Announcement Unfortunately the AI bot that filters NEET exam posts has to be taken down for now.

Post image
110 Upvotes

Last month, I deployed an AI bot that filters the NEET subreddit for Indian exam posts and deletes them, and it has worked really well.

In a month, it has deleted 100+ posts, but I am unable to continue running it due to the server costs. I was running it on a free trial AWS server, but it has reached its limit for this month, so I will be pausing it for a few days and can only continue running it after the trial period resets, so you will probably see NEET exam posts that bypass our filter.

Please bear with us until we find a better solution. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Nature is alright, but the population isn’t ideal. Too many cars, too many people walking like myself, noise, hard time trying to cross the busy intersection, I don’t know why I went outside, it doesn’t change anything. The best part was going to a stupid lake.
I should’ve stayed inside and watched porn.
I usually walk during the night, but I actually did go out at 3am which it’s still dark, and I came back home and for some unknown reason I actually went back out for another stroll right when the sun came up so I clearly noticed the higher population kick in which resulted in me feeling as if it was too overwhelming or annoying.

You can even use a scale of 1-10, if words are too hard to use.

Discussion DAE feel like they have gaps in their life missing due to being a NEET?

Yesterday I saw a post on twitter reminiscing about Barbenheimer being 3 years ago and it’s fucking with my head. My NEET stint started at that time and it feels like time since then has pretty much vanished. Time moves so quick while being a NEET that I’m having constant existential crises, realizing that death is coming a lot quicker than I think and I’m running out of time to fix my life.

Huge neet loser that’s relatable and based. “Eventually going to kill myself” yeah I mean shit I feel the same. “Extremely bored and tired of everything” yeah I mean the older you get it only gets worse and I’m also quite bored and tired physically and mentally I’d say. “I wish something would put me out of my misery” yeah I mean that’s very understandable if you are suffering everyday and are hopeless. If I died I mean I wouldn’t really give a shit tbh lmao. Like fuck.

I vape fogers so I thought it would be cool to add a Foger to the picture lol. He lost his eye in a bar fight apparently. That’s what he told me.

Venting Being a female NEET is honestly depressing sometimes

I’m a 27-year-old female NEET and I only get about 150 euros a month in allowance. Most of that goes straight toward groceries.

Sometimes I’m so hungry that I don’t even want to go outside because I genuinely feel like I could collapse if I take one more step.

I make abstract art, and honestly, I don’t even know if it’s that good. At this point, I don’t really care because making art helps me clear my mind. I also use AI for some of my artwork, and it’s honestly heartbreaking when the AI-assisted images perform better than the things I draw completely by hand.

I live in a relatively small apartment in the city center, right in front of a construction site. I know I should feel lucky to have somewhere to live, and I am grateful, but sometimes it’s difficult to feel lucky when you have almost no money.

I also have paranoid schizophrenia, which makes everything more complicated. I’ve struggled with finding work that works for me and actually pays enough to live.

Then there’s AI.

I genuinely think AI and robots are going to completely transform the middle class within the next ten years, and I have a feeling those ten years are going to pass much faster than people expect.

I worry that millions of people could eventually become economically replaceable. And I’m not convinced there will magically be UBI waiting for everyone. My darker fear is that we could end up creating a permanent underclass of people who simply aren’t considered economically necessary anymore.

What scares me is how unaware a lot of people seem to be about how quickly things are changing.

There is no tooth fairy.

There is no Santa Claus.

And apparently, there aren’t many entry-level jobs anymore either.

I’ve already seen people creating entire video games with the help of ChatGPT and Claude, and honestly, I was stunned. These systems are only going to become more capable.

Maybe there is an AI investment bubble. Maybe companies will fail and hype will come and go. But I don’t think AI itself is simply going to disappear.

It feels like the era of machines is slowly beginning.

It reminds me of the Blinded by Science card from the Illuminati card game and the idea that if we completely understood what we were doing, we probably wouldn’t call it research.

We just keep building.

Experimenting.

Making the machines more capable.

And nobody really knows where this ends.

On a more personal level, I sometimes feel like I failed somewhere along the way.

I was bullied at school. I was bullied at work. Eventually, isolation started to feel peaceful. When you stay away from people, at least nobody can hurt you.

Games help me escape reality. Art helps me clear my head. I’m grateful that I have my mom, a roof over my head and food to eat, but I still struggle with feeling like I’m watching life happen from the sidelines.

I guess I’m writing this because I don’t want to suffer in silence anymore.

I’ll keep struggling forward. I’ll keep making my weird little abstract artworks. I’ll keep playing games. I’ll keep watching AI and robots develop.

And I’ll keep trying to figure out where someone like me fits into whatever world comes next.

Does anyone else here feel like being a NEET has made you watch the world from the outside? And are any of you worried about what AI and automation will mean for people who already struggle to find their place in the job market?

Venting How to cope with thoughts of roping?

Upvotes

To be fair, the majority of this is due to a disorder I have that increases suicidal thoughts. I already know that due to the fact that we live in a gynocratic society and the fact that people actually either don't care or hope for our rope rate to increase there's no point in roping, unless you make it significant, like it affecting normies. Most of the time, I don't get thoughts of roping despite the overwhelming brutality.

Usually, I try to use copes, which sometimes mitigate these thoughts, but it doesn't always. I'm not interested in hearing normie advice like "call 988" nor am I interested in "A concerned redditor..." slop.

Discussion Being a privatier is not the same as being a NEET

Some people take the term “NEET” very literally, even though it has now taken on a meaning that goes beyond its purely literal definition. This is comparable to the terms “Nazi” or “Incel”: A Nazi is not just a highly nationalistic socialist, and an Incel is not just someone who is involuntarily celibate.

To make this brief:

A NEET is someone who is not in employment, education, or training AND who is financially dependent on others, usually on their family or the government.

A privatier is someone who is not in employment, education, or training AND who is financially independent and "lives off their assets of some size, e.g. interest, profits from investments, real estate, and current assets."

Everyone wants to be a privatier; no one wants to be a NEET. That also explains the stark differences between the "NEETdom is awesome" and "NEETdom is hell" posts, because the former tend to be privatiers who think they are NEETs.

Question Any of you have family they can’t tolerate

For me I have a parent that is mentally challenged, lies in bed all day probably cause of depression, and also is somehow narcissistic on top of being a NEET.

For this reason alone I had to leave their house and become a wagie as I couldn’t tolerate living there anymore. I know the NEET life is ideal but I don’t think can qualify for buxx even if I wanted to cause technically I am still able bodied enough to work. And there’s no way I see myself returning home. I hate corporations but it’s either this or sleeping under a bridge.

Question Question about living with grandparents

I have pretty bad relations with my father, and i think my mother will want me to move out eventully too. My grandparents (specifically my grandma) said im welcome to live with them. Once im done with university, im planning on becoming a NEET because work is just way too fucking hard and miserable for me and im probably gonna get fired for being slow. Does anyone here have experience living with grandparents? If so, how did it work out? I get along with them pretty good, im just curious about others experiences.

I took back what I just said about this job in the previous post. The work intensity various tremendously in different positions. A few days before,I was doing that sitting job, basically just like a backup group, whenever wherever needed us,we are assigned to the spot. But most of the time,we just sit there and the real police is watching us.So our captain would get mad if we use phone or wear headphones, and we have to sit with our back straight to "impress" the real police. Sure that was tortment,so I got this position on the coast. How I got it,while,The captain would count the actual number of people for every specific spot, except this coast job.(He would just ask who was doing it yesterday, and let them go) So I kinda sneaked in to the group, and he didn't notice it. So here I am,lying on a rock on the coast, typing all of these, the wind softly went by.

Venting Why does society hate lonely men so much?

Why is it only us and not say, lonely women, or "lonely people" in general? By now everyone already knows the truth and that normies hate us more than anything.

I think I'm learning day by day to ignore such comments, especially since a plethora of them exist online, but why do normies only target men? The existence of "incel" and "loser" and how they're almost unanimously reserved for men proves this, and this is among all ideologies.

I've constantly heard that "gender stereotypes" are why, and that every criticism of lonely men reinforces such stereotypes, but the person in question either does not care or will make up a cope to defend themselves. What is the real reason?

I don't want to brag but I think the term "enlightened NEET" describes me very well. I just made this post because I noticed there are very few people in this sub in my position enjoying this kind of lifestyle for as long as I did and a lot of you want answers on how it is even possible to live like that and be satisfied with life. You guys may not like the answers or simply not believe me, but that's what I did and it worked even though society said I should feel miserable at this point. (I feel exactly the opposite). Ask Me Anything...
