Howdy, I can get the front truck up consistently but I’m having a hard time getting the back truck up.
I filmed my most recent attempts, would love y’all’s insights. I numbered each clip for easy reference. Sorry if the camera zoom makes it hard to analyze, my phone was changing the zoom level on its own as I filmed.
Setup:
8.5 popsicle Tree deck
8.25 Slappy inverted trucks
1/8” soft risers
53mm PP Nano Cubics 93a
Clear coat spray on the curb + gulf wax
🙏🤙

Some 80s inspired tricks for today. Not really sure what the danforth boneless trick is called though

These days, I push around at most, but my style is still that of my heyday, the mid 90’s.
Back then I wore a lot of Airwalk, Half Cabs, I had Rowleys at one point…
I’m looking for shoes. I don’t need “skate shoes” per se, but I need that vibe still. My wife has me looking at Saucony and New Balance but most of those either look like I’m running a marathon or giving in to diabetes.
Suggestions for cool, casual skater shoes with more support than my $12 Amazon converse knockoffs.
Thanks.
Tom Penny Forever.

My birthday is coming up soon and I would like to ride a longboard. I've never had one, so was wondering if y'all could help me out by recommending one to me.
Peace.

I skated from 00 to 04, so the experience is basically, a kid and a driveway with a homemade take of ramp and two rails my dad got made at his work.
So, 22 years later what should i start with? I have been thinking about just skating around the nearby area and just cruising.

Been trying ride-on 5050s on my DIY obstacle. Made little progress over the last couple of days, but really a lots of fun!

I have ridden everything from Black Knights to Dogtown Bigfoots. But I recently when up to 10” and have been having fun. However, I bought this (A side note, I payed 100 dollars for this deck 10 years ago and sold it for a couple hundred. But I got this for 38 dollars. Did Supreme fall from grace, because I know it isn’t Gonz that did) 8.38 and at first I felt like it was way too small. Although I remember going from a 7.75 to an 8.25 and thought the 8.25 was huge. Nonetheless, I skated this very briefly and tried to skate my 10, but I can’t go back up to 10”. It feels huge!

I’d like to start working on my first street part, but the spots in my city suck or are non-existent.
With a fussy newborn in the house, I’ll drive around almost every day when he’s having a meltdown to get him to take a nap. I used to drive to get coffee or something, but that got expensive pretty quickly. Now I just drive around to look for spots, but it’s just crusty parking lot after crusty parking lot.
Any tips to find spots? I’ve tried looking online at different “spot-finder” sites/apps and even Google Maps, but there only 3-stairs, 1-foot drops, a really high ledge, and a nice ledge with a super long gap out over a 4(ish) stair (it’s also an instant bust).
In person, I’ve only been able to find a couple stair-sets.
EDIT: Also interested in suggestions on where/how to build a DIY. The local park by me (not the park in the video) has a lot of riffraff that likes to hang out there and it would be nice to hang with more people that are actually there to skate rather than to get inebriated and fight.
Do you ask for permission or just run it?

Grew up skating from 8 til 23 and getting back in my 30s. Been at it for about a month and starting to feel comfortable on the board again and getting some tricks back.
