Youtube can be so isolating and hard.

I wanna change that.

Ill answer anything I have a perspective on.

I think I niched down too much. I cannot make another video about the same topic, but out of 4 times that I have tried branching out, 3 did badly (with one doing TERRIBLY), and 1 is my best video to date (500k views in 5 months). I don’t want it to stop making money because I won’t get sponsorships offers if my view count gets too low, and neither will I get the adsense paycheck I am used to now. I average 70k views per video after a month. Any advice?

Not sure what’s going on or why but my shorts have been underperforming massively with the last 3 uploads. I’ve never had such low views before even my first trial videos did a lot better!

It was like an over night switch where my videos just stopped getting views and engagement. I haven’t changed a thing (if anything I’ve tried to push the hook at the start of the video compared to my order videos openings).

My friends say they no longer get my videos recommended and have to search up my channel now.

Very frustrating as I spent 2-5 hours on a short video (writing the script, filming, editing etc) and now it feels like YouTube is working against me?!

I upload shorts 1 to 2 times a day and despite my shorts getting the same stats I always get (80% stayed to watch vs swiped away rate, 125% avd), my shorts are dying out at 700-1.1k views. I normally get 20k-125k views per short since the end of March.

Someone reuploaded three of my original songs on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music under an account impersonating a major label (not naming it, it'd make my songs searchable). Fake account, barely any subscribers, obviously not the real thing. All three are distributed through AfrobeatsDistro, run by The Jungle Recording Company / Jungle Entertainment Ventures.

Then the same account filed Content ID claims on two of my own original uploads and blocked monetization on them. So now I'm disputing claims against my own channel filed by the people who stole from me.

I've done the usual: YouTube copyright complaints, Content ID disputes, reports to Spotify and Apple Music. I've also emailed AfrobeatsDistro and Jungle's support three times over three days asking them to act and asking what their dispute process even is. Total silence.

YouTube won't remove the videos either, since it came through a "partner" distributor, so it's on me to resolve it with them first, and they're not answering.

Has anyone dealt with AfrobeatsDistro or Jungle before? Is there any actual way to make an unresponsive distributor act, or escalate past them? DistroKid and TuneCore both have a real DMCA process, this one doesn't seem to. Would take any advice at this point.

I get, over the course of 8 to 10 days around 1500 views with a video. My last video (same niche, same style) suddenly gets recommended by youtube to the wrong audience and views dropped like hell. Around 400 after 10 days. (Tiny niche btw)

Now comes the funny part - youtube doesnt recommend my new video but the stats, except for a awesome CTR, is completely fcked and i get 1/3 of the views i get normally.

Is this normal behaviour or will it get to normal ever again? I mean.. i did not change anything.

Maybe some of you guys experienced something similiar to this?

Over the last month I've been documenting how YouTube distributes Shorts on a small channel.

A few days ago I accidentally ran an experiment.

I normally upload consistently, but I didn't upload anything for about 24 hours.

The next day YouTube suddenly started pushing several older Shorts through the Shorts Feed.

What surprised me wasn't the number of views. It was which videos got tested.

Some were:

• 2–3 weeks old
• not my newest uploads
• not my highest-performing Shorts

It looked like YouTube was sampling my back catalog rather than focusing on recent uploads.

Later that day another smaller wave hit different older Shorts.

I'm not claiming that stopping uploads caused this. Correlation isn't causation, and one data point doesn't prove anything.

I'm curious whether anyone else has seen older Shorts suddenly re-enter the Shorts Feed after a break in uploading, or whether this was simply coincidence.

To make a long story short... I started my channel years ago with talking head videos. I then took a long break, came back uploading adventure travel videos. They mostly performed "meh." In February, I went back to the talking head format in a different niche. I've gained 10K subs since then, leaning in.

That said, I still really enjoy making the adventure travel videos and think I do a decent job at them. I honestly like them better than my talking head stuff. But they don't do well on my channel with a bunch of subs expecting something completely different.

So it's probably best I start a new channel dedicated exclusively to adventure travel. My question is:

Should I reupload my adventure travel videos on my new channel? If so, should I unlist them on my original channel? I know I'll get a Content ID notification. I assume I can just ignore it since it'd be from me.

Any thoughts on this are appreciated!

Hi everyone, just looking for some advice. Most of my shorts end up getting stuck at the 1.2k views mark despite me trying to implement decent hooks and video quality. Similar creators in my niche (transformers toy videos) will post a video with shaky camera quality, bad audio, no voiceover/terrible hook etc and get way more views. Is this just lack of being in the game for long or are they doing something that I’m not aware of.

I think I may have shot myself in the foot with some of my early shorts gaining a large Indonesian audience (I am in the UK and have no links to Asia in my videos) as well, which I’m unsure is translating to all of my shorts.

Any help would be massively appreciated.

I feel like my views are pretty healthy for my niche, pulling 1-2K views on pretty much every video and slowly building subscribers.

Most videos sit around 33% swipe rate (which is pretty bad for shorts afaik) but the retention is always 100%+ which makes me think when YouTube pushes the content to the right audience they’re enjoying it.

I don’t think it’s a hook issue as i’m pretty conscious of giving each video a decent hook.

I guess my question is, does the swipe rate matter in the long term if the retention is very good? I’m not worried about videos going massively viral, just want to see exponential growth over time.

Started Uploading After 8 Years and idk where to start. Would be wonderful if you can give me content Ideas that might gain views and how to research my video ideas and how to make videos that people would want to watch?

hello, I wanted to make videos about Minecraft. One was maybe playing with friends on mods and horror mods and the other one was playing a Minecraft server like life steel SMP For example. Would that ruin the algorithm and make me plummet in views?

So i make BookTube videos and im struggling to get views. I was getting around 300-400 views, woth my best video getting around 700. Then life happened and I had to step away from YouTube for a year.

Now im back to making videos but im not getting anywhere close to those views anymore. Im lucky if a video breaks 100 views now. The strange thing is that I did not lose any subscribers during my time away. Im not sure what to do to catch attention.

I feel like my thumbnails, titles, descriptions, etc are solid, and i know book content in general is a tiny niche, but not sure what else I can do.

Would anyone mind giving me an Audit? Not sure if thats against the rules. If so, just general advice would help too.

I have a YouTube Shorts channel with around 1.8K subscribers. I didn't upload anything for almost a year. Recently, I started posting Shorts again, but every video is getting 0 views.

The videos are set to Public, and there are no copyright or restriction issues. I've uploaded multiple Shorts, but none of them seem to be getting picked up by the algorithm.

Has anyone faced a similar issue after being inactive for a long time? Should I keep posting consistently, or would it be better to start a new channel?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've been averaging around 1000 views per short for the past three months but my short on Monday didn't crack 200 and my short today is also dead. No changes on my end.

Did the something change?

I've seen people saying that they haven't been getting any stats for days and if so it was 1-2 impressions per few hours, meaning that the algorithm was still cautious and learning where to promote your stuff, but how long does it actually take? How long should a new channel wait for to get some traction?

My one shorts video got 66k views with %90 stay ratio and %110 percent watch rate. The line was straight as possible. And my other video just got 0 views. And i posted another one which got 25k and still climbing. And i posted another one just to get 2 views both of it being me. I don't spam videos I only post a day or so.

Just applied after hitting 3k watch hours but at this rate I’ll probably have the 4k when it’s approved with how slow it is lol

That’s not even close. Simple math tells you that’s a CTR of at least 10%.

I'm a new creator, and I'm a bit confused about how YouTube is distributing my videos.

My first video only got around 10 views after two days, and since then it's been getting just 1-2 views every few hours. I uploaded another video today, and so far it has 0 views.

Is this normal for a brand new channel? Does YouTube take time to test videos before giving them more impressions, or could I be doing something wrong?

I'd appreciate hearing from other new creators who went through the same thing.
