Does Dale curve 288?
I heard that he curves the passing grade by a few points but im just wondering how much he curves, can it be upwards of 2 or 3 points?

I accepted Federal Work-Study as part of my financial aid package, but I’m a little confused about how it works. I’m an incoming freshman, so I was wondering when we’re supposed to start seeing job listings or be able to apply for positions.
Also, I’ve been trying to log into Workday, but it keeps saying my login or password is invalid. Canvas works fine, so I’m not sure if it’s an issue with my account or if Workday just isn’t set up for me yet.
Has anyone else had this problem, or does anyone know when incoming freshmen are usually able to apply for work-study jobs? Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi, stupid question from a new student getting a laptop etc. etc.
Getting a new one meeting all the required specs and whatnot, the only problem is the warranty, the laptop already comes with a two year warranty, but getting a full 4 year warranty + battery is another 200-300 bucks which I'm not trying to spend (im paying for this outta pocket)
So do they really care about the warranty and whatnot? (I'm guessing no but asking just in case)
Any responses would be appreciated thanks!

Just applied for a student job on campus. Wondering how long the process usually takes, days? weeks? Also, curious when jobs like this typically start once you're hired.
Also, if anyone's worked a campus job before, would love to hear how it went. Was it worth it? Decent hours around classes? Any tips for the interview if they even do one?
Appreciate any input, trying to get a feel for what to expect

Has anyone taken him for 490? How is he compared to other profs? Also his sessions are online, you think taking 490 online is better or worse?
Thanks!

I’m considering living off campus since it’s supposedly cheaper and had a few questions.
(I’m a transfer student starting third year, so I have no clue about the campus and any kind of information is appreciated!)
• How do you manage food?
• Cost of dorming off campus and nearby per month? (I’m okay with roommates as long as I get my own separate room)
• Is 700-900 a good range, or are there options for 500 per month?

On Tuesday, July 21 and 1:00 p.m. EDT, NJIT's Office of Global Initiatives will host a town hall to let people affected by the new DHS rule that changes the rules for nonimmigrant visa holders. You should have received an email about this titled "Important Information for International Students and Scholars - Federal Duration of Status Rule Change." I dont want to paste the link and access code because it's probably only intended for university students.
If you are an international student or have friends who are, please read through the final rule text and listen to experts on how this affects the safety of being an international student in the U.S. I know it's long and inconvenient, but you can probably learn something from it. It will help you be prepared for the town hall because you might have questions to ask. I'm still reading the text, so we can discuss it in the comments.
EDIT: oh wow, this final rule is over the top (in my opinion). International education at the U.S. will be even more prohibitive to so many people after the rule is in effect. I feel so bad for all of you who have visas and are still studying!
EDIT 2: r/InternationalStudents has its own thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/InternationalStudents/comments/1uyfoda/dhs_ends_duration_of_status_what_the_final_rule/ this covers a lot of the major impacts the final rule will have.

MechE majors: Past, present and future:
If you had a chance to have gone/go to community college for free and get some of your classes out-of-the-way and then transfer over to NJIT, would you (have- in hindsight)?
My real question I guess: is it worth 16.5K( billed) to be at NJIT for the first two years?
Got a 4K a year scholarship, and plan on commuting 35-45 minutes by car.
Thanks in advance- not an easy question.

Does NJIT take summer transfer credits if the class that I took at community college was online?

Hey, I’ve been seeing some post from different incoming freshmen about laptop recommendations.
For the workload and software you’ll be utilizing at NJIT, I’d recommend Lenovo , or Asus with these , minimum specs because prices have risen recently.
-NVIDIA RTX 5090
-64G DDR5 baseline ram
- At least 2 TB storage
- AMD RYZEN 9 9955HX3D, or Intel Core Ultra 9
-240Hz for the laptop screen

Hello,
I am currently entering my graduate studies in Masters of Artificial Intelligence and I am seeking advice on which laptops I should be buy and which laptop would be more beneficial. I have been using HP laptop. Although, I have been running into problems every time I get an HP laptop. And currently, I want to get a laptop that will last long but also helpful during my graduate studies. Any help/Advice is much appreciated! Thanks!
After noticing how barren the MIE, ASME, and the NCE servers, I decided to create a server that solely focuses on mechanical engineering at NJIT. Let me know what would you like to add on it

How are the profs? The food? I'm expecting the classes to obviously be difficult because it's a tech school. Luckily I don't have to take English or humanities. And I would assume the social life isn't the best (as I've already heard ngl)

Hi guys! Have any of you taken these. I’m taking both online and I wanted to know what to watch out for. Any tips for exams, group projects etc. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I'm looking for job opportunities at NJIT for my mom. We're especially hoping to find a position as a cafeteria worker or in the campus dining halls. If anyone knows where she can apply, who's hiring, or how to get more information, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you so much!

Has anyone ever had Eduardo Castro or Abdullah Shabarek for MECH 234 Engineering Mechanics or for any other class? I can’t find anything about both of these professors and there is no other professor teaching this course.
