So yeah, I'm based in Ceuta (tiny city in Spain, north Africa) and honestly I'm tired of making music alone. Used to be in bands but everyone's got kids now or just no time, so here I am.

I produce mainly in Logic but also mess around with Ableton. Got a Tokai Strat from '84 and a Jazzmaster, plus all the MIDI stuff. But real talk - what I actually love doing is singing. Alternate rock is where I'm comfortable, but I'm down to try whatever honestly.

I streamed on Twitch for 3 years doing covers (TrueCovers), actually placed second in some international Got Talent competition thing. Don't know if that means anything but yeah, I've been around music for a while.

Just looking for people who actually want to work on something, learn together, maybe become friends? Time zones don't really matter with the internet.

I like to use the spacebar for "Play from last selected position". But I still want to have regular "Play" to be a super easy key to press. Do you have any suggestions?

I constantly find myself killing any outboard chorus I have in favor of the logic one, it just hits every time. I think it may be subtly modulating both signals (L+R) instead of having one wet one dry like the majority of chorus pedals, amps or racks with stereo capability do. Looking for any kind of answer, idea or brainstorming because I’d love to try and replicate it with my analog gear

I've been a Logic user for years! My very first version was Logic 6 when it was still owned by emagic. That must have been around 2003. Instead of regular tidying up, I copied Logic Sessions (made with different versions) from one Mac to another. A couple of weeks ago my Mac told me that I had to free up some disk space. So I started my summer cleaning! And to my surprise I discovered that the oldest Logic sessions where unreadable (symbolized by a black screen with exec written on it) I actually still have my Mac from 2001 so I'm going to try retrieve them that way.

I purchased the Telepathic Instruments Orchid a few months ago as I thought it would be a cool way for me (primarily a guitar player) to add new contexts and sounds to my songs. I also liked it's portability as I travel for work, often with over 75 nights per year in a hotel.

I found it to be a useful studio tool, but not great for my type of travel. I also recently purchased a very nice drum kit that was outside my budget and started looking for items in my studio I could part with to make up the difference. I really liked the functionality of the Orchid but thought that if I could come up with a satisfactory alternative that was more portable it would be time to part ways.

I used Google Gemini to create code for Scripter that met my needs and sold the Orchid. There is a link to a walkthrough video above. If you are the kind of person who can just read a manual and understand the installation and functionality, the code and manual can be found here.

As the title suggests can I make empty but named track alternatives to save in my template? For example, track alternative (default name A) consists of a take folder, of say vocals for example. I’m wondering if by default I can save track Alternative B’s name as “Comped” where a composite take of the take folder in Alternative A is flattened / merged.

I’m well aware you can export the comp to a new track and then hide the original take folder.

That is my current workflow now, but when working on very large projects consisting of 150+ tracks, often containing groups of take folders (for multimic’d recordings, etc) it can be visually pretty overwhelming. It would be sweet to work of an edited composite track and be able to quickly flip back to the take folder if any changes need to be made without unleashing every hidden track.

I suppose my question is firstly about the track alternatives thing, but also generally quirks regarding working from templates in logic.

Trying to recreate the swelling sound that comes in around 1:27 and gets even louder at 1:35. I can't tell if it's a distorted synth swell or if it's a guitar. Any tips on how I can achieve a similar sound in Logic?

So I just got the drumforge classic library, and when I save my mapping in the plugin, everytime I reopen and load the mapping in , it's not what I saved it as( several drum sound got stacked in to adjacent midi notes), any help? Thanks

What mouse are you guys using? It’s quite overwhelming online when you read the reviews as every content creator/review website will swear the mouse they were gifted is the best.

Since logic remote doesnt let me see the timeline or manage the regions, im basically flying blind hitting record hoping the right track is armed without visual proof.

i think its correct of apple, to introduce a retroactive upgrade across versions of logic remote that addresses this issue. and please apple stop milking the same cow twice, and start offering twice the milk for the price of one cow.

I use logic and I’m creating a piece just using digital instruments. The piece sounds good and I honestly think the general fader mix isn’t bad, but it overall sounds so quiet. Do I need to use compression or something???

Hello! I'm not sure if this will help anyone, but the other day, I made a post hoping to find answers to why I was experiencing weird latency issues. Here is a link to the post. I tried everything people suggested, plus other things I found online, but nothing worked. However, I believe I have found the solution.

I am using a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pros. I know these headphones are notorious for their extra output in the higher frequency ranges, so I purchased an application named SoundSource. It allows me to apply a 10-band EQ to the entire system output, as well as to add in third-party AU plugins.

I added in a Fab Filter Pro Q 4, and using Oratory1990's EQ settings, set the various bands to try and get closer to the Harman EQ curve. Anyway, it all sounded fine, but I didn't realize this was the actual culprit adding in the massive latency.

The lightbulb moment was when I started a completely new, blank project with zero plugins or anything loaded. Just a single audio track that I could record into. No matter what I tried, nothing worked. Even with zero plugins, I was getting major latency. Not even from just monitoring, but the actual recording itself was always way off beat. I'm not the best guitar player, but I know I can certainly stay in time, so it was very frustrating.

Then I had a hunch that it was SoundSource basically causing a blind spot. Logic is calculating the timeline placement based on my interface (Scarlett 2i2), completely unaware that SoundSource is holding onto the audio for a fraction of a second longer.

Once I turned it off, voila, everything started working as it should again. I knew my computer (Mac Studio M4 Max with 36GB RAM) had more than enough power to handle this, so I was really stumped. Now, with SoundSource turned off, I can record without issue even with all the plugins activated. I still likely won't, but it's good to know it wasn't some hardware issue or something. From now on, I will only turn SoundSource on when I start doing the final mixing.

Which method do you think actually is effective on “glueing” the bass and the kick drums in your mix especially if it’s like trap with the 808 sounds, what do you usually do?

Do you usually boost up the EQ and put them in the same settings or what else?

I always feel like the instrument sounds so clear while the vocal sounds off and “out of place”

I use ShureSM58 from recommendation because my area is quite noisy so I’m worried the more sensitive mic like condenser mic would pick up EVERYTHING but I guess I’m not sure if it affects the mixing vocal or no

Anybody know any fix? I usually swap it out for pitch shifter and that works but still. Only plugin is a whammy in a pedal board. It seems to be the whammy that's causing it but I don't know why.

I’ve run into something that seems to go against a lot of common mixing advice, so I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this.
When I record and mix vocals, whether they’re clean or screams, I consistently prefer the sound when I don’t bus them to an aux for processing. Every time I move certain plugins to a vocal bus, the vocals seem to get thinner, weaker, and lose some of the presence they had with the plugins inserted directly on each track.
My typical setup is three vocal tracks: one center track that’s the loudest, plus two supporting takes panned left and right. Each track has its own plugin chain, and I might only put something like a delay on one of them for effect. None of the vocal tracks are routed to a common vocal bus.
I know this isn’t the conventional approach, but to my ears it just sounds bigger and more solid.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a technical reason why a bus might change the perceived sound, or am I just preferring the differences that come from processing each track individually?
