Black Prince

Hello everyone!

I’ve just finished a decorative model of the Black Prince schooner and wanted to share the result with the community.

The model is built in a classic style: a two-masted schooner with fully assembled rigging, yards, shrouds, and fine deck detailing. The hull is painted in a contrasting black-and-white scheme, while the deck and spars are finished to resemble natural wood.

My goal was not to create just a souvenir piece, but a максимально realistic interior display model with accurate mast geometry and properly tensioned rigging. In the photos, the model is already mounted on its display stand and placed in a home interior setting.

I’d be glad to hear your thoughts: — How does the rigging look? — What would you improve on the deck? — Should I add sails, or keep it in a “moored / harbor display” configuration?

If there is interest, I can post more close-up photos and show some stages of the build process.

Check out Sealed Motorized U-581 German by Academy Minicraft kit in 1/150 Scale on eBay!

**Rare Vintage WWII Submarine Model Kit – Now on eBay!**

Looking to add a true collector’s piece to your collection?

I’m selling this **Academy Minicraft U-581 German WWII Submarine** (1/150 scale, motorized diving model).

These kits were produced in the late 90s/early 2000s and are becoming **increasingly rare** on the secondary market. The U-581 was a real Type VIIC U-Boat that served in the Battle of the Atlantic — this motorized kit captures its history with diving capability, working periscope, and detailed deck features. Very few of these remain unbuilt and in factory-sealed condition.

Perfect for naval historians, WWII enthusiasts, or serious scale modelers who appreciate well-engineered older kits.

Also check out my other listings — lots of premium 1/64 diecast (M2 Machines, Tomica, Majorette, etc.) available in the same store.

Serious inquiries only — DM with questions!

Authentic looking Pond Yacht, rigging details!

I was at the Louis K. Meisel Gallery in NYC yesterday (141 Prince St, New York, NY 10012) and was surprised they had two pond yachts in an exhibit of their usual photorealist paintings. The models were in great condition and had NOT been subjected to bad restoration and re-rigging, which is usually all you ever see on non-museum pond yachts. These looked amazing and I encourage anyone who thinks they may have to restore a pond yacht in the future to SAVE THESE PHOTOS since it is extremely difficult to get clear sharp photos of deck rigging details on these models.

Inherited a model ship of the USS Constitution.

Greetings! I'm hoping someone can help!

Hoping someone can shed some light on this model ship I inherited, possibly depicting the USS Constitution, from my uncle, who recently passed away. My family knows nothing about it, although we believe he acquired it sometime in the 1980s or ’90s.

The ship sits in an old wood-and-glass display case with a matching wooden stand built for it. It appears to be handmade. Lots of imperfections. Not very accurate. More of a caricature of a ship. I can't find any writing on it.

The entire display measures approximately 34 inches long, 27 inches tall and 11 inches deep. I’m guessing it was made sometime between the 1940s and ’70s. There's no obvious writing anywhere.

Is it worth anything besides the display case it's in? Any thoughts? What should I do with this thing?
