That's not really ironic though... that's literally part of the joke- that it is a real thing.
A strong point of the humor of Mimi's comics is that Mimi's actions are supposed to be relatable to readers, or at the very least, something that could/does happen irl.
Specifically, it's knowledge from Earth in Japanese, a language she does not understand, and it is precisely because of her fascination with unknown knowledge and languages that she is drooling over the protag's tablet.
Iirc, she's the chick they defeated in the crazy word chain game with "Atmosphere", which was a concept that the people in her world had no knowledge of at the time.
Specifically, it was that she didn't know the difference between individual components of the atmosphere and the atmosphere, so when she tried to bring it back, she fucked up the concentration.
Also strong nuclear force was the word they used to win. Lol.
The idea of something just being called yuri and nothing else is killing me its like that one boomer art where everyone is lining up to read gay or whatever 😭
I love how the manga is just called "Yuri" instead of something like "Blue Flowers and the Waning Crimson Moon" like real yuri manga is called cracks me up.
I have an idea for a 2-panel comic you could do. It starts with someone confronting Mimi saying that Roy told them that she was stashing pot. Mimi responds, “You mean this?”, and pulls out a flower pot with dirt in it. The other person relaxes and asks Mimi what she’s growing, to which Mimi flatly answers, “weed”.
Does this make her a Scissor Sister? A man doing something similar would have that label applied. Then again, this is Mimi, the rules apply differently to her.
