Commissioned a custom Gojo keyboard recently! The backplate print turned out really well!

These two are currently vying for space on my desk. Apparently I am a big patina guy now.

I genuinely don't understand. I bought two leopold keyboards about 8 years ago. They were/are my favorite keyboards, the best I've ever had. They have survived much abuse and finally, after one too many liquids spilled on them, have started to fail.

But what's crazy to me is that Leopold as a company has seemed to disappear from the market. For years, their stock on websites has dwindled and hasn't been replenished. Their own website seems to be unmaintained, and they only link to their Amazon store, where just about everything is out of stock and has been for years now.

I just don't get it. They make fantastic products, and I have money I want to give them. I would rather them publicly state they are going out of business than continue to have any presence at all because it makes me continue to hold out thinking they will restock.

Does anyone have any insider information?

For the record, the keyboard I want is the FC900R, with Cherry MX Black.

I guess I'm just going to have to buy the Ducky origin keyboards. It's just such a shame that such a great product went away without any good reason or explanation.

Edit: I ALREADY KNOW that you can still buy some of their keyboards - but the only kind that have been in stock anywhere are their TKL which I have zero interest in. On top of that, my point remains - that the supply seems to be dwindling with no sign of replenishment.

Commisioned a build for a manager who was leaving singapore airlines. Honestly one of the most unique and cool commisions ive done.

I was mostly having fun, but one really got a lot of attention. I was on track to get a model manufactured but COVID showed up and my boss disappeared and left me and my coworkers wondering wtf we weee supposed to do. Haven’t visited this subreddit since!

Today is my first day, and to be honest it's no fun.. Can't do the most basic stuff I used to do on a 100 like alt f4 or alt shift s without pressing fn.. just asking out of curiosity lol

It took two months for them to finish it. custom orders take time because they probably have a backlog, and plan it out and figure out how to do it so it takes a while. I think it looks amazing I got it from Hiros online funny thing is, this key cap is worth more than the keyboard it's a 40k orks and space marines space bar

I’ve recently learned about the Lemokey L5, and I’m really excited about it for its analog TMR switches, and speed seemingly on par with Razer’s Hunstmans with their Gen 2 Analog Optical Switches. but there are 2 things about it that keep me from getting one.

The first thing is that Linear switches are the only switch type available for it, no Silent Linear, Tactile, Silent Tactile, or Clicky analog TMR switches are available for it. I need that tactility for my brain to register keystrokes properly, because I grew up accustomed to that tactility. I consider this lack of tactile options for it an accessibility problem. How? Let me explain. I’m aware that a lot of people have to acclimate to Linear switches with practice, but some people with cognitive impediments can have a harder time doing so. I have autism, which I believe makes it harder for me to acclimate to them. I don’t think it would be impossible for me to do so, but I just don’t want to, because I only want to buy a keyboard that I’ll be truly happy with. This issue isn’t exclusive to Lemokey and Keychron, just about all the fancy gaming keyboard switch technologies start with Linear switches, and it usually takes years for tactile options to become available. I don’t hate people who prefer Linear switches, but this practice makes it so people have no choice but to acclimate to Linear switches if they want the fanciest bells and whistles. If you need that tactility, for the longest time you were screwed! This made at least me feel inferior for my preference, and I feels like it’s this way, because it’s what will make these companies the most money.

There are people who need screen readers to properly navigate their devices, and there are tactile navigation tools for not just tech, but the real world too. I feel the same logic can apply to tactile keyboard switches.

I’m not hopeless though, I was in absolute ecstasy when I saw Glorious’s Panda Silent HE switches, and I learned last night that Keychron has their own Banana HE and Silent Banana HE switches on their roadmap. I think they could do the same with TMR switches.

The other dealbreaker for me is that there’s no 100% version of the L5 HE. I want a 100% layout, because I sometimes use the numpad, and I play games that use the function keys.

It’s very possible we could get a Lemokey 100% with those other analog TMR switch types, I’m reaching for Silent Tactile switches. I’m hoping for this dream to come true!

I made this project for my father, who likes to hoard all the keycap sets he can get his hands on. He says all the keycap storages are super expensive, so I hopped on FreeCAD and made this.

All the parts were 3D printed on an Anycubic Kobra S1. All the drawers have a locking mechanism as well to prevent them sliding out when tilted forward. Moreover the storage box has holes to mount a nameplate on the side for marking. One storage set (1 box, 3 drawers) costs about 4 dollars in material. The printing cost is near zero, since I own the printer.

Had this for a few years now and it's holding up great as my primary keeb. I love how versatile it is, can go from minimalist to crazy rainbow depending on the mood. I programmed one of the color settings for both the keys and the rim to sorta match the color of my Legion pro laptop for cohesion, it's very tranquil. Recently cleaned it up and added some O-rings for fun.

U4T boba clear on everything except the spacebar, which I believe is a Bobagum silent? (picked randomly from a small stash of test switches) I don't know about anyone else's opinion on mismatched switched, but the spacebar was super loud and I couldn't stand it and swapping the switch seemed like the easiest solution. I thought I would be more bothered by the difference (especially with the spacebar now being linear vs tactile like the rest) but I am so relieved and happy actually.

Keycaps were from Amazon- sea salt I think? I really like the uniform orientation of the keycaps.

Anyway that's my schpeal.
