Question M.M.O.7+ Scroll Wheel Maintenance

Been loving the M.M.O.7+ so far, special thanks to u/Eumldeuml!

The one thing I noticed recently was the scroll wheel becoming a bit squeaky, probably just some gunk that got in there. u/MadCatzGuy, are there any tips or do's/don'ts on how to clean the mechanism?

follow-up on accessories

I'd like to check in on the accessory purchase situation. Months ago u/madcatzguy said you guys were working on making our mouse parts available for purchase. More than a few ppl who have the new MMO 7+ are asking for the rest of our accessory set from the RAT 7, in particular the raised palm rest and extended pinkie rest. While these should have obviously been included with the new model, I for one am happy to buy them and would prefer to buy new directly from MadCatz than from some rando on ebay. pls advise.

Setting up MMO 7+ on Linux

Does anyone have a good solution for setting up the MMO 7+ on Linux? Generic applications for button mapping feel like they would be difficult due to the design of the mouse. My current solution is to run the official software in a VM but i'd rather not have a VM take up 20GB+ of disk space just for mouse configuration and since I like to tinker setting up once and leaving it be doesn't work too well for me.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Bricked/Broken/Not Working M.O.J.O M1 issues and suggestions

Used MadCatz mice for ages now, still find them the most comfortable, but always had significant build issues and parts breakage before. I was sent a M.O.J.O M1 as recompense for the multiple physical degradations over time, and, while it doesn't quite have the same profile (super wide, flat and with a big thumb rest) as older ones, I was happy with anything that retained at least some of the old features, as long as the build lasted. It has served me well and I've grown to like it quite a lot over time.

Had that mouse for about two years now, and the primary click has gone, I felt it going over the last few months but it has finally died. My question is, how hard is it to get fixed? My assumption is (and it would feel like taking advantage were I even able to) that there was either no warranty provided, or that it would have expired anyway. Is it more effort to fix than get a new mouse? and if so - an recommendations for very sturdy mice with thumb rests?

Cheers :)

Can't update the firmware on MMO 7+

It downloads the file just fine but when I plug it in this happens? I updated HUD first when I saw both wanted to be updated. HUD updated fine. I even had it run the repair tool and it came back fine. Using the firmware repair tool doesn't seem to help but the mouse still just works fine.

It works fine and the software works fine, but it won't let me update the firmware?

Question How can I remove Madcatz drivers in Windows 11?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I am trying to remove all Madcatz/Saitek drivers as they are preventing the core isolation protection in Windows 11. When I scan for incompatible drivers, there are 5 problematic entries:

  • _usb_0738_1705.sys
  • SaiBus.sys x2
  • SaiMini.sys x2

My question is: How can I remove these? The mouse I am currently using does not use anything MC/Saitek related.

I've checked add/remove programs, and there is nothing relating to MC/Saitek.

I've gone into Device manager, and I found a "HID Compliant mouse" that has MC drivers associated with it, but even if I uninstall this via device manager, it just re-appears after a reboot.

I can locate the system folders/.inf these files are related to (e.g. oem148.inf) but I don't know if it's simple as going into safe mode and deleting them.

I am losing my mind trying to fix what I thought was a simple problem. Can anyone please help? Thanks

MadCatz in SEA?

I'm looking to get an MMO7+. Anyone know where's the best place to get it?

I followed the official website which has a $42 shipping fee from NA. Hoping to avoid that!

mmo7+ Lighting settings

Hi,

I updated the firmware to version 1.20 today and noticed that the lighting settings seem to have changed... Previously, I had the front lights set to green, and they would turn red when I activated "Right Active" or "Left Active." Since the update, this only happens with the side lights. Is there a way to change this? I can't find anything in the settings to adjust it.

Sorry for the broken English.

Mchose A7 Ultra V2 not work in net gaming!!!!

My MCHOSE A7 Ultra V2 works perfectly on my personal computer, but it is not recognized on internet café (gaming center) computers. When I plug it into my own PC, it connects and works immediately, but on café PCs the sensor does not light up and the mouse cannot be used. I have tried several solutions, but it still does not work.

Question Problems with MMO 7+

Hi, I've run into some issues with the mouse, namely: 1: On wireless the mouse turns off / goes into hibernation after 1 second of not moving the mouse (all LEDs turn off, mouse does not transmit pointer movement or clicks). Makes games unplayable, because if you ever stop moving your mouse it takes 1 second until it wakes up again. 2: Holding left mouse button is inconsistent (mouse plugged in over USB). After a while it'll always release the click without me going off the button. Any suggestions on how to resolve? - I've done a firmware reset already.

RAT DWS replacement pads ?

Hi everyone,

I have a RAT DWS for a few years. With time passing, and that's normal, the plastic pads under my mice are worn out. I previously had an older RAT mice and it was easy to find replacement pad, but no luck with the DWS. If I can't find new pads I'll have to buy a new mice. Any tips on where to find those replacement pads for the DWS ?

Thanks !

mmo7+ feature request

firstly: LOVE the mouse! its really great that there is an alternative to razer naga :)) Judging by feedback it should actually last as well!

small software requests: can we make the shift button editable? I don't find the current button very convenient for use as the shift key, but i would use it for other stuff.

would be cool if we could have the mouse "shift key" mapped to a key on the keyboard. So for example. Holding alt, would temporarily turn mouse into shift mode.

Could we turn off all the LED's? currently some still stay on and i can't change their color..

Otherwise LOVE the idea that we don't have to keep software running to use the mouse! it just saves everything to the mouse! beautiful! might buy another one just to support such a company!

[edit]: just found in another thread that shift button can be pressed down, not only in! thats really cool! should have a separate little leaflet for that in the box or at least in the software :))

MMO7+ mouse keys (M4, M5, M6, etc)

Is there any way to switch the programming to those, so I don't have to worry about any overlapping/pre-existing keybinds in games? Being able to customize each button to a key/function is super useful but sometimes I just want the generic non-specific mouse keys

Does anyone know of reputable places to get spare parts. My Mad Catz x 3 side buttons failed a little over a year in to use.

They are clean never dropped getting no physical feedback from them all of a sudden.

Any help greatly appreciated.

M.M.O.7+ ergonomic palm rest for palm grip (3D printable)

Aaaaaand here's another mod for the M.M.O.7+

https://www.printables.com/model/1733847-mmo-7-ergonomic-palm-grip

If you're more of a palm grip type like I am, you can now mod your M.M.O.7(+) to be more suited to this kind of grip. The palm rest attaches to one of the two included palm rests.

I used white filament for prototyping, but a different colour might give a more coherent look. But for now I'll leave it white (I always wanted a white M.M.O.7 anyways lol)

Question Looking for MMO7+ tips?

Hello,

I got the MMO7+ two days ago. Since I havnt been able to try it that much Ive stuck to my Naga Hyperspeedv2 since its raid tonight. Looking to swap next week.

Why I got it: I used the Razer trinity 2-3 years ago during raids. Sold it when I felt I was finished with classic WoW. Friends tricked me to get back and I got the Hyperspeed v2. But I get some pain in my hand/wrist while using it. And I never got that great at using the third line of buttons. For non MMO or button heavy games I use the superlight 2.

First off, the MMO7+ feels a little weird and the palmrest is "super high" compared to the res tof the mouse. Is that something you get used to? I might be 70% Palm and 30% fintertip. might depend om the mouse. Probably mostly palm when using bigger mice.

Secondly the "shift button", its get a bit awkward pressing that side of the mouse. Muscle memory doesnt kick in and its rough to press anything else that I want. Anyone experienced that and got over it?

Thirdly, just looking for basic tips. I usually bind the extra buttons to F1-F12 as an example. What do you do? Things like that.

Sorry for a bit of a rushed text. I want to collect some thoughts and tips while life is happening (driving kids to activities).

Cheers

After 1 week with the MMO7+, here’s what it’s missing

I’ve been using the MMO7+ for around a week now, and overall I really like it. But there are a few things that I think would make it a truly perfect gaming mouse:

  1. Optional extra palm support / ergonomic shell attachment

The mouse feels a bit too flat for the palm.

Almost all ergonomic mice are designed to better match the natural curve of the hand. As you know, the palm isn’t flat when gripping a mouse, so having an optional thicker or more curved plastic palm rest attachment would make it much more comfortable for longer use.

  1. Software update with more advanced keybind options

The software could really use more flexibility for bindings and macros, such as:

Toggle mode

Auto-stop toggle when pressing another button or left/right click

Auto-stop macro when pressing another button or left/right click

Double-press activation for a single bind or macro

Hold-press activation for a single bind or macro

These options would make the mouse much more customizable!

  1. More customization for the Shift buttons ( keybind options )

This would allow users to fully customize the mouse around their own playstyle.

Overall, the MMO7+ is already very good, but adding these features would easily make it one of the best gaming mice available.

R.A.T. 5 Drivers not installing correctly

Hi does anyone know how to install the drivers for the RAT 5 on Windows 10 so that the thumb wheel also works?
