General Question Gmail to outlook
Sorry if this is a silly question but in the move from Gmail to outlook, what happens with our Google drive? Are we able to maintain access but just lose Gmail?
Results for Session 1 2026 have been released.
This release is for those who completed their final assessment tasks during the normally scheduled exam period, and not for those waiting for a supplementary exam/assessment task.
Please note that your results will be withheld if you have any outstanding financial sanctions (i.e. unpaid international fees, Student Amenities Fee (SSAF), library fines etc). It is recommended that you check eStudent to see whether you have any outstanding fees that will prevent you from receiving your final grades.
-------------------------------------------------
“I received my results, but I’m not happy with them. What can I do?”
As part of the policy for Assessment Procedure, students are entitled to view their examination script. To organise a script viewing after you receive your results, kindly email your unit convenor using your MQ student email address as soon as possible.
For units owned by the Macquarie Business School (ACCG, ECON, BUSI, MGMT etc) students should review their marks and feedback in the iLearn Gradebook, where a detailed breakdown is provided.
-------------------------------------------------
"I viewed my exam with my convenor. Now what?"
There is an option to appeal the result of your final exam, however, there are a limited number of grounds on which you can submit an appeal. For example, one of the grounds to apply requires you to have evidence to prove that a clerical or administrative error was made when your assessment task mark was calculated. Use your time with your convenor to confirm your marks were added up correctly. The other two grounds can be found via the link below.
https://students.mq.edu.au/study/assessment-exams/appeals/grade-appeal
Please note that the Grade Appeal policy does not cover students who hope to get a few more marks to try and pass a unit or receive a higher grade.
"But I feel like I should get more marks!", "But I was a couple of marks off..." and "But I need to pass this unit" do not meet the criteria to apply.
"But I was sick/experienced an unavoidable disruption earlier in the session, and that affected my performance in one of my previous assessment tasks (not final exam)". This also does not meet the criteria for Grade Appeal, as you are expected to apply for Special Consideration at the time of your disruption earlier in the session.
Your reasoning must first meet one or more of the Grade Appeal criteria, and you must have evidence to support your reasoning.
If you are considering an appeal, please follow the steps outlined in the link above before you submit an appeal as you may not need to submit one. Should you meet the criteria to appeal and you have your evidence, you have 15 business days from the day your results were published to submit an appeal.
-------------------------------------------------
"I viewed my script, but I don't have grounds or evidence to appeal."
Failing a unit does not mean that you are not capable - it just means that something in your life or your study approach did not line up this time, and that is ok. Many students stumble, and its a normal part of the learning process. Take this time to reflect on what contributed to the results that you received, and see what actions you can take next session to come back better prepared and more confident. Remember, this setback does not define you - it is just one moment in a much bigger journey, and you have within you the ability to keep moving forward.
Best of luck with your results, and with your studies next session. You got this.

Welcome to the 'Macquarie University Weekly Societies & Meetups Advertising Post' (or the M.U.W.S.M.A.P for short)
___
Here students and societies alike can arrange or outline their intended events, gatherings and meetups for the week to come!
We politely ask that any societies (or people on behalf of societies) limit themselves to one advertising comment per week as to not bury posts by individuals (editing existing comments are allowed). And that individuals advertising their own event (be them just meeting up on campus or something more elaborate), make sure to keep their suggested meetups appropriate and vaguely in-keeping with Uni guidelines (IE: no organising drug deals which I have already had to previously remove).
I hope people and societies alike are able to make the most of these posts, and I wish you all luck in meeting your fellow students!
{Note: This is purely an advertising post, r/MacUni and its modteam cannot assure the validity or outcome of any posts/comments made on our subreddit, it is up to the individual to use their best judgement to discern the expectations of any advertised events/encounters.}

Hi everyone, it might sound like a dumb question, but are seminars available to watch online like a normal lecture? Never had one before and don't really feel like coming into campus at 5pm :)

I’m not sure how common this issue is, but I recently tried to swap class times with another student, and we were unable to do so. The unit is EDST2530/8211.
Each time I deregistered from my class, the other student could not see the available spot, and the same thing happened when they deregistered from theirs. Could this be because I am enrolled in the bachelor’s version of the unit while they are enrolled in the master’s version?
Feeling very confused right now sigh

hey all, i'm gonna be at uni like 3-4 days a week so considering the uni's gym membership since it's such better value compared to other gym membership costs.
just wondering what the best days and best times of day to go are, where it wont be crazy packed?
and if anyone's got the Gold membership, are the classes worth it? thanks :)

basically i couldnt enrol in my units because of this issue i had with an anti-requisite clash, i applied for support from service connect and to this day they havent gotten back to me about it, so i took it in my own hands and enrolled in different units that i could actually enrol in because i had no more time before the sem started. and no surprise all the classes are full.
do i still have a chance at classes opening up? ik i should wait but im getting nervous since classes start next week and im unsure if they will. units im waiting on classes opening up are EDST1510 and EDST2530

I Apllied to exchange in the US with two freinds. 1. When does the application come back/when will i know if I got in. 2 Is there anyway to get into the same uni for exchange with freinds.
Any help would be appreciated
I'm currently a 2nd year student in Criminology and I want to change degrees to something dentistry-related e.g. oral health. Thing is, my WAM is really, really bad due to my failed classes in my first year, and then there's the fact that MQU doesn't offer any dental courses. I'd have to go somewhere else.
What would be my best pathway into a dental degree, such as the Bachelor of Oral Health at USYD? I know that there are a lot of good certificates at TAFE, but I'm not sure if they would help me bridge into dental degrees at other unis. Or should I transfer degrees internally into something else which can reset my WAM?

hey guys, im currently looking at applying for early entry through the leaders and achievers pathway. i’m looking at applying for bachelor of law, criminology and psychology. unfortunately, my year 11 marks weren’t really anything amazing - b in english advanced, extension, geography, economics, c in legal studies and d in maths advanced (since dropped to standard but that doesn’t matter for this). i feel i have strong activities (3, two of them over a long time period) but just feel unsure marks wise. if anyone has any advice/stories, id really appreciate it

Just submitted my application for a Cybersecurity as my top pick, followed my a bachelor of Science. In year 11 my grades weren’t great, consisting of an overall 3 B’s (Legal, Music 1, Business) and 3 C’s (Maths Standard, English Standard, Investigating Science). I put down work and helping design my school’s yearbook as well as some family responsibilities that will really impact my HSC exams. I am terrified of whether I may get in or not and would rather hear from those who took this route.

I’m enrolled in 4 units this semester, but I can only register for 3 classes, with the other unit not showing up. On top of that iLearn is only showing 2 of my units. We start back classes in a week not sure what to do…

I have 3 units online, but unfortunately, 1 of my classes is only offering 1 online class that is already full and clashes with another tutorial at the same time. Is there a possibility that they might add another time slot on another day for online classes if the 1 that is running is already full?
I'm trying to make all my classes online because it's easier and more convenient for me to attend my tutorials instead of travelling an hour in peak hour times 3-4 times a week for 1 tutorial. I can hop on, contribute to class, and hop off, all from the comfort of my computer and not have to spend extra money on transport. I also work in the complete opposite direction of where MQ is, so I can't really afford to go to work before or after a class unless it is online.
I've checked the in-person classes, there's 3 time slots that are still free but very close to filling up (3< places left). Do I send a request or does the uni monitor the online registrations too and then decide to add another time slot?
P.S. If I un-enrol from my current in-person class and enrol in the external intake but leave my tutorial as unselected (because it's full), could that flag the unit convenor to then possibly create another time slot?

Does anyone have good resources for cheap or accessing textbooks? I have a unit this sem (torts) which has no digital copy of the textbook for me to borrow. The epub version is close to 200 dollars, which I am not willing to pay for 13 weeks of content. Lol. Does anyone know good places to get ((totally legal)) pdf copies or cheap second hand?
Edit: thanks to those who responded, unfortunately I have looked on every shadow library and there's no full copy of the book anywhere, and I can't even find it second hand. I genuinely can't afford to purchase this book, is it just tough luck or is there anything else I can do?

Hey everyone, not sure how many riders there are at MQ but I do see a decent amount of cool bikes dotted around the campus so if anyone here rides and would be keen to go for a ride around the suburbs or anywhere in Sydney tbh, feel free to reach out
I only started riding this year, so my circle is still pretty small, and I'd love to meet some new people who are into bikes. I'm on my Ps at the moment and ride pretty regularly to uni and work so I'm always down for a cruise and a chat
Don't mind if you're just starting out too or super experienced, it'd just be great to get to know some fellow riders :)
also just realised I should probably mention I'm 19m, second year and ride an R7 (Insurance's worst nightmare fr)

Hello everyone,
I am applying for Macquaire PhD Application. I am facing issues with references. I have added their details but they haven't received any emails. Will they receive emails only after application submission? I will most probably submit it 1-2 days before deadline as my supervisor is still reviewing my proposal.
How much time referees usually get after application deadline to submit references? Also just incase any of the references backout will I be able to change the details and add other referees.
I would really appreciate help from former PhD or Masters applicants
Thanks!
