Moderator Post Parts List Photos Are Henceforth Not Allowed

It was a rule, then it got too tiresome to remove, because I had a rule that if people replied to the post then I would allow it.

After this last couple of days seeing more and more of them, even a picture of a printout of a pcpartpicker build list..... *sigh* I am re-instating the rule.

No more 'if people reply...' restrictions. I will just flat-out remove it.

To ensure your posts go through, please include a system build link for parts, even if pcpartpicker is not available in your area, just add the components to the list and paste the shareable link at the top left of the system builder.

It makes everyones jobs a lot easier, plus we can 'modify the list' and give you an updated link to help refine. Then it's up to you if you want to buy it from the sources on the builder or source them out yourself.

Installation Question Custom angled GPU mount for dual RTX 5070 AI server - does the airflow concept make sense?

Motherboard spacing doesn’t allow two 2.5-slot Gigabyte 5070s to fit in the x8/x8 slots. Rather than changing the motherboard or buying different GPUs, I’m considering fabricating a custom mount that holds the second GPU at an upward angle in front of the side intake fans.

My theory is:
- The two lower side intake fans would feed GPU 2 directly with fresh air.
- The Meshify 3 XL’s PSU shroud/ramp should help direct some of that lower airflow up into GPU 2.
- By angling GPU 2 instead of mounting it directly beneath GPU 1, I’d leave a much larger cavity under GPU 1 so it can still draw fresh air.
- By offsetting GPU 2 towards the tempered glass, I’d leave an air channel behind it (between GPU 2 and the motherboard) so fresh intake air can still reach GPU 1.

My concerns are:
- Could GPU 2 still end up starving GPU 1 of fresh air despite the forward offset? I’d probably only have around 20–30 mm behind GPU 2, and I’m also unsure how much the PCIe riser cable itself might obstruct airflow.
- Is there a better angle or position I should mount GPU 2 at?

Would you expect this to perform better or worse than two GPUs stacked directly on the motherboard?

This is for a home AI server, so the dual GPUs are intentional. Most of the hardware was given to me as spare parts by a family member, so returning or exchanging components isn’t really an option.

I’m happy to fabricate a custom bracket if the airflow concept makes sense—I just wanted some opinions before I start cutting metal.

Tech Support Mother board came with bent/missing pins?

Hey guy’s so after about 3 weeks i finally got the motherboard i ordered from the uk shipped to australia,

Before even opening the box i noticed that there were white paper covers on the box covering the front of the box and it came with no cushion/foam or any sort of packaging just the motherboard box in an amazon box.

As i open the back i am greeted with the photo above, so i am looking on some advice on what the next step should be.

A. Should i try to put my cpu in it and turn it on to see if it works

B. Straight up return it and ask for a refund or replacement

C.try to bend it back myself or take it to a repair shop ?

Was also wondering whether it would void my warranty if i tried to put my cpu in it and turn it on.

Thanks in advance.

This is what I’m thinking for my build, ssd is taken care of so there’s no problem in that. I don’t mind spending a tiny bit more if I have to.

Build Question Could somebody point out where my CPU is?

As I said on one of my posts here, I'm very new to it. I want to repaste my CPU, but I cannot find it for the life of me - any help is much appreciated!

Edit: I fucked stuff up so majorly my computer might as well be ruined. One of these days I'll shoot myself.

Edit: Never shooting myself. I managed to fix it with hopes and prayers and no experience whatsoever. I am unstoppable and probably haven't learnt anything.

Build Question is it really worth it going for an AM5/DDR5 build?

i'm kinda stuck between going for an AM4 and an AM5 build. I could go for an AM5, but I'm worried I might buy too early (like buying an AM5 build before prices go down)

I could go for an AM4 build, but I might have to upgrade soon after purchasing one.

Can you guys enlighten me? My budget for a build is around $800-$900.

Build Question Where should I begin?

Post image

I have about $500 to spend on upgrades. I've had this thing since 2017 and have not touched a single thing about it, as it runs all the games I play fairly well on medium-ish settings.(Rainbow Six, Call of Duty, Rocket League, indie games, etc.)

Build Question USB 3.0 19 Pin Case Cable Over Fans, any advice?

Post image
8 Upvotes

I am using asus prime ap201 as my case and MSI Pro B850M-P motherboard. The usb 3.0 header of the motherboard is aligned with the bottom case fans and the cable is so rigid and big that it bends over the bottom intake fans and sits dangerously close to the gpu fans above. Is it possible to replace this cable or do something with it or should I decommission those ports? I tried using plastic locks but the head is also too rigid and takes space no matter what.

Tech Support PC makes a click clack noise when booting up games

Hi all, built a PC and im having some setting up errors. Whenever I boot up a game, one of my radiator fans starts bouncing and hitting the cpu cable underneath.

Would my best attempt be adjusting the fan curves first? Followed by securing the fan to the radiator? All do all three and look at the offending cable and re route it?

Apparently this is common. I’ve followed a lot of tips and still can not get my PC to work. Below is a list of what I’ve tried from reading similar threads.

  1. Mobo lights go Red to Yellow to Off, which is apparently means it’s booting?
  2. Tried different HDMI cables
  3. Removed CPU and cooler to ensure seated properly.
  4. Brand new Motherboard
  5. Brand new Power Supply

  6. Tried with 1 stick of ram in first ram slot. Ensured RAM is seated properly.

This has happened in the past on an old motherboard and it randomly started working after several restarts. Will update as I try more troubleshooting.

Build Question Should I buy my GPU now or wait until I can afford the entire build?

Basically the title. I am looking to build a mid-high end PC based around the 9070xt. I won't be able to afford the entire build until mid to late next year. I'm worried GPU prices might skyrocket in that time and I'm wondering if I should get one now before the vram crisis gets worse. I appreciate any advice on the subject!

Update: Ok seems like the consensus is to not do this so I'm gonna hold off, roll the dice and hope prices don't get out of hand before I can afford my build. Thanks for the advice gang, I appreciate it!

I recently bought the MSI MAG Coreliquid A15 AIO Cooler for my AM4 Motherboard

I understand the standing and applying thermal paste then screwing in the radiator and heatsink aspect of it but I dont understand how to connect the cables, I know it has a daisy chain but idk where this specific plug connects to and idk what its called.
