I bought the master collection and have been really struggling to get into mgs1 since everything feels so terrible. I hate the controls scheme aswell. No hate on the story though the story is good it’s just the controls.

I played Metal Gear 1-2, Metal Gear Solid 1-3, and I was wondering what to play next. I watched a playthrough of Portable Ops, but I was wondering if I should play Peace Walker and MGS V, or play MGS 4? I've heard mixed things, and that MGS4 was a finale, but Peace Walker might spoil MGS4. Any tips would be helpful

To ease into the series i started with delta: snake eater, I’ve seen the consensus is to play in release order but if i were to move onto mgsv (skipping portable ops and peacewalker) then move into mgs1 etc will i be ruining the series for myself. I just want to know if I’ll enjoy the series just as much as if i played in release order.
