labelled Crucial. I've been advised against mixing RAM. So my question is how big of an issue is this? Should I take one out immediately? Should I contact the store that they should have given me the correct information? Or that they should not even have installed the second brand alongside the first?

Hey everyone, looking for advice or just wanting to warn others about a complete logistical nightmare I’m dealing with right now. This whole experience was a disaster from day one. Before I even got a package, Newegg’s automated system kept glitching and canceling my orders for absolutely no reason. It got so bad that I literally had to call customer support so an agent could manually place the order for me. Even while I was on the line with the representative, the system still auto-canceled it right there and then. Eventually, an order finally went through, but that backend chaos clearly broke something. When the box finally arrived, it contained the completely incorrect item. I did the right thing: contacted support immediately, took photos of what arrived, and initiated a return to get what I actually paid for. Now, Newegg has officially denied my return and closed the case. Their reasoning? They claim the serial number of the physical item I sent back doesn’t match the serial number of the order they allegedly scanned at the fulfillment center. Well... obviously it doesn't match. That’s the entire reason I opened the return in the first place—because they sent me the wrong product!
To make it worse, during the runaround with customer support, an agent explicitly noted that the item I received and sent back actually matched a completely different customer's account and order number. This proves their warehouse completely swapped my shipping label with someone else's order, but their system is too rigid to recognize its own cross-linking mistake. I've officially exhausted their support. My final call summary literally states: "A return was denied because the serial number of the returned item did not match the one shipped. The return was escalated to the highest level, but no further action can be taken." Has anyone successfully fought this? I’m preparing to file a chargeback with my credit card company tomorrow since Newegg is refusing to fix their own warehouse error and is essentially forcing me to pay for an expensive item I never received.

Hi everybody my pc has been broken for. A year cuz my glue is fried after I’ve been saving up for a whole year I now have enough money to buy a gpu and wich I did, since money is tight do u think Amazon would notice if I stuff the package with rocks and what other method can I do?

I added a bunch of parts to my basket and was getting a 20-25% discount. I actually wrote the numbers down because they seemed too good to be true.

Later, when I wanted to actually buy the items, I checked the basket on my phone and *no discount* was showing, then later it reappeared at 5%. The site now lists a "Buy 3, get 5% off" deal. But the prices are so high there that you don't actually end up saving anything.

I'm just wondering, what the hell happened to my mega discount? I got so excited about it.

Did anyone else experience anything like this? Did I catch the tail end of a deal but fail to act quickly enough?
