History ๐ Mini-Moras!
Anyone else out there with some mini-mora's?
Can anyone guess how old they are, and the difference between the knives in the image?
Second image I added a brand new classic for scale!

Modifications ๐ก๏ธ Mod-Mondays!
At Morakniv, we love traditions. Our craftsmanship and history are built on them.
So I'd love to see yours.
Welcome to the very firstย Mod Mondayโa place to share your modifications, custom sheaths, handles, patinas, repairs, or any other creative ways you've made a Morakniv your own.
To kick things off, here are a couple of simple sheaths I made at the very first Morakniv Adventure almost ten years ago. They've been used and abused ever since without a single issue(!).
The materials are birch bark and spruce root.
One thing Beth Moen taught me was that the white side of the birch bark should never face outward. There's no rule that says itย can'tโit's simply a longstanding tradition rooted (pun intended) in both craftsmanship and the anatomy of the bark. Her philosophy is to workย withย the material and its natural fibers, not force it into something it doesn't want to be.
The spruce root is soaked in water for about 24 hours before use so it becomes flexible enough to sew with without cracking. If it's too dry, it can split while you're stitching or later as it dries.
Once both materials dry, they shrink together and form an incredibly tough sheath.
Now it's your turnโshow us what you've made. Whether it's a small tweak or a complete rebuild, I'd love to see it.

Counterfit ๐ดโโ ๏ธ Fake Garberg
Do you guys confirm that this Garberg is fake? It's a lot thicker than normal, I measured with the caliber 4.8mm. You can see it also in comparison to a Robust which should have the same thickness. Then the grind is a bit off too and weights 220g, a lot more than the 170 it should weigh. Bought it used for about 35โฌ and I can get a refund, what do you think?

Repair โ๏ธ Remove handle Mora Scout
I have two Mora Scouts that I would like to take apart in order to properly clean all the parts. One of them seems to have a different looking "end piece" than the other.
I wonder if anyone can offer some advice regarding: 1. How do I get the handles off without specialized equipment? 2. How do I get the handles on again? 3. If some part is missing, like some type of rivet, where could I typically buy a replacement? I hardly know what to google at this point....

Knife Discovery ๐ช Rust monster
Another K.J. Eriksson Mora from 70s. Cleaned it and rust had caused some serious pitting. The blade haven't been abused otherwise. This turned out very usable, but that ugly pitting is a big minus.

Are moragniv knives easy to sharpen?
I haven't sharpened mine yet and I just have a small Arkansas Stone. The knife has a fairly large bevel almost like a steak knife or something. Are they fairly easy to sharpen just following that angle?
