More specifically I'm looking for songs like these:
Nirvana - Breed (kick ass intro)
The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - Bellbottoms
Queen - Brighton Rock (the guitar solo)
Mötley Crüe - Kickstart My Heart, Live Wire
Motörhead - Ace of Spades
Royal Blood - Out of the Black
Psychedelic Porn Crumpets - Hymn for a Droid, Salsa Verde, Mundungus, Hot! Heat! Wow! Hot!
Metallica - Fuel, Spit Out the Bone, Seek & Destroy (and more of their songs of course)
Arctic Monkeys - Brianstorm, When the Sun Goes Down
Friday Pilots Club - IDWBS
Greta Van Fleet - Runaway Blues
Goose - Teaprise
The Vanished People - MOKA!
RADWIMPS - Hyperventilation
Edit: here's the playlist! REDLINE. If your recommendation isn't on there, it's because I either haven't gotten to it yet, or didn't like it/didn't think it fit the list. (Or couldn't find it on Spotify, rip Gizz)
Edit 2: Thank you all for the recommendations! However, as I've started listening to them, I do think a lot of them miss what I'm going for. I'm looking for a very specific feeling. Songs with qualities like the ones above, qualities like these:
Immediate energy. Most of them don't slowly build-they hit hard with a crazy hook. (There is and can be exceptions to this of course)
Aggressive groove instead of speed. Even when they're fast, the riffs are thick and rhythmic. They're songs that make you want to drive fast rather than headbang.
Dirty, overdriven guitar tone. Lots of fuzz, distortion, garage rock crunch, or classic Marshall-style gain instead of polished modern metal.
Big memorable riffs. Almost every song is built around one killer riff rather than technical musicianship.
Controlled chaos. Some songs sound like they're barely holding together, but they're actually very tight.
Thank you again for all the recommendations nonetheless! If I get a speeding ticket I'm blaming you guys. Still going through them too, I have a lot to listen to!
