Sub Resource r/LupeFiasco Resources (Welcome to the Sub)
There's a few things that might be nice to have stickied to the top of the community, so I thought it would be helpful to put them all into one post. This is a good place for us regulars to use, as well as a quick overview for newcomers. I will definitely add on to this as needed, let me know if there's ever something you feel deserves a spot here. I also have two things in the works that I just left on here as placeholders (Wave/MYH).
New to Lupe: an Almost Definitive Guide If you’re new to Lupe and wondering, where do I start? He has so much music, try this. Also see: the one where some songs get context and Lupe’s Early Career
The Wavelength - First off, something that's cool about this sub is that Lupe himself is a member, and he drops in from time to time. However, his largest offering is the Wavelength, where he talked about Drogas Wave's concept and some of the work behind it. He chose Reddit as his platform to share this info and that was a big moment for the sub. Said post gave us a lot of vital insight to the album and it was cool he chose here to share it, so make sure you check that out. Also given to us by Lupe was the Reddit Wavers Logo
Downloading All Albums/Mixtapes - Albums available through iTunes/Apple, Spotify, Amazon, and Tidal; Mixtapes available for free through Datpiff and Mixtape Monkey
Lupe's Full Discography - Lupe has a lot of music and it can be hard to keep track of it all, so this is the big attempt at organizing and recording all known Lupe tracks. The goal is to keep it updated and add anything we may have missed. Let me know if you ever find anything or I forget to add a new song!
EDIT: Removing Datpiff and KTT links because both are gone. Adding new to Lupe and consolidating other links.

Discussion Koala. delusional troll
Anyone keeping up with that Koala cat? Lol he just put me on blast on his most recent video for my comment, calling him out asking when he thinks his lupe wave will flatten out, and his relevancy will fade away. I find it funny how a dude with 42k followers is saying how he brought relevancy to Lu who just came off a sold out samurai tour. An INDEPENDENT ALBULM. Kinda schizo, no?

Meme Stack That Cheese has a horrendous beat but I like the song 😂
This song causes a sensation in me like no others in his catalog, I can't help but laugh when the beat drops cuz of the live smacky drums and that goofy ass bass line. You can hear that they were having fun, the hook is great and each verse is more locked in than the last. It's as though they realized the song could be good as they were making it

Discussion Does Anyone have the rest of this mixtape? Or the V1 Version
mediafire.comMixtape was "Cold Blooded" (and subsequently Cold Blooded V2) hosted by DJ Mini Maxx. I was reminded when my friend started singing Misunderstood and I burst out into "The Coolest". Reminded me of it, but I only had a few songs from it. I remember the first version had a mix or two that I enjoyed as well.
Hopefully there's an old head out there that's a hoarder like me.

Discussion Which album for a music listening party?
I host music listening parties where a bunch of people get together and listen to an album and then talk about it. The people generally have wide taste in music - we’ve mostly done hip hop, but also pop, rock, etc. I’m trying to figure out which Lupe album to do for the next one. I was thinking Tetsuo or Drogas since they’re the most conceptual, but the flip side is they’re the least known, have the least pop appeal, and are highly complex. So then I lean Cool or F&L, but those aren’t strictly concept albums, and don’t showcase Lupe at his absolute best. Any suggestions, along with reasoning?
Edit: I love that every single album (besides a couple) has been mentioned. This is exactly the problem I’m having lol

Discussion T&Y - Body of Work
Can we just talk about how absolutely insane this song is?
The type of song I truly think nobody else can make. The third verse is just otherworldly man.... jesus!!
An anatomy, not of me, knotting me to it, nodding me to it

Discussion Be honest; how many tracks you skippin’ on FnL Part 2 when you let that thang ride all on your own?
galleryFor me, 14 years after it dropped, I gotta say I skip ZERO tracks
Even Lu’s sis spoken word poem sets the tone for 16 banging rap songs
It’s just a very fun, flawless album that I can let ride and vibe with the whole way through
Standout jams: Round My Way, Audubon Ballroom, Bitch Bad, Form Follows Function, Unforgivable Youth(crazy storytelling going on here), Cold War, Battlescars
Underrated tracks like Put Em Up, How Dare You, Hood Now, Lambo Angels, and Go To Sleep stay slapping
— DROGAS Wave will always be my favorite Lupe joint
— The Cool is his one true stone cold classic
— TnY is his abstract masterpiece
— DMIZ and Samurai are very digestible and accessible projects, that follow through on their concepts (Drill culture being a cancer for black youth, and the personal/spiritual journey of an artist perfecting their craft)
— Lasers his super commercial joint
— FnL 1 his fresh and smooth as fuck debut
— Pharaoh Height, ROTN, House Ep… classic tapes and EPs for sure
But iono what it is about FnL 2, it’s a masterpiece in its own rights, the beats are pretty mainstream but the lyrics and song concepts are very advanced
And rn I can’t stop bumping it at home, in the whip, cycling, hooping, w/e… it’s definitely a summer album
PS: Even the 2 Poo Bear tracks have a charm to em!

Discussion I don't like the production on Tetsuo & Youth
Yeah so I just cannot vibe with this album no matter how much I try. Lyrically, I do think it is one of his strongest, if not the strongest. But sonically, it does very little for me. I really really want to like it more but I just can't. I know many here consider it his best, but does anyone else feel the same about the production?

Discussion Anyone ever do a tour meet & greet?
Pre-sale tickets went on sale today for VIP meet & greet before the show in my neck of the woods and wondering if anyone who’s done it thinks it’s worth the $200.
Never did one and wasn’t sure if it’s like a stand in line, snap a pic, and leave type thing or you actually chop it up back stage for a while.
Typically I wouldn’t give a shit about meeting an artist as long as I see the show, but figured he’s a top 5 for me and I’m still having regrets missing Aesop Rock when he last came to town 10 years ago (and hasn’t toured since).

Video I asked Lupe Fiasco: "How do you define Happiness?" ⭐
youtu.beOn Monday I joined Lupe's Q&A session on IG live and hit him with a few questions. He picked one of them and gave a thoughtful, relatable answer. Needless to say, but it absolutely made my day as Lupe's been in my Top 5 ever for many years. And it all happened a day after my birthday haha. Thank you, Lupe!

Discussion Best rap verse ever. Hurt me soul. Verse 3
youtu.beNgl, I’m not as hip to his music anymore but I’m working on it. But verse 3 is the best rap verse I ever heard.

Discussion Just listened to Samurai
First time hearing this album. Is this Lupe best album or something? I have never heard someone rap like this over the course of a project in recent memory outside Fall Off by Cole but this is COMPLETELY different.. He is on another level and I see why Cole said “I’m not the best. Lupe exists”. It’s absolutely insane. Idk how he can rap better than this
And I haven’t even gotten into a deeper meaning or the theme of the album. I was just listening and noticed that dude was rapping his ass off
Think I’m going to give his discography a well needed deep dive….Im not new to his music. Lupe was the FIRST rapper I remember listening to with headphones. Food And Liquor original version back in 06…the first lyrics I wrote down to remember were Theme Music To a Driveby and Steady Mobbin. thought he was the best I heard then and still think he is the “best”. I just don’t consume his music like I should
I just kinda stopped listening after The Cool for reasons unknown. Think it was lasers or something. Outside of food and liquor and the cool, what is a dope Lupe album where he is rappin his ass off?
I’m not as hip to his music anymore, but I think some of his albums after The Cool were more “melodic friendly” or songs that were heavily focused on thematic undertone and not so much of your standard “rakim/nas” stylized lyricism….. I could be wrong, but what album do yall suggest? I heard Drogas Wavs. Just 1-2 songs back in the day. Not the whole album but I remember liking king nas, wav files, and I think another song.
