I recently built the silly butts breacher but had to take it apart because one of the drum springs got all screwed up. after taking the blaster apart I realized the tube was wiggling (as shown) and based on how the drum spring got messed up I think that the wiggly tube could be the culprit. does anyone know if this is normal or if I need to do anything to stop it from wiggling or maybe the tube was just cut wrong.

When I try to fire it will fire maybe 1 or 2 times than the trigger will be able to be pulled but nothing will happen and after removing the stock attachment point the spring will spring back at me
I also have a upgraded cat gf spring in the blaster but it doesn’t seem to fix any of my problems

Dropped by my local Target today to pick up a different blaster on clearance and saw that the Xshot AEB was discounted even further down from 50% to 70%. I just picked this up earlier this week for $40 and thought that was a good deal. $24 for this is incredible.

Everything was under $15. I picked up the dart tag glasses because they were in a bag with the secret shot. The secret shot 2 does not hold air, I'll probably mod it later.

Found a Longshot 2.0 on clearance for $20 at Walmar,t (posed by my wife in first pic). Personally, I overall do like the new design better, but I do like the feel of the old Longshot's forward grip better. I do have an OG Longshot too I have modded (not pictured)

As a bonus, my wonderful wife picked me up a Thrasher yesterday (second pic). Not a fan of the fact the SCAR/BCAR from the MPP/either Longshot doesnt fit it, but I imagine someone will find a way to mod one in.

This has got to be one of my better trips to the thrift store. Top to bottom, left-right, we got:

- The OG: Longshot in the NStrike color way. Definitely one to keep for the collection. The historical significance, and it feels just as fun to pick up and hold as it did back then.

- The New Kid: Elite 2.0 Turbine. As far as 2.0 goes this one's pretty solid imo and been looking for one to go with my Rapidstrike in terms of adding to the full auto blasters.

- A Classic: Hammershot. This has been my chase for a while now. To the point where I was almost considering buying a new one at (modern day) MSRP off Amazon. Clocked this right away when I went in, and it's in great condition!

- Certified Vintage Relic: Rapid Fire 20. Holy. I almost didn't recognize it at first. I thought it was a toy nailgun or power saw or something. I'm surprised the air bladder and spring piston mechanism is still working. Select fire doesn't quite work anymore, but it can definitely still single shot if you just tap the trigger. Not the best ergonomics but a full auto air-springer hybrid?! Couldn't pass on it.

- Legacy Piece: Vortex Lumitron (Praxis). Had the Firefly tech mag with a full 10 discs. I'm pretty sure the charging mechanism or the battery pay is broken/mouldy but this is a pretty cool find from a relatively short-lived series! Also my collection's only Vortex blaster!

I got a lot of positive feedback from the boxer pro mod kit I made, so I decided to make one for the vector pro. I wanted to keep it compact while still being more comfortable to shoulder. It features an adjustable stock, a riser with sights, a front grip, and a remodeled lever to lift the cover easier with the riser installed. I’ll likely be uploading these files to printables once I finalize some of the models if anyone is interested.

Still trying to figure out what’s going on with this thing.

From what I see, the mechanism holding the plunger back until the trigger is pulled is incredibly sensitive, to the point that the slightest disturbance causes it to release prematurely.

hey all!! 7 years ago, i posted to this subreddit showing off a few of the first blowguns i made as a kid back in middle school when i wanted nerf blasters but wasn't allowed to have any.

i am now in the middle of my college years and i have made many more since then, the latest few of which from the past 2-3 years are far more performant than the initial ones i made as i improved my craft abilities and got larger lungs :p

i have the money, i have a driver's license, i can go to literally any store i want in my local area and buy a plunger blaster or a flywheeler, or even DIY it myself and 3D print blasters, but i don't feel like i want to! making these blowguns, pushing the limits of what i can make out of paper, is fun and i want to continue to make more and improve on it in the future :]

TL;DR: It's a huge upgrade over Lightning. It has higher FPS, much better battery life, and much snappier trigger response.

I have got my vesper for few days, and have used it in CQB games, here is my thoughts about this blaster:

First of all, what I have bought along with this blaster: CNC trigger, smart display riser, and official bcar barrel (not GFZ one). The smart display riser is a must for me, as it can fine tweak many settings for this blaster.

FPS

This blaster is said to be 180FPS, but for some reason, I get an averaged 165 FPS with worker 1g fresh darts, while Lightning has around 135-140. And with used darts, vesper can still achieve 13x FPS most of the time, while lightning's drop to around 11x FPS. That 20-30 FPS boost is critical in actual games, resulting noticeably longer effective range.

Trigger Response

Out of the box, it already has much better response time than Lightning. In my slow-mo testing, it has around 108ms response time, compared to lightning's 158ms. In the smart riser, two params can be adjust for the response time: The hyper speed and hyper wait, which are essential the idle pre-spin speed and the delay time after trigger pulled. With those set to fastest response, the time can be as fast as 58ms, but the pre-spin is much louder. I settled in the middle ground now with around 75ms.

Accuracy

It's surely better than stock lightning in terms of accuracy, but it's still a bit disappointing for a blaster with this price point. With the official BCAR installed, the accuracy is improved with fresh darts, but with used darts I can barely notice any differences.

To address the accuracy issue with used darts, I made a 14.2mm bore barrel, hoping to improve accuracy with used darts, as it would be the most realistic use case. And I have successful result with it, now it can hit a fist-sized target from 20feet with 70-80% of shots using used darts, which is a vast improvement compare to stock barrel / BCAR barrel.

Battery life

The battery survived my 4 hours game night with 25% left, which was around 8 games. With lightning as a primary, I usually have to swap battery after 3 games.

Magazine support

As I have 4 lightning mags and 4 lightningale mags already, it would be great if they can be used with Vesper. They were tested to be compatible with this blaster by people so I didn't get extra vesper mags.

However, in my testings, they didn't work that well. The lightningale mags don't catch naturally, it requires some wiggling after inserting for them to catch. And the dart position is slightly higher, I had several times of feeding isssue happened at the game night, not sure if it's the reason or just the dart being too worn. Lightning mags catch naturally, but they still wobble.

The wobbling fit of mags did cause some problems in games. There was several times that the mag dropped when firing. As I am using full auto with short burst mainly, I suspect the fast and repetitive movement of the pusher crush the slightly misaligned mag and made them drop. And the vigorous movement in games may contribute to that too.

In short, I wouldn't recommend using lightning/lightningale mags for Vesper.

Hey there, Ive been in the nerf community for awhile but mostly as a tinkerer. I have recently been able to get a vehicle and so my ability to move around has greatly increased and now I am looking for a nerf group in the southern ontario region of canada. If you have any info on any groups around this area the info would be greatly appreciated.

Target let me buy one. So I ripped it open and took pictures. First impression. The box is HUGE! (Silly shell for scale lol). The magazines are pretty easy to use. If you own a super drum 70 it's pretty similar. The battery tray holds 8 AA batteries and with some carving out definitely can hold a pretty big lipo. For some reason there was this connector in the grip of the blaster for some reason. I thought it was for lipo out of the box but it's in a really weird place.

On to the internals. It uses dart heads for padding which I think is HILARIOUS. The cage uses 260 (I think, it's definitely not 130s) dual shafted motors that use plastic things to extend the shafts. Unfortunately it can't take daybreaks/kepler wheels unless you do a crap ton of cutting up the cage. It looks like it can take the worker smooth wheels, but I only have 1 at the moment. The wheels also have these weird roller things at the end of each shaft to keep the motors aligned. The pusher is also a 260. I haven't opened it up yet, but I plan on using a 260 to 130 converter in there. Normally I would be more than happy to put a Loki for my pusher but it might require more torque.

I plan on ordering more flywheels and then putting it to 3s lipo. If anyone wants questions answered it's just sitting on my workbench till the wheels arrive, so ask away!
