My first post here ever; be gentle. My wife's photos actually from a work trip; just came across them backed up. I hope this fits the sub.

Discussion People who lecture you about things not being liminal are annoying

Why do people act like liminal spaces have to be literally on the threshold? Most liminal spaces that people say are thresholds are huge stretches. Whenever I see someone talk about liminal spaces, they bring up the whole root word, and rant about how every liminal space is a threshold. Why not just accept that liminal spaces aren't literally the definition of the word anymore? Meanings change all the time. For example, hamburger came from Hamburg, but now the word is just burger, usually. You don't see people saying that it's not a hamburger if it's not made in Hamburg. Also, everyone dies. Does that mean every single place is a liminal space? No!

This image is a liminal space, but it's not a hallway! It's not on the threshold. It's just an old living room. But it is a liminal space.

Sorry for the rant I'm just tired of every single time I see something cool in this sub, there's insufferable people in the comments talking about how "actually it's not a hallway so this isn't liminal you should never post again actually"

I work in a repurposed industrial research facility where if you run into another human in the course of the day, its a bit of a surprise to both parties. These photos were all taken at 11am on a Wednesday, so not even after-hours with the lights down. Always a delight!

Discussion Weird comfort feeling

Lately I’ve been completely obsessed with liminal spaces and weirdcore aesthetics, and I finally figured out why.. (I guess?)

It’s the total lack of people. No one is there to judge you, ask you for things, or expect anything from you. I kinda felt like this in2020 because of COVID.

My job is driving me absolutely insane lately. I deal with people all day long.

But honestly I don't like this feeling, because I can't use that as an escape. I don't think it's healthy, specially weirdcore edits. I don't feel uneasy whatsoever..

Do you feel the same way? Or do you feel uneasy?
