How long does an edible affect you for (Hangover??)

I don’t really consume weed very much, but I had an edible with my friends last night. It’s been like 14 hours and I still feel like my brain is messed up. I don’t feel high or anything but I still feel like a vague lingering feeling like my brain is skipping seconds. I had too much, if that makes any difference.

I think I kind of hate weed, it’s always fun until it’s not lol

Brief whistle/sound in my head after smoking weed — has anyone experienced this?

A few days ago I smoked and felt normal, but later while walking upstairs I suddenly heard a high-pitched whistle sound that felt like it was inside my head, not coming from outside. It lasted around 5–10 seconds and then completely stopped.
I got really scared, but I slept fine and woke up feeling completely normal.
A couple of days later, I was around friends who were smoking (I didn’t smoke), and I briefly noticed a similar sound again for maybe 2 seconds. It stopped when I moved away.
I’ve noticed it only seems to happen when weed is involved. When I’m completely away from weed, I feel normal and don’t hear anything.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? Could it just be a cannabis effect, anxiety, or a tinnitus-like thing

How much oil would you infuse with one ounce of shake?

It's low/ok quality. Goal is magic brownies. Using oil over butter as one person can't have butter. Was thinking I would infuse only the amount of oil for the mix but worried it might be too strong (we're going relaxed afternoon not instant sleep lol). What's your sweet spot?

Advice How to fix my highs

Hello, I smoked weed for years with no problem at all, then I had a really bad high overdosing with another drug while being crossfaded on both. Now, I’m finding it impossible to have a good high again, even minor ones. Before I try again, what can I do to guarantee or even give a chance to having good highs again?

Edit: edibles are the biggest culprit for horrible highs for us, and we always get regulated dispensary weed since we’re in Washington. We also can’t get flower because the smell would get us kicked out of our current place

Percentages?

So basically I remember smoking weed when I was a teen & it was so fun. Me and the homies would play sports high, play basketball on trampolines, walk far distances for food & still feel energized. 😂 literally smoke like 4-5 blunts or joints & be cool jamming to music & what not.
Now I stopped so much I’ve had a half an ounce just sitting there for months. (I’ll smoke a small raw paper like every week or two in the evening). I totally cut out before work as I know I’m not as sharp and people can tell when I’m high. Khalifa kush is usually a nice strain for me and doesn’t really kill my energy too much.I went fishing yesterday and thought it’d be a good time to break out some bud. (Blue Dream) Rolled a fat king size raw. Was having fun with one of my friends cracking funny jokes and was decently on point. Felt pretty good & euphoric. But as soon as I started driving like an hour after i smoked I could tell my focus wasn’t 100%. Then when i got home instead of for taking a shower like I usually do, I just stuffed my face with Dairy Queen 6 pcs and a blizzard & straight up crashed. Woke up in the morning like shit. I didn’t even take a shower. I don’t know what’s up with the weed nowadays or it’s me, but it feels really different. I think my next move when I run out of weed is ask for the least percentage weed they got. It’s weird too because like I know people like my neighbors will smoke non stop high percentage & still be super functional. I miss the days when I was able to handle my bud. I’m 25 now for reference. Is this just me getting older or the weed itself, I really can’t tell why I can’t hang no more. Any input is appreciated.

Dreams & Nightmares after Stopping

For context: I am trying to get a job so I have quit cold turkey. I’m on week two and feel fine mentally and physically. Previous to that I have been smoking daily for almost two years. The only thing is my sleep quality has gone down tremendously since. Prior to quitting, I would rarely remember my dreams much less wake up from them. I would also sleep until 10-11 AM unless interrupted.

The first week quitting I experienced for the first time in years night terrors and sleep insomnia. I would wake up gasping and screaming. That seems to have passed thankfully but I am now waking up everyday at 5-6 AM after a crazy intense dream that I can remember pretty well. I would’t say they are lucid because I cannot alter the dream but I have control of my body and mind and can think in the dream.

For example, last night, I had a 50 minute REM cycle from 6-7 AM. I distinctly remember the dream. I was traveling with family in some strange town and we could not agree on a place to eat. We end up getting split up and I am hitchhiking on the road. I meet this girl who gives me the direction to a nearby food place. At this point I can feel my body starving in the dream. When I get to the food place I eat but then the dream switches to me being in a kindergarten classroom but everyone is my age. We are learning different words and phrases. This teacher’s class specifically was words. I remember having a paper with animals on it from a different class that I was studying. She got extremely angry that I was looking at another class’s work during her time and started acting as cruel and demeaning as possible. Then she sends me to the back of the class with this annoying and obnoxious girl who pushes all my items on the desk and shoves me. I try to get the teachers attention but she doesnt care. I go to the office to call my Mom and report the teacher. Then I pass out and wake up (still dreaming) in a room with my Dad. Very strange but I look at my instagram and I have posted the most obnoxious stupid things. I check my camera roll and the things I have posted are not in it. I conclude I had been hacked.

The dream takes a slightly darker turn as I try to explain to people I was hacked and someone is trying fuck with me (especially after the teacher incident which I still remember at this point in the dream) and no one will believe me. I keep seeing the teacher but she disappears. I get this dreadful feeling of being watched/chased so I go house to house in this neighborhood begging for help. No one will help me. I finally steal a police car and pull over far away and finally feel relief. I turn around and the teacher is there telling me it wasn’t a good idea to get out of my car. At that point I start running as fast as I can and wake up.

Has anyone ever experienced these crazy intense dreams like these you can vividly remember and a sharp decrease in sleep quality. Was it temporary? How long did it last?

Research & Science Weed, B12 deficiency, and MTHFR, the full mechanism breakdown

Been digging into why cannabis seems to hit so much harder when B12 deficient or MTHFR positive, and there's a real, multi layered biochemical story here, not just a vague sensitivity.

The direct case precedent

There's a documented case that closely mirrors this exact situation, a 22 year old who used nitrous oxide and cannabis together and developed a full psychotic episode tied to low B12 levels. It resolved after appropriate B12 supplementation, confirming the connection wasn't incidental, correcting the deficiency corrected the psychiatric symptoms.

How B12 deficiency destabilizes the system on its own

B12 deficiency causes buildup of methylmalonic acid and homocysteine, and that buildup is proportionally related to the severity of neuropsychiatric symptoms, not just physical ones like fatigue or numbness. The documented clinical range for B12 deficiency includes psychotic and affective episodes, behavioral disorders, and cognitive impairment. Case reports specifically describe B12 deficiency presenting with hallucinations, delusions of reference, and thought broadcasting severe enough to be misdiagnosed as schizophrenia before the B12 connection was found and treated. The underlying mechanism traces back to B12's role, alongside folate and homocysteine, in the methylation pathway required to produce serotonin and other monoamine neurotransmitters, so when B12 is low, that pathway is disrupted at a chemical level, not just a psychological one.

Where MTHFR fits in, same pathway, different bottleneck

MTHFR converts folate into its active usable form, which methionine synthase then uses, with B12 as a cofactor, to clear homocysteine. There's a documented case of psychosis specifically tied to homozygous MTHFR mutation combined with multiple vitamin deficiencies, which resolved with vitamin supplementation, not by treating the gene itself, since MTHFR variants can only be worked around through the deficiency they create, not corrected directly. There's also a broader framework in the literature called the transmethylation theory of psychosis, proposing that MTHFR variants raising homocysteine and disrupting methylation are a genuine contributing mechanism in some psychotic presentations. A study comparing first episode schizophrenia patients to healthy controls found the schizophrenia group had lower B12 and folate along with elevated homocysteine, with the authors suggesting those abnormalities may have influenced symptom severity.

So MTHFR doesn't cause paranoia by itself, it reduces how efficiently you process folate, which makes it harder to keep homocysteine cleared, the exact same pathway B12 deficiency disrupts. Being homozygous for a MTHFR variant while also B12 deficient means hitting that bottleneck from two directions at once.

What THC does on its own

Separately from any of this, THC is directly documented to cause paranoia. A large randomized, placebo controlled study using intravenous THC found it significantly increased paranoia, negative affect, and anomalous sensory experiences, and reduced working memory, with the negative affect and anomalous experiences fully accounting for the increase in paranoia. This happens in people with completely normal B12 and MTHFR status, so THC doesn't need a deficiency to cause paranoia, it's already capable of doing that on its own in vulnerable individuals.

The receptor level connection

CB1, the main receptor THC acts through in the brain, is itself regulated by DNA methylation, and this regulation appears to be part of what determines individual vulnerability to psychosis from cannabis. Research on human brain tissue found CB1 gene expression and methylation levels change across the lifespan, and this pattern was linked to increased vulnerability to prefrontal cortex dysmaturation from cannabis exposure during adolescence specifically. Animal research found that THC exposure altered DNA methylation at cannabinoid and dopamine receptor genes in the brain, paired with the same social withdrawal and cognitive impairment patterns seen in schizophrenia models. Cannabis exposure has also been shown to directly change DNA methyltransferase and cannabinoid receptor expression in blood cells shortly after smoking, meaning cannabis measurably shifts methylation activity in real time, not just theoretically.

Worth flagging honestly, since it hasn't been studied directly as one pathway, DNA methylation broadly, including at genes like CB1, depends on the same one carbon methylation cycle that B12 and MTHFR are part of, methionine, SAM, and the methyl donor pool methionine synthase maintains. No study tested B12 or MTHFR status specifically alongside CB1 methylation and cannabis induced psychosis in the same subjects, so this is a plausible mechanistic overlap based on shared biochemistry, not a proven three way connection.

Putting it together

Researchers describe cannabis as a component cause of psychosis, meaning it's neither necessary nor sufficient on its own, it interacts with other vulnerability factors to precipitate symptoms. That fits everything here. THC alone can cause paranoia in anyone through its own receptor mechanism. B12 deficiency alone can cause genuine psychiatric symptoms through disrupted neurotransmitter methylation. MTHFR alone just creates a folate processing bottleneck that feeds into that same pathway. Stack all three, impaired methylation from B12 deficiency, a genetic bottleneck from MTHFR making that deficiency harder to correct, and a receptor system that's itself methylation dependent and directly targeted by THC, and you have multiple overlapping reasons why cannabis could hit much harder in this specific combination than it would in someone without any of these factors.

Opinion/Editorial Why I'm hoping marijuana does get legalize.

My main point is I'm hoping we can expunge any marijuana charge including dismissed ones like mine.

I never used marijuana so I was falsely accused, let me start out by saying that I did take track in high school and they do require that you get tested.

Anyway when I was 22 I was still living with my mom who doesn't really let me be independent and doesn't let me get a job because she wants to collect my disability benefits so I was in a situation of my mom is forcing me to live with her.

Police found a marijuana plant in the backyard through their helicopter and plane searches, this happened in Indiana.

They searched the house and all that, and I ended up being charged with possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, I don't use marijuana and I even said that to the police that I want no real part in what my mom does I don't approve of her marijuana use and I have wished to get away from her before that point.

They just wanted to accuse me so they could make money off of me, and I ended up getting a prosecution deferral so my mom had to pay close to $900 for my case alone but all in all they accused my sister and my mom all in all it was around $5,000 range.

My mom and dad are not open to getting an expungement, and all you have to do is sign paperwork but I don't have a way to print off the paperwork I need. So yeah no consideration for people of the amish faith I guess in Indiana.

The real thing is I've had people use that against me in harassment campaigns towards me, so it's still public information I've had people tell me things like cases get dismissed all the time it don't mean your innocent. And even if that is the case, the case itself was very dubious.

Edibles not getting me high more than once a day?

Essentially the problem I am running into is that once I take gummies/edibles and feel high that is it for the day. If I try taking more hours later they do nothing for me. Wondering how to remedy this?

For health reasons I dont smoke. I only take edibles. Open to other smokeless/vape-less options but gummies are easy and thats what I usually stick with. (Have used thc drinks as well. )

I am a daily participant and have a decently high tolerance for edibles, usually have to take 100mg nowadays.

Weed psycosis?

Hey I was wondering if anyone had any similar experiences or knows what happened to me.
One night I had maybe 2-3 drinks and afterwards had half a joint which I shared with a friend, I had been doing this sort of thing regularly for over a year with no issues. The only difference that night was I had quite bad back pain and thought the joint would ease the pain so I could do the 45 minute walk home.

Almost immediately after smoking I remember nothing but according to my friend I became delirious. He says I had no idea where I was or who he was, I was saying get me off this boat, I was calling him my mother, that sort of thing. At one point I was asleep for 30 mins then started hysterically laughing at nothing in my sleep for 5 mins. Every time he would try and get me to walk I would collapse and fall asleep again. It took us 6 hours to do the walk home because of this, my friend had no issues with the weed and said he was basically sober after an hour due to the stress of the situation.

When I look back it’s like I smoke and then fall asleep and wake up 6 hours later, I have completely no memory. Since this ive not smoked in a year. does anyone have any similar experiences or know why such a small amount of weed did this to me

Edit: As my friend was completely fine I think it’s unlikely it was laced. But since this happened I had severe disassociation for a while but it has since mostly gone.

Partial lung collapse, alternative methods of use

Hello, a couple days ago I had a spontaneous partial lung collapse, and will no longer be able to inhale smoke without serious risk of recollasping my lung again. What alternative methods of use do you guys recommend? I’ll miss smoking, but am not too familiar with other methods of use, besides edibles which I’ve never had much luck with.
