Hi,
My teenage son and I will be driving through Muskogee tomorrow and are hoping to catch tomorrow's World Cup match. Are there any places that will be showing the match with the sound on?

Dear Muskogee, why does it suck here? IMO of course
Was Muskogee ever a cool to place to live? Like back in the old days, or was it always like this? There is never anything interesting or fun going on in town, there are a ton of angry racist and the crackheads are scary. The ones that can manage to walk in a straight line anyway. My parents grew have always lived here and they seem to like it for some reason. It's so dull that summer vacation feels like a bad thing lol. At least school is something to do 🙄

Hanging out in the water
Is there anywhere around here to just hang out in the water? I want a tan and to get my feet wet. Preferably smoke friendly. I can cook and bring a charcoal grill.

Event Primary Elections 6/16
Please get out and vote Tuesday. Polls are open from 7 AM to 7 PM. If you're in line at 7 PM, you'll get to vote.
Note that several polling locations have changed. You may see a sign at your old location; you may not. Check your registration at https://okvoterportal.okelections.gov/
The biggest thing on the ballot is SQ 832 which will raise the state minimum wage to $12 per hour in 2027, $13.50 in 2028, and $15 in 2029. Beginning in 2030, the wage would be adjusted based on changes in inflation. It also expands who's covered by the minimum wage. The state's minimum wage has not changed since 2009.
In a couple of primaries, there are only two candidates from a single party, so you'll actually be choosing the final candidate. See the election list.

Discussion Political posts
Political posts are welcome, especially as we approach primaries and critical mid-terms.
Those posts need to be something that encourages discussion, though, not unsupported claims and inflammatory AI-created images. If you've got an article that supports whatever claim you're making, then share a direct link to that article, not just the website. Use archive.ph/archive.today if you want to get past paywalls or otherwise preserve an article.

News Muskogee Hotel Demo May 8–11
I hate to see it go, but the old hotel is coming down.
The city says:
Drivers should expect lane closures and traffic delays in the downtown area during the week of May 8–11 due to scheduled demolition work. Traffic patterns will be temporarily adjusted, and detours may be in place, particularly along Main Street and Broadway Street.
Edit: The city now says they're starting on the 15th. No clue why they're starting on a Friday.
