• is there a firmware after which a function or facility is no longer available?
• is there a firmware which can offer everything previous firmwares offer?
• is there a minimum firmware for which dumps/backports are not provided for?

If you could choose a firmware, where would you go?

I bought it and never opened it. I'm not sure what firmware it has, and I know I'll have to open it up, get it plugged in, and check. What can I realistically do with it likely having 9.40 - 9.60? I don't really need Steam on it as I have a Steam Deck and also use my PC for steam. I don't need it for Linux as I have a MacBook, desktop, and notebook for various Linux distros. Is there any way to get the PS5 to recognize an internal disc drive if I was to put Linux on it, or does that actually need to be done at the via XMB (or whatever the kids are calling it these days)? Is an external disc drive a viable option? I'm guessing yes on the external disc drive with Linux. I'm just conflicted as to what I should do. I don't see an advantage for me personally to jailbreak it, but I also didn't want to update the firmware because then that's just shooting me in the foot if I do decide to use it for whatever.

Any recommendations are helpful.

I Bought a PS5 on 12.02 firmware yesterday and I tried P2JB and it works but takes 50 minutes which is very long and I get a lot of kernel panics. I have a bluray drive and blank blu rays. Is there a way I can burn a Blu ray disc and not use the youtube app anymore? Even if it takes 50 minutes still I prefer to use blu ray discs to stay offline, can I unpatch it and make it work on 12.02 or is that not possible? Thanks!!

So, this is the kind of post that I really dislike usually, considering the ton of guides we can find online when it comes to hacking your 3DS/Switch/iPhone/Wii or any popular device. But in this case, I feel like there are updates and new methods every day for the PS5.

I just bought a PS5 Pro on 9.05

I did the jailbreak method using the already made backup shared by modded warfare, but I wanted to know what to do next : What do I have to update on the homebrew side? Is it safe to install games on the internal SSD ? PS4 titles can be installed as pkg like on the PS4 ? Is it better to restore the console and hack it with my own modified backup ? What are the limitations on 9.05 over later updates ? Should I update the console to the latest "short" y2jb ?

All I did for the moment was :

- Blocking Sony over my DNS

- Hacking the console

I have a PS5 on 11.0 and i have been using p2jb for a while now. Never had issues like KP or anything, console goes in rest mode and works fine once turned on but i do realise that o could get KP and errors at any time.

Had to place an order on Aliexpress for some stuff and got a jailbreak disc which apparently suports firmware 11.0.

Is there any tutorial for unpatching the BD drive please?

Does anyone know if it's possible to move or copy the Netflix N hack app from a Jailbroken PS5 that is already PSN activated to a PS5 that has never been online (non-activated) PS5? Would this work to add the Netflix app on the new PS5 without having to do a restore?

I have a ps5 12.20, it was JB with y2jb. Was working great.

I went out for a couple of days, ND when i got back home it was turned off.

I procceded as usually, execute y2jb. And Im the Middle of p2jb it turned of and now is In safe mode. With ONLY the option to reinstall system software.

What should i do?

Has anyone managed to open the game with ShadowMountPro on 12.70 and it recognized the dlcs? I see that the dlcs are loading correctly in dlc_emu.log but the game shows that I am not entitled to any of the DLC and everything but the base game content is locked...

Has anyone encountered this?

I got Cyberpunk 2077 and somehow it only has 4 languages for the menu and the subtitles, and neither are English.

Is there any way to download an English language pack and make it work without downloaing a whole new game?

Is it necessary to have the folder structure for a dump?

Because I have a few dumps where every file is in the root folder and there are no subfolders like in other dumps.

Those dumps with subfolders are working, but those without not.

Is there a tool or something that will make them workable?

I have my PS5 12.20, I followed all the steps, when I choose the same options that appear in the video in the patch manager and start the game, my PS5 screen goes black and then proceeds to turn off.

I have a PS5 Fat running firmware 12.20 with Y2JB. Unfortunately, I had a kernel panic that forced me to restore the console, and I lost all of my saves.

This is actually the second time this has happened.

I was playing Resident Evil Requiem (v1.200)and had reached East Raccoon City, where I was looking for the batteries.

Does anyone happen to have a save around that point, or know if there's any way to recover a lost save after restoring the console?

I'd really rather not have to start the whole game over again.

For some reason, no matter the game version, neither the regular nor the deluxe edition by Duplex registers trophies. I can see the trophies on the console, but none of them is popping up. Also, the DLCs are not showing up when I boot up the deluxe edition. I'm on Y2JB+P2JB, 12.40 digital, with the newest versions of kstuff lite by echostretch and drakmor's shadowmountplus. How can I fix that? AFAIK it's the only game that I've tested that doesn't have working trophies for me.

I have an issue that when i close a game its stuck on the closing screen forever until i pull the power cable. Usually close a game when it crashes in game(The game itself will be responsive but going to objectives doesn't do anything). And i try to close it from the switcher. I'm on fimware 12.70 and using P2JB. Any solution for this issue?

Recently I picked up a used PS5 slim from marketplace as "broken" and was sold as-is for cheap. The issue was it was stuck in recovery mode and unable to install update. I got it home and managed to reinstall the latest firmware and thought it was fixed but when testing games, the console would freeze and crash randomly and shutdown. Luckily I found out that the console was still under warranty, and 1 week later Sony exchanged it with a new one (or a refurb, but it looks and smells brand new to me). Anyways, I got it early this week and checked the firmware thinking it's most likely the latest firmware but to my surprise it was 11.40! Now I know I can JB this but I'm worried that if I restore the console, I'll lose the BD pairing. It came paired out of the box, I never connected to the Internet or anything yet.

I know I'm lucky to even get a working PS5 but getting a low firmware is like the cherry on top

I tried installing the .PKG dlc with the exfat version of the game but nothing comes on the game itself. So I tried downloading the folder version instead. I replaced game folder contents with DLC folder and 4.xx folder, and the game loads (with itemzflow) but nothing, no DLC content... any ideas what I might be missing? I successfully installed DLC content before but this game is giving me issues in particular.
