University of Monaco

Hi everyone!
I’m considering applying to the Luxury Branding & Management programme at the International University of Monaco and I’d love to hear from current students or alumni.

I have a few questions:

● What’s the overall student experience like?

● How are the classes and professors?

● Is the programme more practical or theoretical?

● How do internships work? Are they arranged by the university, and are they competitive?

● What kind of companies or luxury brands do students usually intern with?

● How valuable is the networking? Do you actually get opportunities to meet professionals from luxury brands?

● What career paths have graduates followed after finishing the programme?

● Would you say the programme is worth the investment?

I’m particularly interested in building a career in the luxury industry (fashion, branding, marketing, communications, events, or business development), so I’d really appreciate any honest feedback or advice.
Thank you!

Careers in Monaco - senior- to executive level?

Hi,

I'm still figuring Monaco out. There is a lot of talk about the service jobs, entry level, basic to mid-range. And there is a lot of talk about the "this is not the place to make money, it's a great place to be when you have the money".

So how about anything in between, let's call it senior to executive level, let's say 80-250k euro per year salary? Do these exist? How is this kind of job market? And what are the industries?

The young, service crowd = a lot of turnover, they come, experience, have fun and go. The rich - they stay after the lock in the residency. But is there the middle?

These are not people who would live in Monaco I imagine, they would commute to work, but they wouldn't be the ones sub-letting a bunk in Beausoleil small apartment.

I'm imagining this is the crowd that would live in the villages limitrophes (Cap D'ail, La Turbie, Beausoleil, maybe Peille, Menton), in small villas, or larger apartments, and commute to work.

Am I reading it right? Shed some light on the "too poor to belong and too rich/old to just enjoy and go elsewhere" group.

Residency deposit - which bank?

Hi all!

Did a search for some existing posts but didn't come across much. We are a couple currently living in Marbella and are considering moving to Monaco - researching it all now. I've been there many times before, so generally familiar with it all.

Question is this - which bank(s) will issue the attestation letter for around 500-600k EUR? I spoke with CFM and they want min €1mm... CMB has not gotten back to me despite a follow-up. While we can do €1mm, we'd prefer to keep it lower. Easy and clean source of funds for us, no crypto/etc, very straightforward.

Can anybody recommend a decent bank or two to reach out to for both this and a potential Lombard setup for it all? We'd prob deposit 600,000€ worth of short-dated US Treasuries (5-year). Many thanks in advance!! 🙏

Merci :)

Harbor's already full and it's not even August yet

Walked the port this week and it's already packed — boats that normally show up end of July are here now, crews swapping out, tenders queued at the fuel dock in the morning. Feels like the season starts two weeks earlier every year. Anyone else noticed that, or is it just me?

Advice for someone who is aiming to study in Monaco 🇲🇨

So I want to attend IUM (international university of Monaco) and I would really like someone to guide me on the application process, what documentation is required, what to add on my university application.

I am also aware of the fact living in Monaco is expensive and how students usually go for areas like Beausoleil, Nice etc. however I can’t seem to find any information on how to find housing and which neighbourhoods are the closest to Monaco or neighbourhoods which are student friendly.

Please help me out any sort of information is extremely helpful thank you . ☺️

From rising young talents to the sport’s biggest stars, the event culminated in the prestigious Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix.

Monaco’s next generation of leaders also took centre stage as the National Youth Council concluded its latest session. After months of research into the opportunities and risks of the digital age, six young councillors presented recommendations aimed at strengthening online safety, including proposals to limit social media access for children under the age of 15.

Art lovers were treated to a major new exhibition at Villa Paloma, where Victor Brauner: The Magical Adventure explores the life and work of the influential surrealist painter. Featuring more than 160 works, many displayed publicly for the first time, the exhibition was visited by Her Royal Highness the Princess of Hanover.

Monaco's bombing investigation took a significant turn as prosecutors revealed new details surrounding last year's attack. Authorities identified a Ukrainian national as the principal suspect, issued an Interpol Red Notice and outlined an international investigation spanning several European countries.

Healthcare in the Principality took another technological leap forward as the Princess Grace Hospital unveiled the Da Vinci 5 robotic surgical system. The next-generation platform has already completed its first procedures, including France's first gynaecological operation performed using the new technology.

During their scientific expedition to Greenland with the Oceanographic Institute of Monaco, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène paid tribute to legendary French polar explorer Commander Jean-Baptiste Charcot during a ceremony held off the coast of Iceland.

Following New York's Independence Day celebrations, the iconic vessels will compete in classic regattas while promoting Monaco's rich sailing tradition.

Innovation under sail continued in Lorient, where Team Malizia unveiled its brand-new IMOCA racing yacht. After two years of development and more than 85,000 hours of construction, skipper Boris Herrmann's latest offshore racer is preparing for sea trials ahead of a demanding international campaign.

A new tourism study has highlighted Monaco's growing global appeal. Conducted by IMSEE and the Monaco Government Tourist and Convention Authority, the survey revealed that more than 6.7 million people visited the Principality in 2025, generating almost €1.4 billion in direct visitor spending.

Meanwhile, the Yacht Club de Monaco launched the 13th Energy Boat Challenge, bringing together university teams from around the world to develop pioneering zero-emission marine technologies. From hydrogen and methanol propulsion to fully student-designed prototypes, the event continues to position Monaco at the forefront of sustainable innovation.

Monaco vs Beausoleil / Cap d’Ail

Hi everyone
Family with 2 very small kids (EU citizens-not French) here. I recently received a job opportunity in Monaco from my employer.
I’ve been searching online l but would love the advice as results are contradicting: is it financially better to live in Monaco (even though it’s a sacrifice on space etc) versus living in Beausoleil or Cap d’Ail & paying French taxes of course?
Small kids so I guess a 2 bedroom would be fine for now.
Any hints / advice would be more than welcomed as we are actively looking at this possibility.
Thank you!

Hi everyone considering applying to IUM for bba program.
There are few few things I would like to know from people who know.
1. What is the actual student experience?
2. Are there men going there or it’s more of like for girls (I’m a male)
3. How are you gonna do after graduation?

  1. And the most important thing for me

How’s life around there, is it boring? Because it’s really small, I wanna study abroad also for the experience of meeting new people going out with them at nights etc
Are there like nice student accommodations
Even if it’s in nice or anywhere around there

Any advices or experiences are more than welcome
