It’s been a trip so far. I have a Cleric of Erastil, Ninja, Blood Summoner, Witch and Sacred Shield Paladin.
They just cleared the catacombs of wrath.
But as I’m sure we all know, players are strange creatures.
After dispatching the sinspawn in the final room and getting increasingly aggrieved at Erylium being invisible and being annoying. The paladin made a bat 20 perception check and sees her flying 20 feet above and about 10 feet away. He proceeded to hurl a sinspawn at her to cover her in viscera. This worked. Because of course it did.
Meanwhile the summoner was holding his turn and the second he sees her bloody visage, immediately hurls a vial of water of lemashtu that they collected earlier. Against all odds this hits her. She makes the save and then the cleric commands her to land.
His eidolon charges and goes for a grapple, but fails. The paladin goes to do the same and fails.
The summoner throws another goddamn vial. He had 3 uses. This connects again (Christ) and she fails her save.
Her int plummets by max roll but des was only 2.
I roll on a table for mutations that I prepared earlier. It was more beneficial. Though gross. Regenerative tumours. +1 to her fast healing.
The witch uses charm.
While she is charmed. The summoner takes the other use of the waters from the witch. And then proceeds to force feed them to Erylium. 4 Int 9 dex.
More mutations.
Not so fun this time.
Then before I can tell them what the mutations are. They grab my poor lobotomised quasit and shove her in a glass jar.
She is too stupid to figure out how to escape.
The witch wants to turn her into a familiar.
Advice welcomed 🤣
Edit: I am running the game for fun with friends. While I know some of the stuff I’m doing doesn’t work RAW like I forgot charm person wouldn’t work on a demon, whoops.
I do know nat 20 skill checks don’t always succeed, we did agree as a group to critical successes and failures on skill checks so I gave it to the paladin.
He did have to roll to keep track of her if she moved which would have been a 15 or higher for him.
As with the families side of things, I am going to let that happen, she doesn’t use her current familiar in combat at all and it is going to be a plot device later (she chose fey but doesn’t know who. I chose the Lantern King.) I am fashioning a feat for her to allow a pact with her. And a second for lv 5 to essentially turn her into combat pet. She will have to have several rp talks with her and depending on those outcomes I’m going to have her potentially shift alignment.
