I’m having a hard time trying to find where to look for internships. I work a job at Walmart (full time) and I’m also studying at hinds currently then I’ll be transferring . I have no prior experience to computer science but I am learning.

For two decades, a corporate chain of some of America’s most powerful companies pushed highly additive opioids into the hands of American families. Civil rights attorney Ben Crump joined the family of Nolan Xavier Wells at a news conference Wednesday at the 117th NAACP National Convention, where he announced preliminary findings from an independent autopsy commissioned by the family.

Per the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department on Facebook:

On or about June 30, 2026, the Pearl River County Sheriff's Office received a law enforcement referral from the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS) regarding a fourteen (14) year-old female juvenile, who was reported to be pregnant. The reporting party was anonymous.

An investigation was immediately initiated, and felony arrest warrants were obtained during the investigation for two defendants. On Friday, July 17, 2026, the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested Dawson James Brown for one count of Statutory Rape, two counts of Sexual Battery, and one count of Human Trafficking.
On this same date, Sabrina Brown was also arrested for active felony arrest warrants for Conspiracy to Commit Tampering with Evidence, Attempted Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Child Neglect.

This investigation does involve a juvenile victim, and we are asking the public to respect the victim's privacy and not share or release the juvenile's identity.

Hi, this is a very opinionated question and I was just curious as to what others think.
I recently left Southern Miss (Withdrawn from classes right after orientation) cause I realized I couldn’t afford it and decided to go to Holmes instead, which I basically am in for free cause I got the Deans scholarship.
After I graduate from there, I wanted to go back to Southern Miss, or maybe, MAYBE go to MSU. Maybe.
I been doing research for days….like weeks even on everything cause I felt like beforehand, I just rushed into picking before looking at every little detail.
But I been noticing how extremely low Southern Miss graduation rate is, at around 38%….which is absolutely crazy to me. I just wanted to hear everyone else, specifically Mississippi citizens on why they believe it’s so low? And should I go back after Holmes?

Edit: The way that no one here answer the question of whether I should go back or not (or go to msu) LMFAO.

A Mississippi police officer involved in last month’s fatal shooting of 1-year-old Kohen Wiley at a Walmart was previously accused of exaggerating the risks that a vehicle posed to officers during another parking lot confrontation that escalated into violence in 2019, records show.

When John Polk decided to retire, he said to his constituents, "Serving district 44 as your Senator has been the honor of my life. I know there were times I didn’t vote the way you individually wished I had, but I always had the people of the district and state’s best interest when I voted.”

He also killed the ballot initiative in the Senate in 2023.

I’ve lived out of the state for the past three years and recently moved back, and it’s been incredibly hard to source a six pack of Southern Pecan. Does anyone happen to know the reason? I’ve heard rumors the central ABC is to blame, but I don’t know how much water that holds.

My wife and I are in our mid-20s with two kids. I grew up in south Louisiana and southern Mississippi, near the gulf coast. I haven't been back since maybe I was 13 for ​ a funeral

We currently live abroad in Europe but I have an opportunity to return to Mississippi (gulf coast) with university fully paid for​, and housing allowance for my family.

How is the Gulf Coast now? How are the schools, living standards, cost of living, economic situation? How is the security?

Is there opportunity there still, and even beyond ​my job, how affluent is ​the region and stability wise?

Very important for us, are there a lot of young adults especially with families?

I know the standard of living, cost of living, and everything is going to be so much different from where we are in Europe it is night and day but I have a rose tinted view of my childhood from the 2000s so I would like a unbiased view of it today
