It's not trying to be an exact clone of the omnichord, but i figured the best people to show would be the ones into strum chord instruments ;)
I still have to learn how to play it, and the thing itself is very much still in development.
curious what you'd want from something like this, i have some ideas for directions, but wondering what things you'd hope for?

I got an omnichord that had been in a man's attic for decades a few years ago. It smells highly of ozone but after my friend who is a music tech took it apart and put it back together we couldn't find anything burnt except maybe some bad cold soldering by the tuning knob.

I ordered a new chord and the machine existing is so high pitched I can hardly use it. Any ideas what to do?

Clearing out my mums loft last week and found this boxed OM27 with instructions…
Had a bit of a nosey on here and opted to buy a new power supply rather than keep hunting for a 45 year old one…

Seems like a pretty common issue with this model, after about a minute of being turned on, random parts of the strum plate are completely unresponsive. Sometime it'll detect im touching it when im not, and play a random note. its so bad that playing anything is pretty much impossible. really bummed out and hoping mine is still under warranty so that I can return it. Have owned mine for about 10 months, but I noticed the issue about 3 months ago.
if you're thinking of getting one, just know that many others on this sub have had this issue. what a rip off!

So I got this in 2021 it’s a om-84 and it used to play but I had to put a piece of tinfoil inbetween the batteries (which upon opening it up just now found why that was a thing🥲) but now it doesn’t work at all. If I plug it in + have batteries in it, it will make a clicking noise but that’s it no lights no working buttons. Does anyone know what’s wrong with it?

hello friends!! i recently bought an omnichord om-84 for an amazing price (truly the best price i have ever seen it). the guy i bought it from said it had some minor issues with the chord memory and rhythm section which have worked fine so far. but i’ve been experiencing this really weird issue where when it’s plugged in, it will make static noises and the strumplate is extremely distorted. it usually happens when something is plugged in/out, and is usually resolved by turning it on and off. i just wanted to know if anyone has experienced the same issue, or if they happen to know someone who does services in the LA area? thank you!! :))

This may make some of you wince, but i don't plan on ever reselling her, and it makes me happy and want to play more! ♡

I bought this Omnichord second hand for a decent price about a year ago and unfortunately did not work when I bought it, took it to a local tech wizz and he said it was near impossible to fix as he doesn't have much time to spare as its a side gig for him and it would cost me too much money to make it worth his time :( "i had a good look at the other side of the circuit board and i’ve had to dial back my optimism, unfortunately i think there’s to many hrs in it just replacing parts that are corroded, a number of which are that bad they fall of if touched. Not impossible, but close to it sadly. I could spend 20hrs just finding and replacement of the rusty parts (usually a sign they are unreliable or stuffed) better to sell it for the few hard to find chips in it or get another not corroded and use it for spears." This was his message to me after getting a better look at it, I have been finding it very difficult to find chips for the replacement let alone damaged omnichords I could strip for parts.

Does anyone know where I could find any chips for replacement or what my next step would be? Thank you :,)

Hi all. I have the privilege of having an omnichord 300. Recently though it’s started to exhibit 2 issues: staticy sound when playing the organ setting (no other instruments). I run it on batteries only. the static gets worse the louder i turn on the knob. Also there’s a drum rhythm that won’t turn off when i set it to auto chord (but it only plays on the organ setting to.) I feel like it must be something with the circuit board. Google AI summary said to clean the circuit board with a alcohol Q-tip but i’m afraid of taking it apart. any ideas? are there omnichord repair people anywhere? I live in upstate NY. I have videos i could upload but not seeing an option to post those here for some reason

Now I just need to find some batteries!

Hello all!

It's been a while since my last post... I had an unfortunate creative setback recently... My phone, and all the data on it was suddenly erased due to logic board failure. One night I left my phone to charge on my desk and when I woke up it was wiped and in recovery mode. Apple techs said it was most likely just a part defect or some kind of internal damage :(( Luckily, the majority of the data was backed up but I'm guessing about half the demos I had recorded last month are permanently lost 😭

While my phone was being repaired (thanks apple care) I worked a bit more on another project I'll talk about later. Even as all of this was happening, I had many of the songs memorized and project continued as planned.

This album is shaping up to be something I'm really happy with and I'm hoping to complete it by the end of the year if not sooner.

If this is your first time seeing a post of mine, welcome! Let me tell you a bit about this project... I am writing a novel called Project Voidcaller (working title) which is a science fiction story set in our Solar System a few thousand years in the future. The project will be spread out across illustrations, music, and this very Omnichord album. All of my projects will be canon to the Voidcaller Universe and really just be a MASSIVE way to express my creative hobbies. Despite the setbacks, I am still having so much fun with this.

Additionally I'm working on a series of experimental short films which also take place in the Voidcaller Universe! I've been referring to this as Project Liftoff!, or simply Liftoff! Two of these films are currently available on my YouTube channel and are told through classic stop-motion animation. (Also heavily inspired by the Lego movie lol... lifelong Lego fan here.)I have a couple other uploads as well and plan to upload some more behind-the-scenes animation content for those who are interested.

I'm sure I'll experiment with different film and artistic mediums throughout this project, but I can say right now the Omnichord still remains my favorite. I just play it and it sounds like outer space. It's like I'm really there and I traveled through time... I love this instrument so much. There's something just so dang magical about it and it drives me insane.

I have been wanting one of these things for YEARS!!! I don’t have an actual job— mowing lawns n such, due to parents rules n junk so far ( having to finish the last year of school before ) and I was wondering if there is any good prices/deals/sites I could try to find something affordable! I know it’s quite expensive from what I’ve seen going near $1000, maybe I am just very broke but I am trying to find something a little cheaper; do you guys have any recommendations?
