Most people never ask. They send a beautifully designed resume into a parser that flattens it into noise then wonder about the silence.

The hiring pipeline is a system and like any system it rewards the people who bother to learn how it actually behaves.

Learning the machine is not beneath you. It is part of the job of getting a job. You would not push to a repo before reading how it builds. Do not apply into a system you have not bothered to understand.

You can learn this. Look at which ATS the big US employers actually use and a plain guide to tailoring a resume to a specific description without stuffing it into keyword gibberish.

I've been running it for about 1 year now, and I'm capable of building websites, doing SEO, running targeted ads on Facebook & Google, email marketing, custom software solutions and creating marketing content for Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok.

The thing that helped me most wasn't rewriting anything. It was sitting down first and listing everything I'd done across school and every job. Projects, results, tools, small fixes nobody asked for. You forget way more than you think and some of your best material is stuff you haven't thought about in years.

Once you have that list, write your bullets around what changed because you were there, not what your job description said. Recruiters skim for outcomes. The screening software before them just matches words from the posting, so where it's honest, use the posting's wording instead of your own.

For the keyword part I check mine against the specific posting at resume.zoevera.com. But the list does the heavy lifting. The tool can't add anything you didn't remember to write down.

I’m wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with Orlando Health’s hiring process.

Here’s my timeline:
- applied for a position a while back
- an initial interview from recruiter
- next week an interview with the team manager
- 2 weeks later the tech interview
- then 2 weeks later I was invited to attend a full-day onsite panel interview(they did cover my travel expenses for me to fly from LA to Orlando.)
- a week after the invitation, the final interview

Overall, I left feeling really positive. The panel interview went very well. Everyone I met was upbeat, welcoming, and genuinely engaged throughout the day. A number of the interviewers even came up to me afterward and said they hoped I’d end up joining the team, which made me feel like things had gone well.

However, it’s now been about three weeks since the interview, and I haven’t heard anything.

I sent one follow-up email about a week ago. The hiring manager didn’t respond, and the executive assistant kindly replied. But said she didn’t take charge of updates regarding the hiring process, even she was the person scheduled the meeting.

I’m trying not to read too much into it, but the waiting has definitely been difficult. I know hiring timelines can vary, especially in large healthcare systems.

Has anyone else experienced a long wait after what seemed like the final interview? Did you eventually hear back, or did the silence usually mean they had moved on with another candidate?

Why is it so hard to find a job in Orlando?
