Tutorial ATTENTION: Influx of Bot activity
Hey all! Mod here. We have noticed an insane influx of bot activity in our sub lately and know a few of you have also noticed. This is something we are trying very hard to combat as it is inundating our queue and making it tough to monitor regular traffic here.
Why do you need to know? Well because a few of you have already reached out regarding it and we wanted to a) let you know that we know and b) thank all of you for helping to keep this community safe.
What are we doing to fix it? We have turned up crowd control settings and enacted bot bouncer on our sub. This does not fix the issue entirely but it helps us see who could possibly be a bit easier.
The issue with this is that regular users are getting caught up in our filters and either banned by us on accident or banned by bot bouncer. If this happens, don’t panic! You’ve done nothing wrong but we do need you to message us via modmail and let us know you’re human! We’ll unban you right away, promise.
Thanks for your patience, understanding, and help during this! We appreciate you all.
- Mod Team
TLDR: bots are taking over! If you get banned by accident, let us know and we’ll fix it asap.

Nail Tech Work Got a comment on Instagram saying stiletto shape is "out of trend"
But honestly? I think it has the most striking look, and true classics never go out of style!

Gel Metallic silver polish
In the hand photo - the middle nail has not had top coat yet, and the rest have. Once I put top coat on, it takes the silver’s shine away.
What am I doing wrong?
I’ve attached the two products I used. Is anyone familiar with vinimay? Their directions have typos and seem unclear (unless I’m missing something).
Also - I’ve tried just curing it, no top coat, and used 100% alcohol and it make the silver matte/ peels it off. So I don’t think it’s supposed to be left without a top coat.
Ahhh help!

Advice Needed isolated chrome - what do i need
so I'm recently getting into doing my own nails but I'm a bit confused on how this all chrome stuff works.
some people use a base coat and buff it, some use a matte top coat.. whats best? Do I need to wipe the base coat with alcohol before buffing it? I don't have a matte top coat currently, so I was thinking of doing that.
I was also wondering if its possible to put no wipe top coat, buff it, draw my design with no wipe top coat again, and then apply chrome to that.
any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙏🙏
