Analysis All MLR Teams are out
Honestly a pretty good first team. The Second team I’d add Cassh for Santiago Videla and put Ryan James in for Perry. Third team I’d remove Mullen for either Mason Pederson or Alex Maughn. I’d also take out Riekert for Aiden King. Davy Coetzer and Dewald Kotze are two I can think of that are unlucky to miss out. Tom Pittman, Matt Oworu, Noah Brown and Kaleb Geiger are also some guys who I think deserve some shoutouts.
But what do you all think? Any picks you disagree with or heavily support?

Why not?
So Vinod Khosla buys the Seahawks for $9.6 Bn. He could have bought a new team or three in MLR for far less than that.
But I suppose buying the Superbowl Champions in the biggest professional sport in the world. He didn't follow the golden rule on investment though- Buy low, sell high.

What made the Rockhounds so good this year?
They clearly were a level above everyone else. I don't know exactly what gave them the advantage. Im just curious because i don't know the technical side to it as I'm still learning rugby.

Latham makes his future interest clear
I have stated in an earlier sub that Latho does not have his sights set on the Eagles job after 2027. This makes it pretty clear that he wants to coac the Wallabies. . And why not? It is his amazing pedigree. It is also more aligned with his personal life.
Having spoke with someone close to him about a return to OZ, I was told that most of the contracts for staff are already inked. That being said, the 2031 cycle would align nicely for him.

Are The SaberCats Coming Back to MLR?
Isn't that Scratch the Houston SaberCats mascot in the top photo? If so, he was at the MLR Championship match in Chicago. Maybe it's a hint that the Cats are coming back to MLR in 2027? Houston fans and others, please let us know if you've heard anything. It would be nice to have them back. (photo c/o MLR Facebook page)

Well my friend in Canada finished her report, possible good news for MLR
2 months ago I posted on here about my friend she works in Marketing at a major Canadian foods company and was placed in charge of a research project about whether buying into MLR was a good idea. Well she finished her report and turned it into her boss last week.
The just of the report is this: current finances at each club are not good every club is operating at a loss, but her research shows that if the league can survive it can be the next MLS where original owners bought in for $25 million and now sell for $250 million or more (Minnesota United the last one).
She told me she has no idea if Saputo will follow through she was only in charge of brainstorming the idea, however the report was positive for MLR. He is currently sour on MLS in what he feels is an attack on Montreal since they switched to a winter calendar. Montreal CF may be without a venue as Saputo stadium isn't winterized for games in December and January. Saputo would use Saputo stadium for his new MLR club and make some splash signings to try and garner interest.
She's heard a few rumblings from higher ups. It was originally a plan for two clubs one in Montreal and Quebec City, but communications with Altrad Group (owners of Montpellier) have intensified and there is a rumored 3rd club in Gatineau (Ottawa but the French side). So there is a potential for 3 Canadian clubs next year with significant financial backing from a Canadian billionaire and Top 14.
The sticking point she says is negotiations with MLR since MLR has turned the page and tried to develop more domestic talent after this season. These Canadian sides will have Canadians on their teams of course but Altrad Group and the other French owners interested in this project want to use reserve players from Top 14 to get them more game time. Basically there is a dispute over international slots which is holding this up at the moment.
