Question Is bow or lightbow stronger in early game?

I want to know which one is faster at killing bosses in early game. Also which one has more mobility? I’m fan of more mobile weapons.

Question I just beat the game and I got myself up to hr 43, how do I increase my hunter rank fast?

I started the game about 2 weeks ago and finally beat the base game. I unlocked my mastery cap to 50 and I’ve been grinding the bezelguesue event quest. It’s kinda slow and I was wondering if there was a faster way to raise my hr. I’m trying to get to hr 50 to grind the bow charge gem.

Question Looking to get into Bowguns

I'm a charge blade main ever since MH4U, and with my current inability to get, or let alone play Wilds at the moment, I'm trying to expand my weapon roster in Iceborne, with my current target for the weapons I wanna try being the Bowguns (both Light and Heavy). Though I'm kinda in a rough spot atm, my wifi sucks so playing with a group is near impossible, sadly that means Fatalis and Alatreon are out of the picture for me at the moment (unless I wanna cheese the mats with the plunder blade but I don't have the patience for that). And since Safi is currently on vacation I can't really get his weapons at the moment, with the only one I got being the Safi Burstcannon that's thankfully already kitted out for Spread ammo. I also have the Furious Rajang HBG for sticky as well though I haven't used it yet

What are the ideal Bowguns for the different ammo types that I should get, and what are the best armor pieces I should craft for them? I'm also limited on deco's but I'm MR 117 so I can farm that one Teostra event quest to get more pretty quickly

Question Fatalis worth it?

Hi fellow hunters. Came back to world after a long hiatus of around a year, rememebering timings, patterns and everything, I'm having a blast, honestly. Before the pause, I completed the game, incluiding Fatalis, only the AT elders pending. I'm trying to farm Fatalis, however, I don't enjoy the fight at all, so it came to my mind, and I know everyone has an opinion, but

Is Fatalis's gear worth it? I ain't trying to play meta, only for fun. And yeah... I'd like to read your thoughts on this.

Thnx in advance, and have a good hunt!

Build How to proceed with my DB build

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hey everyone. A couple of weeks ago I got really into MHW:I, and have been going pretty crazy with, specially since I swapped to DBs.

Right now I'm starting to delve into Guiding Lands, and I'm a bit lost on how to proceed. with my build. I already did the Rajang special assignment, and have been farming Tempered Frostfang for fun and to get that really cool ice weapon, and since I can pretty reliably farm him I'm thinking of going for Azure Age TCE set. Any recomendations?

Here's my current build for reference.

A lot harder actually lol. I have solo'd her only once propably 6 months ago and now I wanted to learn this fight better. I haven't beaten her again yet but man this fight is so cool and intense!

That friggin tail swipe at the end gets me everytime. It seems theres no tell to it at all?? Or is there? Takes half of my healthbar, sheesh.. she ain't messing around.

EDIT: Ok. I got her in 25minutes and carted once. Overall was pretty bad run and can definetly improve that.

Question Should I use SAED close to the boss?

Hello, mhw is my first monster hunter game, I'm using CB. I'm almost finished with iceborne main story.

However I was wondering, when a boss is stunned or down because it hit a wall, do I lose a lot of DMG if I use SAED very close to him, or should I create some distance before using SAED.

Discussion Anyone else find Nargacuga and Glavenus really easy?

The fight with Barioth traumatized me… I only managed to hunt him on my second and third tries after watching YouTube guides, but it still messed with my head.

When I saw the next fights were Nargacuga and Glavenus, I got overwhelmed and was seriously thinking about quitting the game. I decided to relax first by fighting the MR 3★ Rathalos… and that just traumatized me even more. I kept getting destroyed.

So I thought “fuck it, why not try Nargacuga and Glavenus before I quit?” I didn’t watch any guides, just quickly checked their weaknesses.

…And it was kinda underwhelming. Nargacuga gave me a decent fight, but I expected him to be jumping around and dashing everywhere. Most of the time he felt pretty slow and kept getting stuck on his own tail.

Is it just me, or did Barioth and Rathalos actually make me way better at the game?

Discussion hardest Monster Hunter game

I felt like learning Charge Blade, and since I already had both World and Rise installed, I decided to practice in both games. I still haven't finished Sunbreak (I'm currently at MR3), and I thought learning a new weapon might make me enjoy it more and finally finish it. I liked World a lot more than Rise.

For some context, Monster Hunter World was my first MH game. I have around 170 hours in it, and I've only ever used the Great Sword. It's my favorite weapon, and it's the one I've played in every Monster Hunter game.

The weird thing is that World feels so much harder than every other MH game I've played. In Rise, I feel like I can actually play the weapon properly. I can land Guard Points consistently, pull off some pretty stylish plays, and just play the game normally. But when I switch to World, even trying to do the basic things the same way just doesn't work.

I do admit I was carried a bit when I first played World. I had a great experience because I made a lot of friends, and they helped me through many hunts. But after finishing the game, I spent a ton of time farming the Guiding Lands by myself, so it's not like I never learned to play solo.

I honestly feel like I never truly learned how to play World. The only monster I never beat was Fatalis, but I still feel like I'm missing something about how the game is meant to be played.

I've looked for Charge Blade guides, but almost all of them only explain the weapon's mechanics, combos, and Guard Points. What I'm looking for is a guide that teaches the decision-making during an actual hunt—when to attack, when to stay defensive, how to create openings, and how to deal with fast monsters like Rajang or Barioth. I haven't been able to find anything like that.

I also played the older games. I finished the village in MH4U and MHGU, and honestly I found both of them easier than World. I know G-Rank gets much harder, but I'm talking about the games as a whole.

Do you guys think World is the hardest game in the series? I know a lot of people say the older games are harder, but I personally didn't find them harder—they just don't have the same quality-of-life features as World.

If anyone has advice on what I might be doing wrong or knows any good guides for dealing with fast monsters, I'd really appreciate it.

Also, English isn't my native language. I translated this post with ChatGPT, so sorry if anything sounds a bit weird or doesn't make much sense.

Question First time in MHW

Post image
15 Upvotes

Good evening, everyone.

I'm new to the Monster Hunter franchise. I started playing Monster Hunter Rise and absolutely loved it. I've already put in 90 hours and I haven't even finished the base game yet. I'm also really enjoying Sunbreak, it's an incredible expansion.

Unfortunately, I play on an Xbox One S, so I understand the limitations of my console. However, I'd heard so much about Monster Hunter World and how it's considered Capcom's masterpiece that I got really curious, so I bought it and started playing. Well... this bug happened when I launched the game. Thankfully, I restarted it and everything went back to normal, which was a huge relief.

I'd like to ask: nowadays, can I still have a great time playing this game on an Xbox One S? It looks like an amazing game, and I'm wondering if the experience is still enjoyable on this console.

What isnt peak is having to gamble on RNG giving you the weapon you want.

At least i got two Golden Dragonsphire to make both layered armors.

Informative Recommended post Iceborne story progression

One of the shortcomings of this game is the lack of direction after the story, it's hard to find consolidated info and new players tend to face jarring difficulty spikes. So those are the main motivations for this. I acknowledge that pure spoiler-free-guides are impossible because you'd get spoiled while browsing through event quests anyways.

Specific upgrades were omitted for brevity. Criticisms, corrections, nitpicks are welcome - will fix if necessary.

Question How am I supposed to avoid damage in this game?

I just beat Nergigante and I honestly feel like I got lucky. I'm playing Sword and Shield so I need to get in close to do damage but it feels like every time I do I'm getting hit by something or he's hopping all over the place making it impossible to hit him. It's even more annoying when I'm fighting something like Bazelgeuse who drops bombs all over the place. I know it's probably a skill issue and I just need to practice but I genuinely don't understand what I'm supposed to be doing to avoid damage. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Question Is this game dead on PS4

Just picked up world on ps summer sale and been playing for a good 5 hours or so.

As of now have not seen a single other player, in the social space or in the match made missions, and nobody has responded to any of my SOS beacons.

Wondering how many hours I'll have to sink in before I get to the point where I naturally start encountering players as that's a big part of the appeal of an MMO to me.

Thank you

Discussion Seething Bazelguese is actually fun??

I decided to farm the Seething Bazelgeuse Set Alpha+ and to be honest, after fighting him for a while, he actually became fun to fight lol. My first impression was really not the greatest, but after some tries, I started to like fight him (and his gear is gorgeous, damn)

Question What makes frontier monsters different?

I'm fairly new to community with only 3 months of having joined, and I've only played world. Something I've noticed on almost every platform (youtube, Twitter, tiktok, and reddit) is that frontier monsters are spoken about as an isolated group. Like they have their own tier/league. Just the overall vibe of conversation feels different when I see people discussing frontier monsters.

I dont know much, but from what I've seen, frontier monsters seem to have crazier designs than the regular games. Is there a reason for that?

Idk, maybe I'm just imagining things, but if im not, can anyone please explain what exactly makes them unique?

Question Best Support Build?

I want to make a build entirely focused on supporting people, since I've been on the receiving end quite a bit and I'm a bit bored of traditional hunting. What would the best weapons be, and are there any jewel loadouts out there that could help?
