I'm planning a small social experiment on Minecraft and looking for the right server to do it on.

The idea: An account stands 24/7 (doesn't move, doesn't build, doesn't grief, doesn't chat) in a busy spot — spawn, hub, lobby, wherever players pass through. I'm streaming (and cliping) what happens when players notice it, react, try to interact. Kind of like "camera in a public space for a year" (i forgot what it was called lol) experiments, just inside Minecraft.

What I'm looking for:

• A server with a decent number of active players (doesn't need to be huge, just shouldn't feel dead)
• No whitelist — needs to be freely joinable
• An area where players naturally walk by (spawn/hub/lobby), ideally where they can't build/grief

I recently launched a dedicated server for my pack, W-Tech Lite on 1.20.1, and I'm looking for some chill people to join and help build a tight-knit community.

The server is pretty lightly moderated. PvP is fine out in the wild, but griefing and raiding are strictly off-limits. You can claim your chunks with FTB Chunks and play at your own pace.

A quick rundown of what we have going on:

Tech and Exploration:

* Includes big tech/automation mods like Mekanism, Thermal, Ender IO, Tinkers, ComputerCraft, and Ad Astra.

* Terralith and Tectonic for world gen.

* Basic economy setup and a spawn area to start out.

Performance and Distant Horizons:

* The world is fully pre-generated out to 18,000 blocks, with the world border set at 16,000.

* Distant Horizons LODs are pre-rendered all the way out to 18,000 blocks, so if you use DH you can get massive view distances without killing your performance or causing server lag.

How to join:

Grab W-Tech Lite on CurseForge (https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/w-tech-lite) and hit the server button built into the main menu to connect. Hope to see a few of you on.

We are a nice 'n cozy 18+ SMP community! We are pretty laid-back and we like to keep things as vanilla as possible, just spicing it up with some neat small plugins. So, no land claims! We do have protection plugins installed to rollback possible grief or stealing.

Our server is running on 1.26.2  and we do not do server resets!. So feel free to take breaks and come back to your progress exactly as you left it! 

Only catch is, if you decide to leave our Discord, we'll consider it as your departure from the server. This means you'll be removed from the whitelist and your base area may potentially be reset. This is made to ensure long-term sustainability of our SMP community. As time progresses, finding suitable land to settle on becomes increasingly challenging.

We're not picky about who joins; we're all about letting you play the way you love. Whether you're a redstoner, explorer, or builder, you're welcome here. With that said, we are more of a build orientated smp and pretty limited on the technical aspect due to server performance. Our economy is kind of like Hermitcraft, with diamonds as the currency. There is a shopping district at spawn which is the heart of the server.

As a community, we're into big, ambitious projects, so you'll find some awesome builds scattered around. We've got a mod pack that adds some fun stuff like voice chat and optimization tweaks. It's optional, though—no pressure.

We also have a resource and creative world connected to the server that you can make use of! The resource world is purely there to gather resources and will get reset occasionally. The creative world is for designing stuff in creative mode while still being on the server and chatting with people! It's a great way to design something together, ask for inspiration, and seek help!

Just a few rules: zero tolerance for discrimination or racism!! We like some banter, but let's keep it friendly.
