[MEGATHREAD] App Announcements and Support

This is a new MEGATHREAD intended to hold all posts regarding the creation, use, and support of apps related to GLP1, weight, diet, activity, et al management.

We are getting absolutely bombarded with vibe coded apps and this will help try to give these apps space to do their thing, but keep it contained.

I made a new rule (Rule 10) to indicate the preferred use of MEGATHREAD(s) for certain topics. If you see app promotion/engagement posts or comments, please feel free to report them and we will take a look.

If you have other suggestions for MEGATHREADS please send a message to the moderators

Success Stories Just wanted to celebrate a milestone

After plateauing for six weeks I gradually GRADUALLY upped my dose to 2mg. The nausea I had in my first months at .5 mg and .75mg have returned, but not too bad and I have started to drop weight as fast as I did at the beginning.

I have crossed the fifty-pound Rubicon and feel hopeful about hitting the 80-lb one in time. Whenever I feel a little queasy I remember standing in my scale at 272 in October and this morning at 214. I see my waist. My hips don’t hurt anymore. When I catch a glimpse of me in the hall mirror I’m astonished.

That’s all. Just had to share.

Question Anyone else notice that cannabis "overrides" the effects of ozempic?

I've noticed that when I smoke weed, it brings all my food noise back. Prior to ozempic I was dealing with food noise 24/7, but now it's only when I smoke weed. I've recently quit because it's been really screwing up my progress, I've been borderline binging for the past 2 months because I've been smoking every day and eating way too much, I've gained 9lbs back last I checked 😬 I'm committed to staying sober (for a multitude of reasons tbh) so I'm not too worried about getting back on track but man, physiology is weird.

Question Bad stomach cramping

Hello!

I’ve taken 4 doses of the 0.25. I’ve had some bad stomach cramps (right behind the belly button) every now and then, but they don’t last usually for more than like 30 minutes and I believe it’s typically just some trapped gas.

However, it kept me up all night last night. It hurt so bad. I was passing gas and had a bowel movement so I’m not sure if it’s that anymore.
Additional info: my tummy is not rigid or distended, the pain comes in waves but the relief period has been very very short.
Has anyone else struggled with this? Any remedies or suggestions?

TIA!

Question Ozempic & Diabetes

Im genuinely curious about the people who are taking ozempic because theyre diabetic. I started it for diabetic reasons and while it has worked so amazing for my A1C levels, ive had zero weight loss and im dissappointed. Ive been on ozempic for about 8 months total and i know my weight contributes to my diabetes.

.25 mg- started here for 1 month

.50mg- after 1 month i increased my dosage and i felt sooo sick. Nausea all the time, always feeling like im about to vomit. Was on for 6 months.

1mg- increased and have been here for about 3 weeks and im feeling the side effects all over again. Sick, nausea, wanting to vomit. And im actually experiencing sugar getting too low. I cant keep my blood sugar up throughout the day.

Question Just really weird poops?

I don’t know how else to put it! I’ve been on Ozempic for about 7 months with pretty good success. At first, as a binge eater, I had a hard time adjusting to smaller meals and was over full and constipated all the time. I eventually adjusted and minus one month where I think something was wrong with my pen and I was constantly puking, everything has been normal.

After some miscommunication between my medical team and a vacation, I ended up being off, cold turkey, for about two-ish weeks. After an appointment with my prescribing doctor, she renewed my prescription and in creased my dosage from 0.5 to 1. But now I’m having the weirdest poops.

My digestion is obviously very slowed and I’m having a hard time adjusting back to Ozempic sized meals. At first I just wasn’t pooping and I had a hard distended “Pooh” belly. So, I tried taking Miralax daily (in my coffee hoping the combination would take the poops up to lightning speed as coffee normally does) along with 1 colace pill (later upped to two). Now I constantly feel like I’m about to shit myself, but when I go to the toilet it’s either just gas or weird, small, Bristol Type 4 poops, but only a tiny bit at a time.

I’m still so bloated and full! And I’m so confused! In my understanding it’s normally constipation with diarrhea that goes around it if there’s a blockage, tiny hard rocks, or full on, everything-must-go diarrhea extravaganza. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what helped you?

Question Backed Up

I am so severely backed up that even Chipotle didn't get things moving like it usually does. I'm trying everything. Stool softeners, stool movers, and fiber gummies. The only thing that works is enemas. This stuff is wild. Lost 31lbs in 2 months, and now the scale ain't moving except up by 2- 3 lbs, then back. Any advice?

Question Media's potrayal of GLP-1s accurate?

Everyday i get emails from the NYTs, washington post, etc., all proclaiming how ozempic/GLP-1s are a seemingly panacea for bigpharma. Is this accurate? i have a hard time finding any side effects but i cant tell if they are just buried with the positivity that is demonstrated in the news, or if they just dont exist.

So much of my mental energy is spent either thinking about food or thinking about resisting it

Does ozempic help you… crave other stuff?

Question GLP1’s in Ontario

I’ve been wanting to go on Ozempic for weight loss for ages, my doctor kept telling me that wouldn’t prescribe it because it was $300. I have an appointment with her at the end of the month and want to talk to her about GLP1’s generic brands. What exactly are the generic brands in Ontario?

Question Highest dose - no weight loss

Has anyone ever had Ozempic never work even on the highest dose ?

Weight is 210 and 5’1 female.

I was prescribed Ozempic a few years ago and lost 35 lbs within a few months on the 1mg dose. My country then experienced a shortage during covid and I stopped taking it. Since then , I gained back that weight , and more and had another baby.

My doctor started me on it again this year and I’ve made my way up to 2mg weekly with zero change in weight. I don’t experience any side effect or decrease in appetite. Nothing.

I met with my doctor today and he prescribed metformin since I do have PCOS for 20+ years now. He was at a loss as to how I can have zero weight loss and said he’s never seen that before on such a high dose.

Question Starting Ozempic

Hi All,

So I have just received my first dose. I am terrified that when I take it I will be extremely sick. Every post I see people are talking about how they have been vomiting for days, they can’t get out of bed etc. I work 5 days a week and I only get one day off at a time so I’m worried I will be too sick to work. I would love some advice on how you all dealt with this or if you even had any symptoms at all. Is it as bad as people say and is there anything I can do to not feel sick?

Thanks in advance 😊

Question Apo-semaglutide in Canada

Hello,

My doctor prescribed me Wegovy back in September 2025 but I never filled it due to the cost ($470 CAD a pen)

So far, the only generic version is apo-semaglutide which my doctor has now prescribed me & is a lot cheaper ($90 CAD a pen)

I am 26F, have had PCOS since I was 14 & struggle with weight all my life along with all the fun stuff with pcos!

I’m starting the apo-semaglutide (by Apotex) & am wondering what people’s experience has been with it? I’m terrified of taking it & the side effects but if the positives will outweigh the negatives one day then I’m willing to try….

Any advice, tips, tricks is helpful.

Success Stories I hit a plateau!!

I haven’t posted in here for a while, so I will give everyone an update on my progress!! I started Ozempic on May 9, 2026 and as of today I have lost 48 pounds. I was on the 0.5mg dose for about 6 or 7 weeks and everything was going good until I stepped on the scale and it hadn’t moved at all. I didn’t gain, but I hadn’t lost either. I started to notice that some of my swelling was starting to return too, so my doctor decided it was probably best to go up to 1mg. I took the 1mg shot on Saturday and I don’t know if I notice a huge difference, but I’m definitely not as hungry and my swelling is starting to go away again. I am hoping that I can get back on track now. I also feel like I have become somewhat obsessive about the numbers on the scale and about feeling like I am eating too much. Most days are really good, but others are hard. I hope everyone has a blessed day!!! :)

Question Anyone else have problems with smells?

About 3 months ago my side effects petered off. Still burps but not as bad.

Now the new thing. Smells. Like, I smell my husband's breath from a week away! I also smelled a server's breath, bad enough that I couldn't eat.

Husband had many teeth that needed work, about 3 years ago. His breath didnt make me want to barf then. Why is it now? Did something change or am I extra sensitive to smells now? And why do the smells all make me want to vomit?

Oh, and most food is super salty now. Help. I hate this.

Success Stories I’ve lost 85 pounds since starting Ozempic in September 2024

I was on Ozempic/Wegovy from September 2024-2025. Prior to then, I struggled with yo-yo weight gain and then loss. I was always restricting or overeating and was miserable. Until August 2024, I had enough, I consulted my GP about GLP-1. I was 214 pounds then, she declared that was an option. Following that instance of my doctor and I talking, she prescribed Ozempic. It was expensive and my insurance didn’t cover it, but it worked. I lost 7 pounds the first month and steadily lost weight from then on. In January 2025, I was switched to Wegovy which my insurance did in fact cover leading me to pay significantly less. The weight loss persisted, although it wasn’t without side effects. I had frequently nausea and vomited up to a few times a week at worst. This prompted to me pay attention to which foods triggered such and abstain from those foods. Fast forward to September 2025, I lost 55 pounds, down to 158. Additionally, my yearly insurance coverage was up. Apparently my insurance will only cover weight loss meds for a year, then you’re on your own. The insurance kahoots is a long story I’d rather skip here. I got on Zepbound in March 2026. Those 6 months prior to that I was off of GLP-1 meds cold turkey. I had to tap into all of my will power within every cell of my body which was a beast to deal with. Thankfully my weight stayed around the same for those 6 months. Once I got on Zepbound in March 2026, the weight loss resumed. I’m now another 30 pounds down. 85 pounds have been lost since September 2024. If anyone wants to hear this story in more detail, I made a YouTube video about it. Although the medication helped, it took a lot of effort on my part too.

Question I think I need a more realistic goal.

I had an extremely empowering first 9 days on Ozempic. I worked up the courage to call my doctor and ask my weight. It was 10 lbs more than I thought, but I weighed in and lost 4 lbs. I was 220 before I started. I’m 5’5” 43F Having been a hundred pounds lighter just 8 years ago, I’m devastated. I was hoping to meet a goal by October 18. It’s not doable now.

Does anyone who’s been on GLP-1s have any words of encouragement or advice? Probably something simple, but I need to hear it. I’m spiraling with these new numbers.

Question People who have lost weight and have saggy/lose skin, what is the worst part?

So far I've lost 10 LBS with Semaglutide. I've got about 40 more to lose acording to my doctor. I've seen a lot of videos of people who have loose skin, and I feel like I'd rather have some extra fat than a lot of lose skin. I don't know if this is a terible opion or not 😂

To the people who do have lose skin what is the worst part and is it better than having extra body fat?

Rant What do I do next

I’m more of just posting this to vent and look for any advice. I started my glp1 journey in February (5 months ago) I am 5’2 and was 150 lbs when I started. I am now down to 120 lbs. I got on it because food noise constantly consumed me and I was always so mad and sad because no matter what I wanted to eat. I am so happy and confident now that I’ve lost the weight and am not constantly thinking about food anymore. It has truly changed my life and made me so happy. My issue is that nobody in my life knows that I am on it besides my mom. I recently moved in with my boyfriend and have no where to put it because I don’t want him to see. I have drove to my moms once a week to take my shot but it is getting very difficult to make the drive. I haven’t taken it in about two weeks and I thought I would be ok once I got off of it but I really don’t think I want to stop it. I have been so hungry and crabby. I don’t know if I should try to hide it at my new place, continue to hide it at my mom’s, tell my boyfriend the truth, or just get off of it. I really just needed to get it off my chest to people who may understand where I’m coming from.

Rant A different experience of GLP1 and OCP interaction

Everyone is talking about OCP efficacy while taking glp1 medicines. but my experience is somewhat different!

I have been on glp1s for about 18 months, and I started OCP three months ago. My weight suddenly hit the plateau and during the past month it was even going up!

I just stopped taking OCP a week ago and my weight dropped about 4 pounds so far. I searched a lot and never see any similar experience on the internet, so I thought it may be good to share.

please share if you have similar experiences.

Question Dosage increase

Has anyone had their doctor increase like mine is. I finished 4 doses of the .25mg last week. Today is the start of .5mg for 4 weeks, then 1mg for 4 weeks, then straight to 2mg. She put in an order for the 2mg pen and wants me click count until I reach the dose she wants me on (2mg).

Question Burps getting worse

Has anyone noticed Ozempic burps getting worse at the end of the week? Just curious if anyone else has noticed this?
