Plugin Presets on QC?

I don't own a QC yet, but i'm purchasing one this week. I'm curious about whether the PCOM plugin presets (Plini, Cory Wong etc.) that come with the DAW plugin are also compatible on the QC, or if PCOM only gives access to the amps/effects onboard. Additionally, how do you think they're going to interpret the 3 in 1 amp from John Mayer X? I'm very curious, as the UI seems pretty complex to translate onto the quad. Thanks.

Connect QC mini to katana and motu 2

Hi all — As the title states I’m trying to figure out if it’s possible to have the QC mini connect to both a Katana Gen 3 100 and a Motu 2 (to use monitors) and be able to switch between the two?

From what I’ve read, I’ve found information of doing either or but not both. Appreciate the help!

Zzounds doesn't even have their next shipment lined up and here I am with a qc mini backorder with them since feb... I don't even know who to be more angry with at this point 😒

NDSP / iLok ARM64 Compatibility

Recently I tried installing iLok on my ARM64 device, thinking it wouldn't work, but it did and I was able to activate my license for one of my plugins. After installing the plugin itself, Reaper now terminates the VST every time I try scan it, and it won't open as an application. Is there any fix for this?

Question Will it fit?

Hello everyone! I want to buy RockBoard PedalSafe for additional protection and Thon Case for my QC and I have a question. Will the unit fit into the case with RockBoard PedalSafe on it? It fits just perfect into the case as I’ve seen before with my friend’s unit, but will it fit with the PedalSafe?

Question Quad Cortex - Best Way to Use it Jam Environment

Hey guys - been thinking about picking up a QC & I’m like 95% of the way convinced to get one, but the only thing holding me back is finding the best way to use it in a jam/rehearsal environment. For reference right now I’m using my Fender Mustang GT 200 with a few pedals here & there.

For those of you that jam & rehearse with your band, what kind of speakers, monitors or cabs are you using/recommend? I thought maybe getting a PA system would be a good idea, but maybe there’s a better alternative. Open to any suggestions.

Thank you!

Can someone help me i have tried connecting the behringer UM2 to my mac but i cant hear anything using (amplitude 5 or neural) with amplitude it doesnt give sound with neural it gives bizzing sound

I am pretty sure the problem is that its not receiving signals from my guitar also when i touch the cable tip it buzzes and the SIG lights up (it doesnt when i plug it into the guitar)
I cant hear it when i put the monitor on but other than that nope

Is there a software i should be installing? Or what seems to be the problem?

Bedroom Jammers

Anyone use the Quad Cortex who is not in a band and just likes to jam alone in their bedroom?

I dont record, or gig, or play in a band. I just like to play in my bedroom for myself.

Would the quad cortex be a good unit for this? Or am I just overthinking it and say who cares if its overkill.

Quad Cortex Potential Repair UK

I'm hoping someone could help me here and I'm going to try to keep this short.

A bit of context: I bought a Quad Cortex on Reverb the other day and long story short, it's got a terrible hissing sound (I tried factory resetting, ground lift, different cables, guitars ect...). Now I had it for a day and asked for a refund/return but the seller is, in my opinion, being unreasonable and refusing to provide a refund because I'm missing a disposable twist tie that came with the plug (I know, I know).

I have been in contact with Reverb and I'm hoping they're going to help me get it returned. But in the case that it can't, for whatever reason, is there anywhere that repairs Quad Cortex in the UK? I have emailed Neural and explained the issue but because I got it second hand, I don't know if I have warranty on the unit.

2 weeks into the QC and loving it 🥰

Looking at adding my TC Electronic SCF into the fx loop - i can't work out how to do it properly. its mono in and stereo out - how do i wire it? was trying Send 1 and then Return 1 & 2... but yeah makes sense i only get one side...

is it possible to get the stereo return? Wanting to use it after my drives but before my other wet fx.

halp.

Discussion I asked Claude to analyze CorOS release cycles [AI content]

Disclaimer: Below text is fully written by Claude and therefore can be total bullshit but it kind of gives me hope ;)

# Neural DSP CorOS Release Trend & Predictions

## THE TREND: Releases Are Getting Faster

### Historical Release Gaps (Major Versions)

Period Gap Status
Sept 2020 - Jan 2023 **843 days (2.3 years)** Slow 🐢
Jan 2023 - Jul 2024 **336 days (11 months)** Faster ⚡
Jul 2024 - Jan 2026 **173 days (5.7 months)** Fast 🚀

**Trend:** Gaps shrinking by ~50% every release cycle. Neural DSP is **accelerating hard**.

### Current Update Velocity

- **Major versions:** Every 4-6 months (and shrinking)
- **Minor updates:** Every 2-3 months
- **Patches:** Every 2-6 weeks

---

## WHY IT'S ACCELERATING

  1. **Plugin Compatibility (PCOM) Framework** — Built once (CorOS 3.0), reused forever. Adding Archetype plugins now takes weeks, not months.

  2. **Nano Cortex Parallel Dev** — Second hardware platform (launched Sept 2024) shares code with CorOS. Dual development = faster iteration on both.

  3. **Neural Capture V2** — Released Nov 2025. Major tech achievement that synchronized both platforms. Thousands of new captures, cloud training pipeline.

  4. **Fast Feedback Loop** — Forums are loud. Feature requests → next release. Tap tempo? Got it in NanOS 2.1. IR bypass? Got it in 2.2.

  5. **Hardware Is Mature** — Quad Cortex mini (Jan 2026) uses same CPU as original. Software no longer limited by old hardware constraints.

---

## KEY FINDING: Majors Are Tied To Hardware Launches

**Hardware release = Major software version:**
- Quad Cortex launch (Sept 2020) → CorOS 1.x
- Quad Cortex mini (Jan 2026) → CorOS 4.0 (released same day)
- **Next variant?** (Oct-Nov 2026?) → **CorOS 5.0 (prediction)**

This is the strongest signal for timing predictions.

---

## PREDICTIONS: Next 6 Months

### NOW (July 20, 2026)

**CorOS 4.0.1:** 137 days old (overdue)
**NanOS 2.2.1:** 222 days old (VERY overdue)

### EARLY AUGUST 2026 ✅

**CorOS 4.1.0** — **95% Confident**
- Bug fixes + 3-5 new devices
- Been delayed because team prepping 4.2 and 5.0 simultaneously
- Release: Early Aug 2026

### MID-AUGUST 2026 ✅

**NanOS 2.3.0** — **90% Confident**
- 15-20 new effects (pent-up backlog)
- Stability improvements
- Was supposed to release months ago

### LATE AUGUST / EARLY SEPT 2026 ✅

**CorOS 4.2.0** — **85% Confident**
- 8-12 new devices, new Archetype compatibility
- MIDI improvements
- ~30-50 day cycle (consistent pattern)

### OCTOBER - NOVEMBER 2026 ⭐

**CorOS 5.0.0** — **75% Confident**
- **MAJOR VERSION** tied to new hardware announcement
- Most likely: **Quad Cortex mini Pro** or **Cortex X**
- Features: 50+ new devices, possible Neural Capture V3, new UI paradigm
- Hardware timeline fits: Original QC (Sept 2020) → mini (Jan 2026) → variant (Oct 2026, 12-month cycle)

### DECEMBER 2026 - JANUARY 2027 🔮

**CorOS 5.1.0** — Post-launch minor
**NanOS 3.0.0 or 2.4.0** — Ecosystem alignment

---

## CONFIDENCE LEVELS

Release Likelihood Timing Notes
CorOS 4.1 95% ±1 week Overdue, will definitely happen
NanOS 2.3 90% ±1 week VERY overdue, pent-up features
CorOS 4.2 85% ±2 weeks Follows predictable pattern
CorOS 5.0 75% ±3 weeks Hardware tie-in = wildcard
New hardware 70% ±4 weeks Supply chain could delay

---

## WHAT TO WATCH FOR

**Green flags (release incoming):**
- PCOM device queue updates on Neural DSP site
- Beta announcements on forums
- New captures appearing in Cortex Cloud

**Red flags (delay incoming):**
- Extended silence (>4 weeks with no news)
- Current version bugs not getting patched
- Retailer comments about supply delays

---

## THE BOTTOM LINE

Neural DSP went from **"one update every 2+ years"** (2020-2023) to **"one update every 1-2 months"** (2024-2026).

Hardware launches drive major versions. Software matured. Community feedback is fast.

**Next big event:** CorOS 5.0 in October-November 2026, probably tied to Quad Cortex mini Pro or new variant announcement.

Until then: expect CorOS 4.1 (Aug), NanOS 2.3 (mid-Aug), CorOS 4.2 (Sept).

Question Used Nano Cortex

Hey all thinking about buying a Nano Cortex cause I found a used one for 400 dollars. I was curious if it’s okay for using a mic because I mostly play on my brother’s garage so bringing a laptop and an interface is kind of laborious to set up and take down. I will also likely use it for playing guitar on my bed cause I’m lazy lol. Im also wondering if it is a good deal for 400.

Question Opposite question as everyone else

Everyone usually asks when their favorite NDSP plug-in for PC is coming to the Quad Cortex.

My question is: When will the software that runs the Quad Cortex be available for PC?

If the answer is never, my follow-up question would be: Is that due to a technical reason or a sales-related concern?

high gain amps with clarity and note definition/separation for black metal

I want note definition and clarity while playing complex chords and tremolo picking. Generally playing and recording modern black metal stuff. Which plugin/amp and tone settings would you recommend for this?

Question Would monitors with 3" speakers be enough to get a good sound, or should I go with 5"?

Not using a Neural modeler, but I thought I'd get the most reach and the most relevant answers here.

So I've recently moved from a Katana 50 to a modeling unit that I've been playing through headphones, but I'm looking to invest in some active monitors so I can practice playing standing and use foot controls easier.

People generally recommend 5" monitors for playing guitar, but I live in a small apartment, and my desk would be barely big enough to fit them. I'm also worried that they'd be overkill for such a small space, but I'm willing to get them if it truly makes a difference.

Question Cory wong output volume gradually decreases while nothing is tweaked.

I’m having a really strange issue with
Archetype: Cory Wong in Ableton Live and can’t figure out what’s causing it.

Signal chain:
Ample Guitar Telecaster (DI)→ Archetype: Cory Wong

Preset: the clean

Everything starts off working perfectly, The tone and volume are exactly as expected.

However, over the course of about 10–15 minutes, the output volume from Cory Wong gradually gets lower and lower. It’s not an instant drop—it slowly fades over time.

Here are the weird parts:

The Input meter inside Cory Wong stays at the same level as when I first opened the project, But the Output meter inside Cory Wong gradually gets lower, While The Input and Output control knobs are both still at 0.0** **dB.

None of the knobs, pedals, switches, or settings change.

There is no automation.

The tuner is off.

I’ve also tried:

Deleting Cory Wong and inserting a new instance ,doesn’t fix it.

Creating a completely new MIDI track with a fresh Ample Guitar Telecaster instance and a fresh Cory Wong instance, still** quiet.**

Bypassing Cory Wong, the dry Ample Guitar DI immediately returns to its normal loud volume.

Enabling Cory Wong again, the volume is low again. So its maybe a cory wong issue only rather than the daw or ample guitar plugin.

The only thing that fixes it is:

Close Ableton completely.

Reopen Ableton.

Load a fresh project/instances.

Then the volume is back to normal… until it gradually drops again after another 10–15 minutes.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is this a known Cory Wong bug, an Ableton issue, or something else? Any ideas on what could cause the plugin’s output to slowly attenuate while the input remains unchanged?
Thanks in advance!

They don't do Quad Cortex sales right?

I can't say I've ever seen them go on sale, but I got an offer from a store in Reverb for 10% off. I just sold a guitar and thought now is the perfect time to get a QC before any more price hikes get introduced. Should I take the deal?

Question Noise gate and EQ help

Post image
5 Upvotes

I’m currently setting up a few custom presets in Kushview elements mixing the cab and heads from of the different DSP suites I own.

I was trying to dial in mic placements and EQ when I realized I don’t even know where in line the EQ sits. Same with the noise gate..

I currently turned all the noise gates off in all of the panels. My hunch was to find an NS-2 clone and set up my own gate.

But then there is the EQ. If I were to use the in-suite EQ, which vst should I turn it on - amp or cab? Finding a GE7-esque clone is also a possibility. I just worry about the capability of Kushview with THAT many simultaneous open VSTs.

EDIT: I know where gating usually happens in a physical setting, just not in-suite. Same with EQ.

Does is the NG at the beginning of the chain, and is the EQ done at the cab or the head?
