Just saw this car on the mall. $105k; but i swear to the earth when i knocked the door, its all plastic!

The front body is metal, but not the doors.

Is this a new trend? Is it more safer than traditional metal? Or is just a way to cheap out?

Starion help

I bought this 1987 Mitsubishi Starion EX last year. It’s in great condition however it’s also 40 years old and with that comes problems. I’ve taken it to a couple of mechanics and they’ve been good to diagnose faults they’re very hands off with searching for parts. They would rather work on RAV4s, I get it. I live in the country so there’s no specialist mechanics out there that want this as a pet project. Should I put this on a truck and send it off to Auckland to get it fixed or go about trying to source the parts myself? I’m really busy with 2 kids under 2 and running a business. I don’t have time but I have money.

Also, would I devalue the car but upgrading the turbo and intercooler? If I’m replacing all the coolant lines I thought now would be the best time. It’s gutless. I’m not wanting to go quick but my work van is quicker.

I’m halfway between Auckland and Whangarei
