Hi everyone,
I wanted to share the story behind this awesome jacket and see if anyone has more information or has ever seen another one like it. I’m writing from Argentina, so finding a piece like this over here is incredibly rare!
This is a vintage Nike Team University of Miami Hurricanes Sideline Bench Parka. It was a gift given to my dad back between 1999 and 2001 by a friend of his who traveled from Argentina to the University of Miami to participate in a basketball campus. He brought it back with him, and since it came directly from the athletic program back then, it’s a true team-issue/sideline piece.
Here are the specific details of the coat (photos attached):
- Colorway: Rare bright orange shell with a dark green fleece-lined hood and green piping/lines on the back.
- Back Design: Features the iconic Miami "U" logo embroidered at the bottom lower back.
- Cut/Fit: It's a long bench coat with massive oversized front pockets and an insulated green quilted interior.
- Tag Specs: Nike Team gray/red neck tag (Size L) with the blank space for the player's name/number. Inside tags show RN# 56323, CA# 05553, and RFC# NME 920220 KL4.
I’m definitely not looking to sell it, as it has sentimental value, but I really want to find more information about it, see archive photos of the team using it, or find out how rare this specific orange colorway actually is.
If anyone remembers the basketball team or other sports using these on the sidelines around 2000, please let me know!
Greetings from Argentina!
