yeah so im making a minecraft clone, gonna have creative mode, survival mode, texture pack support, (currently) 200 x 200 x 20 worlds. procedural generation, and superflat worlds. still working out the kinks but ill post it to my itch-dot-io when im happy with it. As a matter of fact, I have no memory of ever playing with this DS, and my older brother barely remembers what the games were (lwk I'd also like to know what game that gameboy advance cartridge is, if y'all can even make it out from these pictures)

Making it the best travel companion possible. I loaded thousands of mp3's onto the SD, Moonshell media player, all the Nintendo Libraries and also Sega Genesis and Mega Drive. Even put a little picture of me and my daughters for the Twighlight Menu background.
I'm going to change the battery in the DS to a more upgraded version as I've heard the original batteries can be a bit unstable. Gonna have to do a bit of studying up on that first. I do have a spare DS that i believe to have a new battery in it so probably just a case of swapping them over.
Kept me busy for a few hours and I seem to enjoy setting up consoles more than playing them at times lol

guys please help i bought this dsi it's not modded i thought i use r4 on it it's on firmware 1.4.5U anyway i put the correct files and the r4 shows em empty icon when launching i am asked to power off the ds what to do how can be able to use my r4 please help and i hate how twilight menu looks i just want to use the r4 but it's not reading the sd card files i used the correct files ofc for ysmenu but nothing..

I have just found my old DSi and it had an old cartridge in it.

How do you play Mario vs Luigi (or co-op) mode in the regular 1 player story mode levels on New Super Mario Bros DS? I saw someone playing it on YouTube, but I can't seem to find out how they did it.

My bf is using my 3DS, so I'm using a DS lite to replay Pokemon Diamond (my favorite and I'll fight about it). Neither of us have a DS Lite stylus through.

I recently beat Honeycomb Beat, an obscure DS puzzle game, and have everything unlocked, except for a hidden mode allegedly called "How to Evolve" which has a difficult requirement where you must simultaneously clear 10 lines and clear a puzzle on the title screen, which got me interested.

Anyone have screenshots or footage of that game mode?

Hi i recently I managed to get one of my Japanese DS Lite back. I heard that because of the humidity there, the screens can get a yellow tint , But I've already encountered two problems: firstly, the screen isn't displaying anything, so the game isn't showing up, and secondly, I've seen colored lines appear. And there's a lag on the bottom screen when u touch the screen

For example, I tested Tomodachi Collection and only the bottom screen was displayed. I wonder if it's more of a problem with a connection that came loose inside the console. Maybe ? Help me if u can thx ;;))))

Just got refurbished NDS lite from China, and it's messy. Almost all the buttons don't work properly, you shoul press very hard to have any effect. Changed the membranes to the new ones that I had, things got a little bit better, but still messy, comparing to original DS that refurbished one is just a waste.

Left one says Disney in the bottom right corner, but the right one says “bvg games”. Are these the same game?? I’m confused. Is one more rare than the other?

A while ago I sold my ds lite but recently I ended up missing it and i bought myself a new one, problem is, in the first few minutes I noticed a few problems and i was wondering if there's anything I can do. First thing i've noticed is the off center(or like pushed down in a way?) bottom screen,then the weird clicking or cracking noise that i can't figure out if it's normal or not(that i'll leave a clip of in the comments). Any help would genuinely mean a lot

Okay so hear me out. I’ve had this DSi since it came out in 2009. Over the years of playing as a child, I’d guess it probably got some water damage here and there because I took it everywhere. But I never had ANY issues with playing it, no freezes, no power issues, not even a button problem. Recently I started playing it again and noticed every now and then I would get an error message (shown in last photo) when turning on the console. This pops up when booting any game or app on the console, including the camera, photo album & settings. However sometimes the issue would go away and I could keep playing games. Eventually it came back and hasn’t gone away. I also noticed that the time in the top right corner was changing RAPIDLY and wouldn’t sit still on a number. Weird. I tear down my console like I’ve done with many others, and the only noticeable flaw I found was the top left ribbon cable and connector. (which is under the RIGHT shoulder button) It looked like corrosion, and was a lot worse than shown in the photo. This was only after I cleaned what I could. I put the console back together, and no luck.

I should also note- I did replace the WiFi card and that did not fix the issue. I also replaced the battery, and that did not fix the issue. Is it worth trying to fix?

22 years ago (roughly) when the DS Lite was new my grandad got me a white one, she lasted until last month. I went to charge her and the charging light came on for roughly a second before going off again. I got a new charger but there was no luck there so I replaced her battery but again, no luck! Is there anything else (simple as I don't know what I'm doing really) I can try or is it goodnight for my girl?

I bought this Action Replay thing on Ebay so I could hack in Fire Red to get Rare Candies and it's not working at all. How those it even work? Nothing is showing up what's so ever.

Hey – been listening to some artists like BaileyRP and Jamie Penn (a.k.a Shoplifting) and seeing a lot more music being made by Gen Z specifically with the DS (yes I know that every generation in recent memory has sought out video game consoles to make music!).

Does anyone know of any bigger artists that have used the DS – not the Korg DS-10 – on their records/to make music?

whenever i plug my ds lite in, it sometimes shows the charging light for ~1 minute, sometimes it turns on then off, one time it started blinking..

what is up with my ds? i am using an official charger, and i have ordered a new battery just in case.

Hey everyone, hoping someone here has run into this before.

My DSi was working perfectly except the L and R buttons weren't responding. Figured I'd open it up and clean the contacts myself. Did the cleaning, closed it back up — console still booted fine, but the L/R buttons still weren't working.

Tried opening and closing it a few more times to see if I could fix the buttons. After one of these attempts, I closed it up and now the console won't turn on at all. When I plug it in to charge, the light turns yellow (charging normally), but the screen stays completely black — no boot, no backlight, nothing.

So to summarize:

Before: fully functional except L/R buttons

After repeated opening/closing: no power at all, screen stays black

Charging light still works normally (yellow = charging)

My guess is I disturbed a ribbon cable or connector on the motherboard while reassembling — maybe the one for the power/board connection got seated wrong, or I damaged something. Nothing looked visibly burnt or broken when I had it open.

Has anyone dealt with this exact scenario? Any tips on which cable/connector to check first, or is this likely a dead board at this point? Appreciate any help before I consider this thing a paperweight.
