Monthly anything goes thread (things that are not an event go in here)

Hello, you amazing and beautiful people.

I am automod, and this is the monthly stickied anything goes post.

For main posts on the sub, we only allow posts that are about meetups, where everyone is invited and aren't self-promotion events.

While at the same time, people do want some of those threads! This is the anything goes (well as last as it's still being a nice human!)

So post whatever is not an event over here! Questions, looking for someone to play chess with 1-2-1, whatever you desire.

As a reminder, here's the "What is LSC" post as well. https://www.reddit.com/r/LondonSocialClub/comments/u6f3zo/what_is_londonsocialclub_2022_remix/

[01/08/26]PICNIC PARTY 1ST AUGUST🎉

Upvotes

hiya

me and some friends (~8 girls ~8 guys, aged 21-28) are doing a little picnic party soon

we’re an open minded bunch that love meeting new curious & engaging people (the type of people that would respond to a post like this!) so I thought I’d put this out there.

It’d be nice to make some new friends, open to anyone but preferably female

Most of us are into philosophy, science, and other nerd shit

reply to this if interested !!

[26/07/2026] Sunday Pub Quiz at the Canonbury Tavern

The World Cup is over. We're so back.

Come and join us at the Canonbury Tavern for the pub quiz!

What:

Pub Quiz - Exactly as it sounds! A quizmaster asks the questions and teams write down their answers. Questions cover a range of subjects and the quiz features picture and music rounds. It is all for fun and there is no pressure to memorise the encyclopaedia before coming.

Where:

The Canonbury Tavern https://maps.app.goo.gl/xocQRtc3PDJrQF676?g_st=ic

Our tables are usually immediately on the left as you enter the pub, but you can ask staff for LSC when you arrive - there is usually someone with a laptop who has a record of bookings.

When:

Every Sunday, the pub quiz starts at 19:00, with the picture sheet being given out around 18:40. Tables are booked under "LSC" from 18:30. Two tables are booked but we will try to make any number work. We recommend arriving around 18:30-18:45 as you'll get to take a greater part in answering the picture sheet questions, but it's also really helpful in working out how many teams we'll have - as well as chatting beforehand!

How much:

£2.50 per person payable to the pub quiz people (Cashless only).

Who:

All are welcome. We typically make two teams with around 12 people.

Do I need to sign up / am I too late?:

Ideally, please leave a comment either on this post or in the WhatsApp group to let us know you're coming, and with how many people - with as much notice as possible - so we know how many teams we will be and roughly how many per team. It's not a huge problem to turn up after it starts, but try to be there on time to avoid missing the fun!

Do I need to be a whizz-kid, intellectual genius, or quizzing-extraordinaire?:

Nope, we do the quiz for fun.

Any Questions:

Write them into a comment and we will answer them - we are kind of into that.

We also have a WhatsApp group chat. Ask around on the day in person to be added.

[25/07/2026] Bad Bunny Summer Party – Between the Bridges

Hi! I’m 28F and planning to head to the Bad Bunny Summer Party at Between the Bridges on Saturday 25 July. I thought it’d be fun to meet a few people especially maybe a girl’s group beforehand for a drink around Southbank at about 6:00pm, then head into the event together.
The event starts later in the evening and will be full of Bad Bunny, reggaeton and Latin music. Happy to meet anyone who enjoys that kind of music, whether you’re going solo or with friends.

[26/07/26] Coffee and Books: First London Reading Circle Meetup

Hey! I’m looking to start a small book club/social group for women in their 20s and 30s in London who enjoy reading, good conversations and meeting new people.
For the first meet-up I’m thinking we’ll grab a coffee from Aether Coffee Lab in Canary Wharf, sit by the water, chat about what everyone is currently reading and choose our first book together.
No pressure to have read anything beforehand, just bring a book you love (or one you’re currently enjoying) and come along to meet some new people.
I’m hoping to find a group of regulars so people can actually get to know each other and build genuine friendships.
If this sounds like your kind of thing, feel free to comment or message me :)

I have pasted the link for free CLIQ tickets too to keep track of people coming ☺️

[23/07/26] Drinks after Work at Market Stalls Canary Wharf

Reposted because I put the wrong date last time. This is happening this Thursday in the year 2026!

I recently started a new job in Canary Wharf that has me coming in to the office five days a week, so I figure I might as well try and meet some people in the same boat. If you're based in and around Canary Wharf, let's meet up for a quick drink at Market Halls Canary Wharf! I get off at 5pm so can meet up around then.

About me: 37M and into smoking Texas style BBQ, making cocktails, and performing improv comedy when I can. I also have two dogs so while dogs won't be in attendance for this, I have tons of photos on my phone I can share with you in person.

Feel free to comment here or send me a chat request if you're interested and we'll set something up!
