I'm posting here for the very first time.

I'm currently working as a Data Engineer at a small startup. Alongside my data engineering responsibilities, I have worked extensively on demand forecasting, including classical machine learning model development, deployment, and monitoring. I have also built RAG and agentic orchestration applications for clients.

In addition, I developed a small language model (smoLLM 104M params) from scratch, which gave me a strong understanding of LLM architectures, fine tuning techniques, model optimization (symmetric and asymmetric quantization), KV caching, MoE, RLHF, GRPO, DPO, and related concepts.

I'm currently looking for opportunities in AI/ML or Data Engineering roles. My notice period is 30 days.

I'm a little confused too, every JD asks for GenAI/LLM/NLP skills while guys in industry tell me that my current skills are already good enough and those JDs are only exaggeration

Most of the DS roles I see are for experienced professionals, I have this feeling that I'm not searching for the right thing

I am currently working as machine learning engineer from jan 2025. So i have more than 1 and half year experience and planning to resign in search of better job offer as it is difficult to get even interview calls with 90 days notice period(WITCH). I have decent skills in AI enginneeing,Rag, working with llms and development. The main drawback of my current job is that I am spending more than 5 hours for commuting courtesy bangalore traffic. I am seriously confused and thinking to resign without any job offers in hope of finding one in the future. Financial security is not a problem because current job is paying only around 20 k and i can manage without it. Sincerely requesting for guidance and any job referrals if i could get.

Im a Btech CSE student and i have recently started my 3rd year. So now im looking for internships to gain for experience and apply what i have learned into something useful.

I'm particularly interested in machine Learning, deep Learning, AI, data Science, and generative AI. i have build skills and learned many things and built projects in the same domain. Recently i have studied and worked on langchain and fastAPI. Some of the things i have worked and am still working on include: machine Learning and Deep Learning projects, RAG applications, LLM based application, Basic AI agents using LangChain, FastAPI backends for AI applications.

Is the job in corporate business and research for machine learning is very different and is it easy to switch between them?

My primary interest lies in aiml research and systems scaling. So i came across this role where it isn’t either side of both like aiml research -> research scientist and systems and scaling -> Ai engineer.
