US Job application

Rebuilding life. Advice in general , and what to put on job application.

Trying to level up my career and get on with a county 911 service. good job doing IFT, but it's not where my passion is. The work life balance and the healthcare benefits would drastically improve , if I get on at a municipality.

Problem is , I was fired from my last two jobs. And it's totally killing my confidence as I apply at jobs and do interviews. 💀

The last one they lost some contracts and I feel they needed to get rid of somebody and came up with our reason to let me go. However , they made claims that I was speaking inappropriately with a patient. Maybe I did maybe I did it , but I took a look at my own self and started working on self awareness. With this job , I took medical leave to go to drug rehab... After I did thirty days in patient rehab and 2.5 months of intensive outpatient therapy.. I came back to work.💪. When I came back to work , my manager tried to block me from being put back on the schedule saying that I no called no showed..the day I checked in to rehab.. Which was a lie because I communicated with h.R and the manager , every step of the way. Anyway , I don't know if that played a part , but yeah , when I came back to work , I was let go about two months later for some BS. I have fourteen months clean and sober now.

The job before that I was there for about two years. I started being a day late for 14 day shift (oil field) Whatever... I was having mental health struggles , dealing with a toxic relationship , grieving, messed that job up . I was fired from that job.

What do I put on job applications now ? I'm not a liar , but also I don't know if I'd wanna just give information that will disqualify me if I don't need to. Idk.

Just the last few years were pretty rough. Lost my mother had some mental health struggles , relationship drama ouch my heart, bla bla..I went in to a dark hole with poor coping mechanisms. I accept responsibility..Now i'm making my comeback

What do I put on applications?

Involuntary separation? Separated? Fired?

Do I need to just stay at my current employer 2 years until my job history looks better?

It's just tough because i'm trying to better my life but it seems like i'm still paying for consequences of my past mistakes

Thank you

What's one diagnostic tool you wish every ambulance had?

We're engineering students researching EMS workflows and trying to understand what equipment would actually make a difference.

If you're willing, we'd also appreciate responses to our short survey!

NYC shift schedules and mental health

I'm doing a small study about the relationship between shift schedules and mental health in NYC EMS providers.

If you can please fill out this form.

https://form.jotform.com/262001013740033

If you have any issues feel free to reach out to me

I would post in a general NYC EMS sub but afaik that does not exist

I have posted in the FDNY EMS subreddit but I'm looking to reach more people

I do plan to eventually expand this to include all EMS but i need to start somewhere

If mods don't want this posted lmk and I'll remove it
