I've had my Omni for almost 6 months now. TBH, I wasn't sure I'd keep it this long. When it first arrived, all the plastic pieces on the back made me question how durable it would be. Now I have a much better idea of how it holds up with regular use. I'm not a professional reviewer. This is just my own experience.

Background

I'm 5'8" and around 182 lbs. Most weekdays I spend 6 to 7 hours at my desk, with a 10-minutes break every hour. My lower back is pretty weak and tight, so part of my gym routine is focused on strengthening it. The massage and stretch mode gets some use 2 or 3 times a week too.

Pros

The backrest and lumbar support are really comfortable. It's not one of those chairs that feels comfortable at first but starts hurting after a few hours. Even after sitting in it for most of the day, I don't get up feeling stiff or worn out.

Like I said, my lower back muscles aren't very strong, so it took me a while to adjust to the chair. My back felt a little sore during the first week or two. I thought that was normal and that the chair was slowly correcting some of my bad sitting habits. Now I do feel like my posture is moving in a better direction.

Based on my height and weight, I'm not skinny, but after 6 months, I still don't feel like I'm bottoming out on the seat. That's been a nice surprise.

I also like how the armrests and headrest move with me when I recline. The recline gets a lot more use now than it did at first.

The battery last a long time too. I charge it about once every 2 or 3 weeks, I know some people worry about electronic parts failing, but none of these given me any problems so far.

Cons

The foam at the front of the seat doesn't feel as supportive, so I can't sit cross-legged on it.

The plastic pieces on the back scratch pretty easily. That might be my fault though. I've probably hit the wall or something else while reclining.

The massage and stretch mode does help my lower back, but right when it gets close to the spot I want, the mechanism starts moving back down. I wish the stretch range went a little farther.

The fabric feels soft against the skin. I got the chair when the weather was cold, so I didn't notice the heat at first. Now that it's warmer, I start feeling hot after sitting for sbout half an hour. Might grab a cooling seat pad and see if that helps.

That's all. No chair is ever going to be perfect but this one is still holding up really well.

I bought what I thought was a work pro 4000 off fb marketplace. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to adjust the seat depth.

Theres this lever next to the paddle on the right side of the chair which I assume is it, but it doesn’t do anything or I’m not using it correctly. Any suggestions?

6'4 330 Ibs. body builder. Can't find a chair that seems fit for my stature looking for something that can handle my weight without breaking. I've hear a lot of talk about libernovos or Herman Miller. both seem like very ergonomic chairs but can't handle weights over 200 in some cases. wondering if there is more than a big and tall option but a bigger and taller option? budget is around the 1k range.

Hi, i searched this reddit for some info on a new chair but found only generic answers, expensive chairs or american ones. I need more specific help.

What I need is very specific because i am big (tall + fat) and most chairs either break or are designed for shorter people (I am looking at you gaming chairs). Nearest city is 2 hours away, and it's not a big one. It will be hard to try a second hand chair before buying it.

To give some hints about preference: right now I have an Ikea Markus with leather from 10 years ago. Cushion is fine, i hate the leather as it makes me sweat, never used the head part as it's too low and far away, had to change the wheels, changed the spring every 2-3 years because it would break. Not a fan of the net to rest my back on because I feel cold there.

Budget is 300 € top

I am 1.90m tall and 130 Kg

Back pain in the lower part of the spine (L4 and L5 are in first stages of development to an hernia)

No leather (this is a must)

My church is building a new A/V booth, and due to the sanctuary layout and the booth's height, the countertop will be at bar height. ~43in H. Because of this, we are looking for stool-style chairs that will be used for 2-3 hours at a time. Unfortunately, the Herman Miller Aeron Stool chair is cost-prohibitive. I checked local used furniture outlets, but had no luck finding a used H.M. option.
Does anyone have suggestions for a value Stool-style chair that is comfortable for 2-3 hour sessions and that won't fall apart? Budget is $300-$500

My old chair only had height-adjustable armrests, so I was always trying to make them work whether I was typing, gaming, or reading.

I picked up a chair a few weeks ago. I was mostly curious because it had 6D armrests, which you don't really see on many chairs under $200. I've been moving them around depending on what I'm doing. Straight for typing, angled in for controller gaming, and a little higher when I'm reading on my Kindle. They're a little firmer than I expected, but they've been comfortable so far.

I've realized good armrests matter a lot more than I used to think.

I have been browsing this sub for weeks trying to find a solid desk setup under six hundred bucks. Every single thread devolves into the exact same routine. Someone asks for a reasonable mid-range option, and half the comments blindly tell them to stalk Facebook Marketplace for a used Aeron or Steelcase Leap V2. I get that those legacy brands are built like tanks. Buying a ten year old corporate office leftover where a stranger sat for a decade is not the universal answer everyone pretends it is. Some of us do not sit in one rigid posture for twelve hours straight. I shift around constantly, lean sideways, and take frequent breaks. That is why I started looking into options bridging the gap, like the Hbada E3 Pro 2026 model or the newer active tracking chairs. The concept of an adaptive lumbar system that actually moves when you shift makes way more sense for modern WFH habits than static plastic frames. But whenever anyone asks about alternatives outside the big two, the purists immediately dismiss them. Are we just creating an artificial monopoly for legacy brands by ignoring newer active ergonomic tech? For those who actually stepped outside the HM or Steelcase echo chamber, what mid-tier chair actually held up for your back.

Look, I like Crandall and I've already purchased the upgraded seat back and seat cushion from them but the advertised price feels a little click-baity/scammy.

In the example, the seat pad is advertised everywhere as $165 but it's only that price if you send back your current seat pad. Feels a little bait and switch but whatever.

The rub is the checkbox for "Pad Return Refundable Deposit" is required to add the product to your cart and it adds $100 to the price of the product, making the actual price of the seat pad $265. You can never actually get the seat pad for $165 without giving Crandall something they want - your old seat pad.

Customers likely just shrug it off since they have no use for their old seat pad, but making this required and changing the price just doesn't sit well with me.

I liken it to seeing new Airpods at an advertised $199 but you can't add it to your cart until you agree to send them your old Airpods, but even after you agree, the add to cart price changes to $299 so if you forget to do this, want to keep your current Airpods or lose your current Airpods sometime in between, you're out $100.

I get why they do this. I just think there are better ways to go about it.

I’m hunting for a new home office chair and recently spent a few days sitting in a friend’s old Zoom Seating Champion (model CHA2107MB, manufactured in 2005) which he found on street. I was genuinely blown away by how comfortable it was, by far the most comfortable office chair I’ve ever sat in.

The cushioning was excellent without feeling overly soft, and had great support for both lower back and, to some extent, my upper back without any hard pressure points or aggressive lumbar support. I could sit on it for hours (5’8”-10”, 170-180lbs)

Unfortunately, it seems like this model has been discontinued for a long time and Zoom Seating as it existed then is no longer really in the market. Attached is a photo of its manufacturing label.

Does anyone know this chair, or have suggestions for something with a similar feel? I’m especially interested in lesser-known commercial/contract furniture brands. I’m a little tired of searching Marketplace and finding that seemingly 90% of the recommendations and listings are just secondhand Herman Millers. I know they make great chairs, but surely there are other excellent chairs out there.

I’ve been reading threads here and I’ve got my options narrowed down, but since I can’t try them out I would really like to get some advice on the relative merits for someone like me…

Background: I‘m 5’6” and 150 lbs. I have a bad lower back, tennis elbow, and wrist pain, so I need really adjustable lumbar and arm support, and I massively prefer a plush seat to a firm one.

Lads I've found a Hermann Miller Embody ergonomic office chair on Facebook marketplace listed for £500 it retails for 1500

There is minor damage, I've attached the images the seller provided and the bio is listed below:

"Good condition. Fabric could do with a wipe with a damp cloth (some biscuit crumbs from the child), unmarked arm pads, everything adjusts as it should – height, seat depth, tilt tension, 4-way arms, backfit.

Two broken plastic fabric clips on the rear of the backrest (pictured). They seem to just rest in place anyway. Doesn't cause any issues. Just trying to be complete."

I know Herman miller is considered one of if not the best chair you can get and a deal like this is amazing but is it still worth it even with the damage?

I'm looking for a better chair to address my both lower back and upper back pain. I'm identified with both L5-S1 and C6-C7 disc bulges infact they called it protrusion and mild nerve compression due to which i have radiating pain my arms. I'm looking for suggestions for a chair that can address my issues. Was looking at sleep company, green soul, featherlite but unsure about which one to go, have mixed reviews about sleep company and good reviews for green soul and featherlite ones. I wanted to hear from someone who has tried these or something else and experienced similar pain as mine and have got relief. Would be great if you can share the chair with the model.

I'm in the market for a decent home office chair, and found both a Steelcase Think and Knoll Generation on market place for a good price.
The knoll generation has flex back support, but didn't come with the separate adjustable lumbar support add-on piece. It also has the armrest and seat depth adjustments.
The steelcase think has a fixed lumbar support, but no arm rest adjustment.
I'm a petite frame female, so weight capacity isn't a concern, any input on which one is better built or more comfortable?
