My 20 year old is going to a new university out of state. Trying to figure out how to do the lease application. The man who gave us a tour said to just have me do it and add her to the lease as a Roomate. He was foreign so hard to understand, but wound this typically raise the income requirement? On the other hand, she has an over 800 credit score but only made about $10,000 last year. No rental history. So would her applying and me being co-signer be better/ worse/ the same? Just wondering how it works if there is an issue and we are not there. It’s in a building complex in DC.
