My first visit to Elliston yesterday was awesome. God’s handy work on display with these beautiful creatures.

A few weeks ago we were hiking at Gros Morne and my husband thought ahead, and had downloaded a trail guide on the Parks Canada app. There are full out videos that explain how pitcher plants live on the Tablelands and how serpentine (type of rock) is formed. If you like learning about geography, flora and fauna, check it out!

Just make sure you download it ahead of time since there is very little reception at the park.

We'd probably save more kids from life altering/ending harm if the provincial government focused on ATV and escooter safety rather than fighting culture wars around medical care.

It seems like every week there's another ATV accident that kills or maims some more kids. If you spend any time driving, you often encounter unsupervised kids riding ATVs in places they shouldn't be riding. E-scooters are becoming a new problem here where kids are riding them in unsafe ways.

I will note that in this latest incident there seems to have been an adult around. Unfortunately, it sounds like one or more of the kids has suffered a permanent injury.

Hey all, I’m looking for any recommendations for professional piercers in the CB area. All my Google searches keep pointing back to tattoo studios who don’t do piercings or don’t have someone regularly on staff.

We have been unable to secure a reservation for the car(minivan) on our *return trip* mid-August. (Port aux Basques - Sydney). We have a booking incl. the van to get to Nfld about 10 days earlier. And a booking for a walk on for the trip back as of this time We have been calling and will keep calling daily to see if there is anything that opens up (cancellations happen all the time right?) .

On one of our recent calls, it was suggested that we reserve an "open booking" for the car on the return sailing, that our walk ons are booked for. So we did that.

As for the dog, he will cross in the van - it is the shorter trip) He could squeeze into their max sized kennel, though I don't think it is adequately sized and want to avoid this option. I would also have to purchase a airline approved kennel for this option.

So we really "have to" get the car on, not just because we need our wheels, but because the dog will cross in it.

If I am understanding correctly we should get there early, like even early for the sailing *prior* to ours. That would not be a problem as we have booked a stay nearby in an AirBNB.

Does anyone have any ideas /thoughts on how we can improve our chances?

Has anybody successfully made an open booking for their vehicle and got it on the preferred sailing?

Very sad news… Deepest condolences to those affected.

I purchased this brand new vehicle, I paid full price for what I believed was an untouched, brand-new vehicle. The concern with the vehicle was only brought to my attention after I had completed the purchase, paid for it, taken ownership, and the keys had been handed to me. At that time, I understood the issue to be a relatively minor door adjustment.

It was only later, after reviewing the body shop estimate, that I learned the repair was significantly more extensive than I had originally understood, involving replacement of the right front fender, repairs to the door, and repainting.

Had I known the true scope of the repairs before completing the purchase, or even when the issue was first brought to my attention, I would have wanted the opportunity to consider another new vehicle before deciding how to proceed.

During our discussion, I also learned that transport damage requiring repairs is not uncommon and that these repairs are typically completed before vehicles are sold. While I appreciate that repairs can be performed to a high standard, as a customer I purchased a new vehicle with the expectation that it had not required significant body repairs before I had the opportunity to enjoy it. Learning this only after my purchase changed the ownership experience I believed I was buying.

I appreciate that the dealership has accepted responsibility for the repairs and is covering the associated costs. However, from my perspective, the issue is not simply who pays for the repair. It is that I paid full price for a brand-new vehicle and now find myself accepting a vehicle that requires significant body repairs before I have really had the chance to enjoy it. I also remain disappointed that replacement is not being considered, particularly since I was never given the opportunity to make that choice before the purchase was completed.

Am I overreacting?
