Are there folks who play with only 96 or FFG era set cards and still enjoy them?

I jumped into Netrunner right around the time of release of Data & Destiny specifically because I thought the "factionless" runners were incredibly cool. Some of my favorite memories of the game include trying to make absolute jank Adam decks that played like Criminal on steroids (and often resulted in suicide runs) or absolutely stacked Sunny decks that would make Shapers jealous.

So a decade later I finally stumble back into the game because my son found a box of old cards and as I'm starting to play teaching games with him I feel a bit sad that if we ever played Standard in-person with other people I can't ever use these.

Version 1.4.0 of the NetrunnerDB Deck Viewer is now available.

This time the focus was on display: the layout has been thoroughly optimised for different resolutions and now adapts cleanly to tablets and smartphones. At the same time, there are far more ways to personalise the view – from the identity layout and the width of the card area to the number of cards per row, a lot can now be adjusted to your own taste. You can find all the changes in detail in the changelog right inside the app.

I play super casually and something I love are the incidental narratives that come from decks.

As an example, my gf has a powerful Quetzal deck that generates a lot of value from [[Quality Time]], [[Liberated Account]], [[Katie Jones]], and [[Bloo Moose]].

So essentially, Quetzal goes on a relaxing vacation with their BFF while absolutely decimating the poor corporation.

I need some ideas to store cards, that would allow for easy "expansion" when I inevitably buy new card packs - currently I own System Gateway, Elevation and Vantage Point and my aim is to have the cards seperated by Corp/Runner, and then each faction sorted/separated by card type(Agenda, Operation...) for easy deckbuilding.

How do you store your own cards? I could use just two albums, but that would be problematic when I buy new sets - I would need to move most of the cards to make room for new ones. If I use card album I thought about storing 3 cards in each sleeve/pocket - is this viable?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, it is a first card game I ever got to and I never had to deal with card storage before.

I'm not sure if I'm hallucinating but I could have sworn there used to be a PDF guide that is distinctly separate from the current learn-to-play guide that was literally step-by-step instructions of a tutorial game for 2 brand new players. I can't find it anymore and this is a huge bummer because I am trying to teach two younger children the game and if they had a blueprint for what to do exactly for the very first tutorial game I think it would be super helpful.

They have this kind of thing for the Pokemon TCG starter sets and that's been super great to introduce very young kids to card games.

I put together a small web app that takes any NetrunnerDB decklist and renders it visually — grouped by card type, with the actual card images, just like you'd lay a deck out on the table.

Just paste a decklist URL (or UUID) and it shows the deck. A few things it does:

• Cards grouped by type (Agenda / Asset / ICE / …), copies shown as little stacks with a ×N badge
• Influence shown as pips, plus a quick legality check (deck size, agenda points, influence limit, copy limits)
• Hover a card for a big preview with the rules text (symbols rendered) — or switch to image-only / text-only
• Three identity layouts, adjustable cards-per-row, drag-to-reorder sections
• History of your last decks, deep links, light/dark theme

It's a free, frontend-only fan project — all card data & images come from NetrunnerDB (huge thanks to them). No account, no tracking, nothing to install. Not yet optimized for mobile devices.

Hello everyone, I made a thing for casuals like me.

Drafting a la Slay the Spire/ Hearthstone arena style. Made for casual Netrunner lovers who can't build good decks (me), and just want to play kitchen table games with the cards they own (also me).

Also a good chance to table janky cards, old cards, or banned cards in a less competitive environment.

Ive been experimenting with Thule recently - specifically an archetype center ground cord damage. Most of the list I found only aimed to do a couple of core damage and fast advance ontological. I've been experimenting with going all in on core damage to be more of a prison archetype which was really effective when I could get it to fire. In a few games last night on Janet, I had locked the runners down after 4-5 core dmg so they had no hand for the second half of the game

Where I'm stuck is how to give them tags. Seems random but giving tags is a core requirement for Hypoxia and End of the Line and Unleash (Tyr combo)

Suggestions?

I’m starting out the game (and already falling in love with it), playing on the corpo side most of my games (did some match against AI as the runner to get the flow and understand the basic loop of the gameplay).

I read somewhere that beginners tend to find corpo strong, while running seem really hard to pull, but after some games, runner seems to have the upper hand, and dictate the pace of the game way more than I do.

Only played with the gateway + booster, René vs Wayland (build to last), about 5 games with those decks, and my friend has won 3 of them (pretty close calls). We are about the same level in board games, and both beginners in Netrunner.

The overall feeling was that I was on a clock, and he would breach anything at some point, and if I revealed my Pharos too early for example, I would eat a Botula and just cry. It’s also pretty hard for the moment to make decisions on what I should protect (obviously I need to build some ice in HQ/RD to not get behind too fast).

Am I just delusional thinking runners have minor (or maybe major) advantages ? Does it get better with expansions ? Was it just about matchup ? Or maybe just skill issue ?

Side question : if you have any good recommendations for a balanced matchup with 2 decks that we can try out, I’m all ears !

I was wondering what happens to Conduit when hosted on cards like Madani (https://netrunnerdb.com/en/card/35028).

Scenario: I host Conduit on Madani, then i make a successful on R&D. Should i put the counter on Conduit? And does it keep the counter(s) once i properly install Conduit?

Because I suspect a card is only active when installed, but nonetheless many daemons (like Djinn https://netrunnerdb.com/en/card/01009) icebreaker work while hosted there. I guess counter should be added even when Conduit is hosted. Right?

Hello everyone! I'd like to introduce my tiny side project called the Netrunner Core Battle Box, which are seven decklists pre-made using System Gateway and Elevation only, AKA the Core Sets.

This stemmed from meeting several new players who want more curated Core decks (such as this one right here, which started it all), instead of wading through NRDB lists or NSG's Core decklist samples, which may lead to analysis paralysis. Here, I just provide one decklist per faction so that new players can crack open their boxes, build, and immediately play. This serves two purposes: the CBB can become a boardgame for more casual players, while it can also be a way to slowly introduce others to Standard through targeted upgrade advice.

A more extensive outline of the vision is discussed in the article, and each decklist published on NRDB has instructions on how to pilot the deck, what servers and rigs should look like, and potential sets to purchase if they want to jump into Standard.

But again, the NRDB listings should also suffice for anything the new players might need. I just wanted to collate all of them under one roof so it's easier to link to new players.

I'm trying to play more and get back into NR. I have mostly played as runner since I just tend to be more naturally drawn towards it but have wanted to explore more Corp

I have been really enjoying aggro decks like Esa and Loup and am curious what suggestions you have for aggressive or disruption focused Corp decks

I've never played the game, but I just ordered System Gateway and Elevation, and I'm excited to play. I'd like to get a playmat for each "side," Corp and Runner. Are there any differences or additions in zones on the field between the original FFG version and the new NSG version I need to look out for?

This is the third episode of our Learning Netrunner Series where Nick and Eric play Netrunner while explaining what's going on as much as we can. We've tried very hard to make this an ideal for for a new player who has just learned the basic rules of the game but doesn't have things fully internalized yet.
