Question Curious: where’s everyone from and what’s your ethnicity/heritage?

Upvotes

Random curiosity question for everyone here where is everyone from and what’s your ethnicity or cultural background?

I’m interested in learning about the different backgrounds people come from. No pressure to answer if you’d rather keep it private :)

Venting How the hell do I find a job

Been NEET for four years now. Hasn’t gotten better and I’m broker and more depressed than I’ve ever been. Don’t have a degree or drivers license (I’m well aware it’s my own fault) and I’m starting to think it’d be impossible to get a job even now that I want and need one

What do I do? How else do you guys even make money? I’m going to be seriously fucked if I can’t find something soon

Venting Life just doesn’t seem worth it

No job. Don’t even really want a job or to do anything with my life half the time. No relationships no friends and really no experiences in life compared to most people in their 20s. Maybe it’s just the modern times, maybe 100 years ago the average man in his 20s wasn’t hung up on experiences as they are today. They just lived an average life. Life definitely feels meaningless and soulless and empty and really we just here killing time.

32 sounds terrible. I don’t desire reaching the 30s milestone. “No irl friends” yeah same here I only have online ones. “No job” well that’s very relatable to us all, and some people are just fucked In ways so they can never be a productive contributing citizen. “I’m more or less waiting until I can die at this point” based, death isn’t something that I will be disappointed with I would personally rather embrace it. Death is something that can help escape the pain even if it’s catastrophic. “ I have no desire to attempt turning things around again” I like that. Same here I gave up and I believe it’s a natural action considering my personal issues that can never be solved or eased per se. “ no gf ever” well I bet he feels lonely and probably cries alot or just feels like he’s not enough. Sounds pretty painful
I think my favorite part of his post is the “I’m more or less waiting until I can die at this point” just kind of turns me on in a way.

Discussion Any other young guys give up before even trying?

I’m 22m and I’ve been a full neet for 6 years now, but even before I would hardly ever go out and try for anything in life. I feel I realised at a young age I was basically just not cut out for this shit. Every aspect of life including working, dating and socialising feels so out of my depth. Also there’s to much expectations for everything, be the smartest to get a job, be the hottest and tallest to date, be a people’s person. It’s just to much that even at a young age I realised I’m just not gonna even bother. Unfortunately being born in the modern day indoctrinates and shapes your happiness. I still feel like a loser and want love but I know it’s pointless. It’s so hard getting over these social constructs to find my own happiness.

Venting I feel like I can't watch anything anymore

This is probably a consequence of feeling too retarded, my attention span being ruined plus my migraine disorder. I just had to get fucked by my genetics. I've already taken the necessary steps about this disorder such as going to a neurologist, to no avail.

This goes for any show I used to like. It will take me weeks or months to watch anything now, even if it's something I like or historically liked. A case like this was an anime, which I liked a lot, but because of the aforementioned qualities took me forever to finish despite it only being one season long. It's not just this too, it seems like anything I like has all of a sudden become a massive chore. This is not ideal, because one, I still want to watch it, two, when I don't have it to watch I want to find something else, even if I still want to watch that, and three, it makes me very upset.

Maybe this is cope, but things could change, at least temporarily, as I saw a one hour video on YouTube without checking my phone as much, and I've been getting back into gaming more (a gacha game). I played without using my phone as much.

But I still don't see anything improving. Despite me actually being interested in my copes, I just can't seem to actually get engaged. I only have doomscrolling as my fallback.

Gm NEET Frens!

Frens, it has been a while since I made a gm post, so I decided to make one while the other gm poster is asleep 🐸

How are you all doing and what are your plans for today? I just woke up an hour ago, currently sitting in the kitchen, drinking some cobbee while making this post! My plans for today are as follows: I will play some Factorio after finishing making this post, then after that I will go to the gym to train legs and later in the evening probably some more gaming.

But first I need my morning cobbee! ☕

Venting I can't even go to the movies right

So I went to go see The End of Evangelion rerelease. I'll admit I was a bit hesitant at first as I've been pretty depressed and wasn't super interested in going, however as time went closer to the premiere I decided to go. I went with a debit card and was planning to purchase a ticket there.

You could only buy a ticket through a machine which asked for your debit card PIN. The thing is, I didn't know my PIN because debit cards don't require one in 99% of places especially for small purchases and it's not actually on the card. So I just left the theater out of anxiety, tried to look at my bank app to find it, went in to try again, and then finally gave up. I realized a few minutes later where the PIN was on my bank app but by that point the movie was about to start so I just left.

Why am I like this. Why can't I even go to the movies right. The worst part is it was a pretty packed theater and if you know End of Evangelion that's a great movie to have a packed theater for, there's so many gross, intense, emotional and epic scenes. I honestly should just rope, I don't enjoy anything anymore, I don't know how to be a human.

Discussion Anyone feels very simple-minded yet with no desire to change that?

When I see people having arguments, presenting creative deep thoughts, analyzing this or that and coming up with clever solutions to problems, constantly picking up on social cues with their brains on 24/7, the thought always strikes me that ''these people are a different species than me''.

My brain seems to be 'off' most of the time. I can understand and learn shit when I really put my mind to it but that's rare, usually I have a pretty low drive and it's nothing like these people who essentially live in this problem solving land, thinking all day.

And as impressive as that ability seems from the outside, I have no true desire to start reading books or thinking about shit in my spare time, it seems like a huge drag honestly and I'd rather do anything else.

I think this unwillingness to engage with the mind only widens the divide between normal people and me, because in society's eyes at 30 years old I'm already supposed to be this educated critical thinker who is somewhat knowledgeable about the world and is a capable guy, but I'm a far cry from that.

And it's a bit awkward when people talk to me and I see that I accidentally shatter these unconcsious expectations that they carry with my lack of knowledge and overall air-headedness.

Anyone relate?
