Osan shops
Does anyone remember the Osan blanket or the Royal bag company outside the base?
The blanket shop was two stories of mink blankets.
Just wonder if they are still around.

I was in Incirlik AB Turkey recently as retired IS Army as was able to use the base post office to ship some Turkish rugs home to the USA.
Does Osan AFB post office allow retired army to ship packages?
Thank you.

Where should my wife an I (both E-5) live? She and I have a controlled tour of 3 years and are wondering where we can live to commute reasonably. We are both Air Force. I do not mind driving further to get to Osan.

Hi! Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I hope it is lol anyways I was wondering if I can still send my bf mail via USPS even if I don’t know his dorm # or whatever it’s called. According to google it should be fine as I know his rank, squadron, and obviously his full legal name but he just recently got stationed there so I wanna make sure he receives any letters I send. Also, if anyone has any insight on why our phone calls/texts aren’t working that would be super helpful! They just recently started not going through this week even though he’s been there for about 3 weeks now. The texts first stopped sending in real time, then the calls would ring and go to voicemail and eventually if we DID get each other on the phone, it would drop after an hour. I was able to get an email from him from his personal email about 3 days ago and I responded but I’m not sure if he got it. Anyways, again sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I’d really like some insight from people who are stationed there as communicating with him lately has been really hard. Thank you so much !!!

The shops in front of K-55 Air Base in Songtan are honestly pretty disappointing. When I went recently, most places had reduced portions and raised prices. There used to be a great Philly cheesesteak spot there, but I think the owner changed—the taste just isn’t the same anymore. Steaks, burgers, everything… it doesn’t really feel like authentic American food anymore.
Could you recommend some places where I can get real American-style food?

Me and my coworkers/friends realized that it's hard to manage timezones to game with our friends back home so we decided to open up our Discord.
We usually play the newest games on Steam but we'll play just about any genre. If you're interested in playing games with us, feel free to join!

hiya there, not sure if this is allowed as I'm not US military but guess we will find out!
I've recently moved near Osan AB and it's just me and my wife here, I don't really have any friends and I'm still slowly learning the language.
I'm an early 30s M from Canada, hoping to make some friends for drinks, gaming, sports, pretty much anything.
Awkward as a grown man posting looking for friends but figured I would try 😆 LMK! and apologies in advance mods if this isn't allowed.

I’m going to Osan for a work trip and wanted to stop by Mr. Lim’s. I tried to look up the days and hours the shop is open and couldn’t find them.

Hey y'all!!
I'm (18 F) going to Korea this summer to visit my family in Osan, and wanted to know if there are any places to get a Korean makeup/makeover? I know there are some in Seoul, but I just wanted to know if there's anything closer. Thanks!

Hey there everyone! I'm making my way to Osan, super excited for the move, and was curious if anyone has any info on what to expect when I get there regarding housing, local rules or expectations, and such. I'm heading there accompanied and with my dog.
Also curious about getting my gaming rig sent over and wondering if I should take it apart before shipment or something. Thanks!

Wonder why when they shut down a bar in the SED that they don’t shutdown associated bars with the same owner? For example they shut down a bar the other week and the owner just moved the bar and the girls down the street to another place on the second floor by the railroad tracks so really shutting that bar down does nothing really.
Can anyone provide a link or time a lot for when this shuttle runs?

I'm headed to Osan from the UK in September. I'm coming with two pets. Currently the travel plan is UK to Seattle and then Osan. Long trip with a stop over. I'm looking at taking a direct flight to Seoul as it looks like I can check my cats at some airlines. Has anyone done this recently with their pets?
Thanks for any help you can give.

How are the off base apartments options in korea right now? What are some really nice places (like high rise apartments)? I saw an apartment called “Paragon” I thought looked really nice, has anyone lived there? Who are some good realtors to go through to find nice apartments there?
How is the quarantining process right now?
My husband is currently an E-4 (he might be an e-5 by the time we get there tho) but because I’m his dependent would we be able to get our car shipped there and if so would we have to pay for it?
I appreciate all of your replies. I’m scared I need answers 😅

How is the liquor selection at Osan and Humphreys? Is it the usual stuff? Or do they ever get higher end stuff? I’m mostly into bourbon but like just about everything.

Is it true that all military personnel should only find off base housing through the realtors "licensed by Osan AB?" I was told so by the realtors in front of the gate.
The realtors seem like unnecessary middlemen. They don't try to find tenants nor negotiate the rent (military rates are fixed) but they charge the landlords a fee that is equivalent to 3 to 6 months rent, which is crazy.
So is the "license" a real thing? or did the realtors make it up to scam landlords that don't speak English?

My children live on base with their mother and step-father. I'd like to send a bday present to my son, but the company that sells the gift item is based in Hong Kong; i.e., no USPS option for delivery; it's FedEx only.
I contacted the USO on base to see if they might assist. The rep. told me that all buildings on base have a Korea-based address that can be delivered to by FedEx. My son's step-father gave me the the Korea address of the building they live in. That part was easy.
My question is: Are FedEx drivers let on base to deliver packages? Or does the driver simply deliver to the main gate, leaving the final delivery in the hands of base personnel?
I'm more curious than anything; I really just don't want my son's bday present to get lost somewhere.
Thanks!

Thinking about shipping my Tesla over for the PCS. Anyone know if there are charging ports or outlets at the on-base housing?

I'm a SrA and got tentative Approval for CSP. We are aiming for June. We have a departure date end of May and RNLTD in July. It would be me, spouse and a two year old. I'm looking for some fun things to do for family, date nights, tips and anything useful or that you wish you would have known. I like to plan ahead.
So far we've been warned of Songtan Sally, and told to go to Iteawon (spelling?) and Mud Fest if that ever happens again. Anything contrary to this? Or to add. We are extremely excited.
